Wander the island of Pawtuxet to help some trapped souls! Tons of HOPS of GREAT VISUAL QUALITY. The scenes themselves had depth, great construction and were clear and detailed.
GRAPHICS: The option to change resolution to 1600 x 900 really brought out all the glory of the graphics - lots of light and dark and glowing highlights. Full screen OR widescreen. Visibility is good!
SOUND: 3 - Music can be silenced, but is quite nice for a while. Effects and Voice were fine, with rain and thunder and other appropriate effects.
(There was one very strange occurrence - many times when I played a HOPS - there would be this weird, disgusting, creepy-crawly, jelly noise, which was kind of repulsive! I got into the habit of moving my earphones off my ears, during those scenes.)
HOPS: 25+ HOPS. Excellent visibility. Gorgeous to look at (at least 95% of them were).Straightforward wordlists, with some items hidden. Eye candy delight.
PUZZLES: A few. They are pretty straightforward.
DIFFICULTIES: 3 levels of difficulty. You CAN CHANGE difficulty level during game play as well.
HINT: Will guide and lead you .
JOURNAL: Yes
MAP: NONE
INVENTORY: Not lockable
CHARACTERS: Very little interaction. Mouth movement but not lip-sync. Good voice-overs though!
I recommend this game!

Based on completion of whole game-
The coastal scenes are pretty nice in this game. If you want something a little more laid-back, or a break from the action and drama of the newer games, this could be a good choice. I liked the hut clinging to the outcrop of rock, the various water scenes along the coast and the moody skies. Stays pretty tame, and doesn’t veer into horror or anything (even though you get a few skeletons here and there, it stays at the level of a Scooby-Doo cartoon).
GRAPHICS: Nice enough, mainly because of the situations and scenes having depth and detail. Doesn’t fit the whole screen. Full-screen, not widescreen, but no weird stretch either. Objects CLEARLY VISIBLE even though the graphics are not pin-sharp. Play with computer brightness at full.
SOUNDS:3 Music being totally separate. Effects are adequate.
HOPS: About 20. Clear. All wordlist only. Not super attractive to look at, but still fun. Each scene is done twice.
PUZZLES: 10-12, pretty straightforward
HINT: Charges in about 30 seconds on expert.
DIFFICULTIES: 2 In the harder level, you play without sparkles, but they do appear to indicate HOPS.

JOURNAL:YES
MAP: NONE
INVENTORY: Lockable
CHARACTERS: Very little interaction at all.

Wow! Just wow! This is the first Nancy Drew game I've played!! Extremely good atmosphere. Spooky from the start, but not scary. Just like a well-written book, you gradually get to know the characters and the plot thickens...
Like other reviewers probably have mentioned, you really are at the helm in this game! It's 95% up to you.
GRAPHICS:Full screen, not widescreen. Roam around the grounds of Thornton Hall on a spooky moonlit night! You WILL need full computer brightness. Not for anyone struggling with eyesight.
SOUND:Spot on atmospheric sounds, and great voice-acting. Music is separate. All 3 volumes are separate.
MOUSE MECHANICS: The center part of the magnifying glass will glow WHITE when there is something of significance that you should inspect further, or go back to later. It changes to a HAND to pick something up for your inventory.
DIFFICULTIES: 2: Amateur or Master. Master level has no hints and limited tasks list.
HOPS: NONE
PUZZLES: You HAVE TO complete the puzzles, even in Casual (NO SKIP) . Maybe 10? Refer to a separate walkthrough source if necessary.Occasionally, with very tough puzzles, you are provided with an option for a "solution". This solution appears to you in the Task's list as an option.
HINT: Limited, written hints, sometimes with increasing levels of clues for an item. But this is not always the case. You won't be led anywhere, or shown anything. Nothing sparkles. No hints at Master level.
JOURNAL:You get a phone and can take photos instead of making physical, written notes. I found I had to have a notepad handy a couple of times. The journal next to the tasks list is very limited. Good to go back to if you've had a break from the game and need a recap.
MAP:NONE
INVENTORY: Stays visible at all times.
CHARACTERS:I can't say enough good things about the characters! Wonderful acting, wonderful direction and expression of characters on the screen. Character interaction is a MUST in this game.
** Don't be put-off if you don't find the 'eggs.' ( I thought I had a computer game glitch, because the Youtube walkthrough showed an egg in the inventory!! Collecting the 3 eggs is just for fun, at least it doesn't prohibit the continuation of the game. Just so you know!**
I recommend this game!

