This is a wonderful game with the right balance of mini puzzles, HOS and in-game puzzles. It's exciting, intriguing and atmospheric. The graphics could have been a bit more interesting but they were okay. I'm prepared to overlook that and still give it five stars because it's special, unique and quirky but in a classy way. But most of all, it's memorable and I'll be playing it again at some point. You really feel ike you're on a journey in this game. It's quite sequential and well paced and puzzles are fun too. An unexpected treat. It delivered more than it promised. Even though, it's exciting, it still remains relaxing. I'm not quite sure how it gets that balance but it does. SPOILER The thing that makes this game memorable is...I'll say one word - Gnomes. Gnomes give this game a certain je ne sais quoi. If you like gnomes, you will love this game.
I recommend this game!

The Scruffs: Return of the Duke
Find the Lost Regalia that will help Grandpa Scruff prove that he is the true Duke of Scrufford in The Scruffs 2: Return of the Duke!
This is not a relaxing game but it is very funny. I laughed out loud at some of the animation sequences and there are lots of visual jokes in the graphics too. There's puzzles going on left, right and centre and you have to think for yourself a bit and show some initiative. You definately have to think outside the box sometimes but this is tempered with the fact that there are no silly solutions, nothing illogical and nothing too difficult to solve. It also makes for an exciting game. Graphics are nice and detailed and objects aren't too difficult to find. Scruff the dog is a good character and is also your unlimited, chargable hint. When he's not barking to help you find an object, he's trying to sleep. The barking might annoy you but it's quite an exciting and unique way to find a hint. I found the mini puzzles unimaginative but the skip button is fast charging. All in all, it's a great game if you need cheering up!

The graphics are excellent, very detailed. There's always something new to look at, and like onion layers, you keep peeling away. Lots of lovely animation gems in the HOS too. It is mostly hidden object scenes for the most part and some well executed and luxurious mini games at the end of every level/chapter. The mini games are like games you might buy and they could stand alone with some development from the programmers. I particularly liked the space invaders and salon game. I wasn't too keen on the riddle at the end of each chapter, but I got through it. There's no hints to help you through the riddle and if you get stuck, in any way, you're sort of up the creek without a paddle for a while.. The characters are fantastic and voice overs are faultless. I couldn't get the finale cinematic to play (but I think that's down to my computer not being fast enough). It's a great game. So much work has gone into it. I would also recommend the first game, 'Mishap: An Accidental Haunting'. It's very similar to this one.

I found the objects difficult to find in this game, a little bit too well blended. Sometimes though, even with a hint, it is difficult to find the object. Also the hint seems to take forever to charge up. I resorted to doing a lot of random clicking, which actually seemed to get the job done in the end. It's saving grace is in the ambient sound effects and graphics, which are a bit old school but still good, with little animation gems, which along with weather and other environmental elements, make the HOS feel very alive and atmospheric. That, along with the evocative character graphics make it worthwhile. The game play is good too, cluedo-esque but a little repetitive. You also get access to bonus gameplay by collecting at least 50 police badges, which are hidden throughout all scenes. This opens up the detective school, which to my shame, I haven't even looked at yet. Some reviewer I am.

In 'Jetsetter' you play a P.A to the stars and you'll recognise most, if not all of the celebrities you work for, as they are based on real ones. They've just changed the names. There is definately no such thing as unlimited hints in this game. You have to earn money to buy hints and you earn money by finding objects. You go to a shop to buy the hints but it's not called a shop or a store. You have to click on the 'Take A Vacation' menu. That will take you to 'Casino Gateway' which is where the shop is located also. I didn't go to the casino, I just bought hints. My fav hints to buy were the £300, the £400 and the £700, the rest were pretty useless. Also, in my opinion, the casino's in these games are a complete waste of time and money. Why risk losing hard earned cash, when you can earn well enough in the HOS with just a modicum of strategy? The technique I found most useful for earning money was to find 2 or 3 items on the list, that are located in the same area.. Note their positions in advance and then click them very quickly one after the other. The speed bonus is the key to this game or rather the key to getting hints. I found 2 or 3 in quick succession was manageable but the more the better. I found it challenging and enjoyable but I wouldn't say it was relaxing. It might get a tad less stressful as you progress and build up a small stash of hints but it is a tactical game and you can't really rest on your laurels too much. That's the best thing about it really, you work hard for your hints. There is a time limit as well, to add to the stress but it's quite a long time limit, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I never ran out of time. You search for the same types of object in every scene and there's not much variation but it was fun to recognise the celebrities.

