I thoroughly enjoyed this game! This game is slow and relaxing, not an edge of your seat, suspenseful game. Wow, I knew nothing about King Ludwig, the “Fairy Tale King.” Did he really do all those things at Castle Neuschwanstein? Well, he did some of it no doubt, like build the 3 castles. It was fascinating. LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of talking/ reading and interaction with your electronic device. CHARACTERS: Grew on me as I got to know them. They interact very much in a comic book style, never change their stance and there’s no lip-movement. They zip on and they zip off and are more on the cartoon-side compared to the backgrounds. The voice-overs are pretty good and get better as the game progresses (or maybe they grew on me!). The Voices are probably tied-in with either Effects or Ambience, but I wanted both of those on.
GRAPHICS: How to describe them?? Not cartoon-like, not realistic…more like paintings. Must be hand-painted! They help create the subtle mystery that unfolds. HOPS: Wonderful looking HOPS, relaxing to look at. Well-hidden and NOT easy. In this game, you might have to use an inventory item in a HOPS, OR AN ITEM FROM YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE. PUZZLES: A very enjoyable mix of games: 10-15. SOUNDS: 3 sounds: Music, which, IF I’m right is a type of “ambient jazz”???I didn’t really listen to it for long. Then you get Effects and Ambience. HINT: The hint will not lead you, but it will highlight a particular area for you that you are in, or if there is nothing to do there, the map will automatically pop up. MAP: Is a TRAVEL map. Hurrah! It will indicate by an exclamation mark where there is stuff to do. INVENTORY: stays visible at all times
JOURNAL = PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE: in which you receive and store letters, emails, notes,. It also contains the following:CAMERA, NIGHT VISION GOGGLES, AND UV LIGHT These are functional items in your electronic device, and not your inventory. You might have to use these in a HOP scene too! Once or twice I was stuck, and that’s why.
EXTRAS: Bonus game! It continues the story with the same main characters.
So many things to interact with in the first few scenes! Move your mouse onto an item and it’ll probably do something! Keanu Reeves, oh…I mean Alex Dean, moved his family to an initially relaxing, isolated, rural area. However their peace did not last long! Superb, clear, detailed graphics (and not cartoon-like or gaudy, like the screenshots seem to make them appear) & separation of sound into 4 controls! Yes! Characters that are really well done, with a gradually and interesting, unfolding story. The travel map is very clear indicating your next available options.
If you’re interested, the CE version has for collection, 5 collection themes, each with 6 items, plus all the usual. The Bonus game, again of the CE version, was a continuation of the story, with the same main characters, and was very enjoyable!
Stunning and pin-sharp GRAPHICS, like the snow storm at the beginning! Neutral colors and a lot of real looking stuff. The SOUND was spot-on, and I was happy that I could separate out all of them: the music, the ambient, voice and sound-effects. The story line kept up the tempo and it really must have, because I played it all in one go! Great Saturday release for BFG members. A good mix of characters. The BONUS GAME was good too, and concerns a new story in the same hotel. HOPS enjoyable to look at and play and PUZZLES were excellent, varied and fun. The TRAVEL MAP indicates were to go to next, the HINT will lead you and guide you. I didn’t use the diary because it was notes on the characters. Rather bloody, (although not too much of it on the walls this time), but you don’t see the physical act of violence occur, thank goodness. TO COLLECT: 11 TAROT cards which carry info on the different characters, 25 MORPHING OBJECTS, and 20 CRYSTAL BALLS. Loved collecting them all!!
Lots of neverending, noisy, dark swirling, going on. PLUS the music is linked to the environmental sounds which is a disaster for my auditory experience. The story-line had no forward drive and stayed in neutral. Best “Reflections of Life” was the “Tree of Dreams” one and it’s been down-hill since then.
Even with the wooded scenes an'all, it was just tedious and I felt like I would never escape! For me this was not slow and relaxing, but slow and painful.

PuppetShow: The Face of Humanity
The mayor's daughter is missing and you must find her!
I found the characters are a bit weird and a bit lame to be honest. I just couldn’t get to grips with them at all. There are some moments and scenes in this game that are truly awesome, but then other times it’s just dull, dull, dull. Sorry my favorite Puppet Show game is still “Price of Immortality.” -
The graphics are not cartoon-like, they’re natural looking and sharp. Lots of real looking items and lots of detail. I love the garden in the woods and the real water and stream that features a few times!! I like to play a mix of games, and this is exactly what I needed to play. It’s FUN, and NOT created with realism in mind as far as the story goes. The story moves swiftly, the characters have charm. Good HOPS and puzzles, and I really liked the “connecting shapes” game that occurs throughout. The game is definitely is on the lighter side of occult.
Now this is what I call a creepy game and I say that in a way that it was NOT enjoyable. The graphics were so dark too and lacked detail, they were just kinda smudgy! Kidnapping a bunch of children? And you know, it's the way its done that is creepy. Creepy, evil, witch...uggh.
What an enjoyable game! I loved these graphics. I prefer these none cartoon-type. The story was interesting, and the characters had depth. Lots of details in the surroundings. No lull in the tempo of the game. LOTS of HOPS, some interesting puzzles.
Wow you won’t believe the wooded scenes if you get past the first hour or so! Gorgeous. A nature-lover’s paradise!! The first section starts off very comic book style, with no voice overs, and a lot of reading. I liked the story it was relaxing. I liked the slow pace of the game. It is a game I didn’t play in one sitting, but saved it for the right mood. But it just finished! It was in the middle of the story-line it seemed and then says it is to be continued. Such a let-down. Drawbacks: Go to the river, go to the cave, go to the river, and go to the river. You inventory is full. Gorgeous woodlands. But go through the wood AGAIN and again and again and 10 more times. Had to use the YouTube videos 3 times. PS it’s really difficult lighting the fire in the cave. You have to do it from a distance! If you zoom in it won’t work! I still enjoyed it more than many other games.
