This game has so much potential. I like the changes in what you gather and what you build - but the timer is off. When you can't even get 3-stars in a level with a 'freeze time' bonus, that says to me the developers never learned how to tell time.
Its not just one level that is like this, its many. I don't mind tough levels, in fact I love them. Having to plan out a strategy to complete the level with 3 stars is kind of the point of these games. But with most, at least the good ones, there are several strategies that work and some that don't. This is one of those games where you have to follow one exact strategy precisely to the second. Thats just annoying. I can understand why its hard to be a queen. I wouldn't even want to be a frog in this game. Maybe a fish, a big green one.
Viking Brothers is one of the FEW series on BFG that I have had to be selective about buying. This installment is a perfect example. I couldn't even get three stars on the first level my first try. That doesn't bode well for the game. Someone should buy the developers a watch cause they clearly cannot tell time.

I own the first two and think they're pretty solid. This series is known to be on the 'more difficult' side so its more geared toward experienced players.
However, I find this latest installment is more geared toward driving gamers to the brink. I'm a pretty seasoned TM player but I've spent the past week just trying to get 3 stars on the third level. Seriously? I've tried numerous strategies and yet it always comes up about a milisecond within expert time limit. Whether this is a bug or the developers have no concept of timing, its not an enjoyable game as a result.
I consider myself to be a seasoned TM player. The fact that I am able to obtain 3-stars on all levels of over 95% of the TM games in Normal mode backs that up.
However, I have no idea how people are playing this game and giving it 5 stars. I played ONE level, I got 2 stars which makes continuing to play the game, pointless. I've played several RT games and this one is by far the worst. I WAS going to try the new release RT8, but I'm gonna pass.

I have the previous Alicia games and I LOVE them, I've completed both. This third one, however, is different. The graphics are better, there are character additions (ghosts, robbers, dog) and gameplay is slightly different.
Normally, a game of such would be a 5-star game, but I'm downgrading it simply due to the robbers. NOT because they include them in the game, but the WAY they include them. In the levels that include the robbers, you chase the robber away (with dog) so your workers can complete their task (robber scares them away) but then just seconds later, the robber re-appears. I had to replay multiple levels because the robber showed up just in time to cause me to lose a star in the level. Really bad play on the part of developers. At least with the ghosts, there's a strategy for getting rid of them. So, since the robbers stole my level stars, consider this my retribution. 4 stars.
Playcademy is really good at making good quality games, but this one fails badly.
While the gameplay is 'similar' to Runefall and Silvertale (same developer) they don't have the 'flare' that those have nor do they have the side quests or extra powerup shops. Add to that, the computer cheats in battlemode, the gameplay is buggy and you just have a failed venture.
I must be in the minority on this one, cause I just don't get all the good reviews.
I would ordinarily love a game like this, but despite its good intentions, this game is a total strikeout.
I enjoy a challenge, don't get me wrong- but when you are repeatedly having to play levels over in just the beginning try-outs then it doesn't bode well for the rest of the game.
The graphics are boring, the music is repetitive and there is nothing "catchy" to make this game standout.
There are 40 levels in the main game. Each getting more difficult as the game progresses. While there were several I had to play several times to get the gold, I was able to do so.
However, the included 'so called' strategy guide is a joke. All it tells you is in what order to build certain buildings but what it does not mention are the numerous levels in which you have to build a building in order to reach another that is listed to be built first. In essence, the guide is pointless and often counter-intuitive.
Add to that the fact that there are only SIX bonus levels, that's right- six. Those bonus levels are also nearly impossible to get the gold on and there is no guide for the bonus levels (not that they'd offer any real assistance anyways).
For a standard game, i'd give it five stars. But for this CE, I can't do 'zero' stars, so I'll do 1 star. That's mainly as a strong rebuke to the developers.
