I should say Bridge to Another World: Alice in Shadowland really stands alone. I loved the book by Lewis Carroll and I thought the game would follow the plot lines.
Quite the opposite: bad characters became good characters in the game and vice versa The game was fun to play and I loved the card motive which you could encounter everywhere: shrubs that looked like spades or hearts, decorations in the same style. I also enjoyed picking up cards in odd places. The graphics and HOGs were excellent. All in all, it was very amusing and funny as becomes the original story.

I have got all the games of the Myths of the World series and I enjoyed playing most of them. So when the Island of Forgotten Evil CE was released I bought it in spite of some negative reviews. I should say it is a far cry from the previous games. I was really at a loss what the purpose of all the meanderings in the prison was. I got tired of looking for teeny weeny parts which I needed to assemble some gadget. The graphics leaves much to be desired and even my favorite HOGs were a disappointment. I had no idea what I was supposed to look for as I haven't ever heard the names of the objects I was expected to find. To my mind there was no story as such. And I really got tired of the monotony and game repetitions. I do believe that the next instalment will be more captivating and user friendly. And I hope other players will still enjoy the game.
I recommend this game!
Prepare yourself for a perilous journey across the world in order to save your niece from imminent danger.

Most of the time it is rather hard to find the right game. To avoid buying the wrong game, I usually start with negative reviews. I did the same with the game. And though there were rather many user unfriendly reviews, I decided to play trial as I like Chinese, Tibetan themes. My favourite game has been and is Myths of the World: Chinese Healer. So I played the trial. As soon as I saw the rainbow of colors and exquisite graphics as well as heard very relaxing music I realized it was my game type. And throughout playing the game I wished it would never end. So beautiful, so ingenious. Sometimes I do skip mini games. This time I really enjoyed playing them especially the one with Shiva. That was brilliant. My favorite HOS were on a par with graphics: you could see every teeny weeny detail. And I did enjoy finding morphing objects. I wish there were more games like this one.
I recommend this game!

I have bought the game as I liked the demo though I haven't played it up to the end. I wonder why in almost each and every game you need to find gears: oodles of them. I guess the abbreviation HOGs stands for Hidden Object: Gears)). More often than not they are rusty. So you will have to look for a rust remover. If you look for pliers or scissors you are sure to find only one part and then run all over the places (and there are rather many of them) in search of the other half. If you find a stitched pillow or sack you may be in for a surprise but the best find was an incomplete bazooka in an ice slab! BTW you may use the water from the fountain to defrost it as it is hot! It does border on nonsense. The graphics is so so. It is the endless running hither and thither that is rather frustrating. You have to whack bad guys many a time and when you revisit the site they are still there (it stands to reason but I'd prefer not to see them). As for my favourite HOs sometimes I was at a loss what I was supposed to look for. It is the most boring and senseless game I have played so far.
I don't recommend this game.

When I saw the game title I bought it without giving it a second thought or without playing the demo up to the end. Starting playing the demo, I saw the light effect of the Cardinal Richeleu's soutane, his face as well as D'Artagnan's face (that reminded me of the Russian Iron Mask Man screen version) and bought the game. Ohmygod!!!! If it were possible I would rate it as the worst game I have ever played: I would have given it zero stars. Poor Dumas! The scenes are gloomy and macabre. As the teleport map malfunctions from time to time you have to walk long distances from one place to another. Lots of skeletons and skulls to encounter on your way. Most tasks have got nothing to do with the book plot: for instance, you first catch mice, then you free them. No rhyme or reason! Gloomy dark streets, no voice overs, one and the same sound track. The only object that was recognizable was Bastille.And what really was the last straw was baking pies in the main game and making potions in Extras. A Far Cry from Duma
I don't recommend this game.

When I saw the third game of the Reflections of Life - Tree of Dreams I bought it without giving it a second thought as I did enjoy playing the first two games. Wrong judgment! There is no story as such and there is no rhyme or reason in looking for missing objects. Could you possibly guess that you should look for a chair leg in the middle of nowhere!? Or tie ropes to "mad" clock hands to fill the fountain and redirect water flow!!! But for the teleport map I would have been still playing the game. There are no voice overs and you are playing in a weird silence. Even my favourite HOGs leave much to be desired. OK, I do admit that some of them were different from usual ones but that didn't make them more enjoyable.
I don't recommend this game.

I have just finished playing Shaolin Mystery Tale of the Jade Dragon Staff. I liked the first Shaolin Mystery game I played and I expected something like this. So such a great relaxing game came as a surprise. It has so many pluses: incomparable graphics, soft soothing tunes and a great story. No vampires, no dead bodies. And I reckon it is the top HOS game as there are oodles of them. It doesn't matter that more often than not the locations are repetitive but as you have to look for different objects you still admire the picture quality and sound track. The search takes you to the city, forests, villages and even underwater. And the game enjoys another big plus: it is long. I spent all the free time I had in the evenings playing it. I really wish there were more games like this on the offer.

I have just finished playing Sacra Terra Kiss of Death CE. I seldom review games I play. Usually I do it if the game is very good or very bad. Alas this one belongs to the latter. I am really dumbfounded by the positive and laudatory reviews. But tastes differ.
I felt as if I were in horrorland not wonderland.You have to look for bizarre things or vice versa: you find things that are not supposed to be there in the first place. For instance: you are to find a piece of cheese (in the desert!!!) and give it to the mouse and then give the mouse to a panther in order to get the HO. HOGs is another story altogether: the same picture, only different tasks. I am sick and tired of looking for horse shoes, spectacles and the like. English is not my mother tongue and I wish I didn't have to look for polysemantic words like "bow" and the ilk.
I don't know why but most of the time there is no sound track and if you do have it it reminds you of the funeral tune.
Bottom line: instead of playing the bonus game I deleted the game for good.

It is really becoming harder and harder to choose the game you will enjoy playing. I have played half the demo and bought it. Big mistake: too much talking, too many light effects, mini games I have already played in other games. They make no rhyme or reason and have nothing to do with the game story.
I wish I could have swapped this CE game for another CE because I am not going to play it any more. Maybe I should have played it longer but that was too much for me.

When I bought Royal Detective: The Lord of Statues I did enjoy playing it: lovely graphics, fine HOGs, funny helpers. So when I finished it I bought: Royal Detective: Queen of Shadows without a shade of doubt. Wrong choice, wrong game. When you buy a game you are supposed to enjoy it. Not in this case: so much evil to fight and vanquish. Too tedious and monotonous as you have to fight monsters over and over again. You hop from place to place (luckily there is teleport) and try to defeat bad guys and girls who seem to multiply and get even more fierce. So it is harder and more complicated to combat them. Having tried to play the game to the end, I developed a headache. Getting hints from a Skull was the last straw.
I don't recommend this game.