As in the previous 2 games, an architect must have had something to do with the magnificent scenes and grand structures here. Also, I found the whole ambiance unique compared to other games. It is super relaxing, and very other worldly, like you are totally on a different plane of existence altogether. However, I found the constant input of the other characters a bit annoying.
GRAPHICS: Wonderful. Full-screen or windowed, but not widescreen.
SOUND: Music, Voice, Effects.
HOPS: About 15
PUZZLES: Mix, mostly straightforward.
HINT: Written only, but as you follow the directions, they get more specific.
DIFFICULTIES: 3 and interchangeable from Options.
JOURNAL: Contains your Map, Tasks and Notes.
MAP: Although not a travel map, you collect tokens that allow you to transport quickly from one region to another.
INVENTORY: Lockable
CHARACTERS: The “Dumbledore” guy is just too much, and especially the two-headed guy. Loved the Phoenix and the Colossus and the talking crystal.
I recommend this game!

What a relief to find a good game! TOP MARKS! This game is not a clone look-alike. Did the unusual quality of this game last throughout the game??? YES/NO??? A resounding YES!!! The bonus game is more of a continuation of the main game. I like the way they did it. Palace, ship, island -that’s what you’ll visit on your quest.
GRAPHICS: Nicely detailed. I liked the lay-out of the scenes. On Full screen (which was widescreen), a little of the clarity was lost, and there is no aspect-ratio adjustment, but there was no uncomfortable stretch at all.
SOUND: Music totally separate to everything else. Great! Nice, appropriate, good sound. You can also mute the voice over on the options window; it is in the same column as the difficulty level option.
HOPS: ENJOYABLE, mostly NICE TO LOOK at, mix of ornate and non-ornate, (such as tools). Some HOPS are better to look at than others. Personally I enjoyed all the ornate ones more, and the 2 kitchen scenes the most. It’s the first time in a while I’ve loved doing HOPS!
PUZZLES: Nice mix, all skippable.
HINT: 30 seconds to recharge on casual
DIFFICULTIES: 2 and interchangeable
JOURNAL: Diary
MAP: Travel with indicators
INVENTORY: Lockable
CHARACTERS: Realistic and not cutesy. Mix of interesting characters, occasionally wacky. Intermittent interaction only.
EXTRAS IN THIS SE: A bonus game, achievement awards, collectibles, 8 replayable HOPS and 8 replayable puzzles, plus wallpapers, music and concept art.
I recommend this game!

Sounds of water accompany you throughout most of your journey. Chimes, xylophone trills, keyboard notes and other sounds add to a sense of well being. Large spacious areas are created using pathways, stairs, sky and structures. At times it was like walking through a beautiful park with statues in it. There are flying crystal dolphins to collect. The animals in this are created as close to how they are in reality. A beautiful game.
GRAPHICS: Lots of details included, even though the graphics themselves are not pin-sharp. Natural colors. Only full screen or windowed, not widescreen.
SOUND: Music, Voices, Sounds
HOPS: 18 mainly straightforward wordlists
PUZZLES: mixed and enjoyable - all skippable
HINT: 30 seconds to recharge. Will only give you a written hint.
DIFFICULTIES: ONE mode only
JOURNAL: Yes
MAP: Not travel
INVENTORY: Not lockable

I thought it was just ok. Not outstanding in any department. It’s an easy game with plenty of mixed ability puzzles and 10 or so HOPS. With the HOPS you can play match 3 instead. The graphics are just ok. I think if you are looking for an easy relaxing game where you don’t have to think too much about the storyline it might be fine. Also suitable for beginners. Fills the whole screen. Has all the modern options of a 2016 game.

Uncomplicated, relaxing, adventure! You’ll visit 3 or 4 different environments on your quest to rescue the professor and discover what’s going on: a dockside warehouse, various rooms, labs, underground caves and even a ocean themed indoor park! … Good cut scenes provide the necessary explanations. In most chapters and scenes you have to collect several of a particular item hidden IN or BEHIND other objects. In Casual, the giveaway is that the cursor begins to sparkle. The screen has arrows at the side that gives you a static change of scene to the left or right (no dizzying 360 rotation). I didn’t find the arrows distracting.
GRAPHICS: Pretty basic, but CLEAR with good color and spacious.
SOUND: - 2 Music and Sound. Music is totally separate to everything else. Effective music that I could listen to for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Enhanced the experience of being on a mission. The game isn’t huge on environmental sounds, but it was good enough.
HOPS: NONE
PUZZLES: Plenty of mixed ability.
HINT: You collect hints from special items, which change per chapter. If you run out you just don’t get instant hints and have to wait for a bit, for a recharge.
DIFFICULTIES: 2 and interchangeable from options.
JOURNAL: Contains TASKS.
MAP: Not required due to game being chaptered
INVENTORY: VISIBLE at all times.
CHARACTERS: Characters act in a realistic manner. You play as Kate, who is a respectable and savvy agent. I liked the mix of characters involved. They were done well, and appropriately voiced.
I recommend this game!

There's a surprise for you concerning Anna Gray's father! I really enjoyed all the character interaction, and there's lots of it. As in other Grim Tales, you'll use time travel abilities. The only thing I'd say is that I wish there had been a few more areas to explore. Occasional unpleasant images. Not for kids.
GRAPHICS: Beautiful graphics. Good visibility. A tonal theme of gray, black, washed-out scarlet and hints of pale blue. It worked well and gave everything an old, dated look. Gamma, special effects adjustment options. Full screen or Widescreen.
SOUND:4 excellent
HOPS: 12-15
PUZZLES: Mix
HINT: Guides and Leads
DIFFICULTIES:4 choices, and interchangeable.
JOURNAL: NONE
MAP: TRAVEL with useful indicators
INVENTORY: LOCKABLE
CHARACTERS: The character interaction was one of the best things about this game. Very cleverly intertwined with the flow of the story. Good voiceovers.
BONUS GAME: Was equally enjoyable.

For me, it’s the BEST Hidden Expedition’s game since Hidden Expedition -Dawn of Prosperity.
Mix of science, historical facts, historical fiction, the beauty of the natural world, and then the huge spacious places, in both in the tomb areas and in the modern offices with giant windows and foyers. Relaxing and absorbing. Loved the stone pillars in Hunan National Park. Story line kept up a consistent tempo.
GRAPHICS: Soft focus graphics. Good visibility. Nice environmental details. However, over all I wish everything was sharper; I just think it look nicer and is more enjoyable to play. Occasionally, you zoom in and you can tell it was a REAL ornament, because it’s super sharp, with great reflections playing on it.
SOUND: 4 options. Music and Voice are separate; GREAT! Environment and Mouse are tied, and there’s separate control for Cutscenes. Great audio experience.
HOPS: - 15. Mostly wordlists, some silhouette, some a little interactive. Visibility is fine, I just wish the HOPS were more attractive to look at, rather than having blurred, and grainy edges.
PUZZLES: PLENTY. Enjoyable mix.
HINT: Customizable down to 10 seconds. Guides and leads, will sometimes open up a jump portal for you.
DIFFICULTIES: 4 choices -interchangeable.
JOURNAL: You have your FACT CARDS, MESSAGES stored in your electronic device.
MAP: In the electronic device. TRAVEL with useful indicators.
INVENTORY: LOCKABLE
CHARACTERS: Interesting characters! I liked them! I thought they were likeable and eccentric, with good voiceovers.
BONUS GAME: EQUALLY as enjoyable as the main game.
Please make more games, similar to this one, traveling to different cultures, all around the world.
I recommend this game!