This is one of the best HOG's I've ever played. Sometimes, it felt like I was playing one of the more expensive, epic and popular first person shooter games out there. It's got everything. Lush graphics, atmospheric sound effects and voice overs, riveting and well executed cinematics and cut scenes. Good storyline, strong believable characters and good game play. Good user interface. It's not too short and not too long and there's a satisfying, rewarding ending. I think if Goldilocks was at the three bears house, she would think this particular game was just right.

Very atmospheric. Relaxing and fun with decent game play and lashings of hidden object scenes, a real bonus if you like lots of no nonsense HOS. Very good voice overs and sound effects. I enjoyed finding the morphing objects. I loved the beginning cinematics/story.premise but felt it didn't follow through to a satisfying conclusion. Felt like I was left hanging. It ended abruptly, suddenly. The hint was slow charging and the skip button on puzzles took ages to charge. Discovered some glitches at the end of the game. I couldn't skip puzzles, the skip button wouldn't work, so horror of horrors, I had to enlist the help of my husband who is good at puzzles and he did the last few puzzles for me. So be warned, if puzzles aint your thing, you may find that you can't skip them towards the end of the game but it'll probably be no great loss, because the ending promises so much but delivers little. I still really liked it though. Quirky, unusual, old school-ish, but not too old to make it dated, yet it did become mysteriously clunky and glitchy at the end. Maybe it was the gnomes.

A straight forward HOG from the same people who brought you Farmscapes and Gardenscapes. It has luscious graphics and good sound effects. The hidden bonus items, like the magnet and the light bulb help you find objects. They are very cleverly hidden in each scene and are really fun to find, sometimes impossible to find, but that makes it challenging in itself. The objects themselves can be quite well hidden but there are hints in the form of two butterflies in every scene, plus several gold coins to add to the cash you make in the yard sales, which in turn, help furnish and decorate the barn. I like the fact that the difficulty level increases as you play but you also make more money for your barn. It does have its exciting, fun moments. I wouldn't say it was too relaxing as the customers are quite demanding but it's mostly warm and cosy and has a level of replayability.

A Match 3 game with a difference. It's Match 3 with combat added, which makes it quite unique. You play a girl battling all kids of creatures. Some of them are cute, funny and often times downright bizzarre, but very rarely scary. It's got 8 Levels to it, or rather chapters. At the end of each level, you will fight a boss monster. Once you get into the castle, the boss monster is a little more difficult to defeat than all the other boss monsters, but it's perfectly do-able. The actual last boss monster before the end of the game was quite easy to defeat, so I felt that they did that the wrong way round. Anyway, it's a tactical game and you have to think one step ahead before making your move, otherwise you will give your opponent the upper hand and a chance to attack. Good thing is, there is no time restriction. You can take as much time as you want to make your move. Always a good idea to find a four-in-a-row first, then you get a free move afterwards(or rather 2 moves for the price of 1) You get a chance to shop and buy limited equipment, basic armour and weapons. Mostly strong armour to defend against the many creatures you battle. I found that by Chapter 6 or so, you've bought everything in the shop, all the best armour and weapons. There's not a lot in the shop but it's still fun to buy stuff. There's no blood and guts shown in this game and when you or your opponents die, it's very subtle, like you fall asleep or something. I feel it had a great deal of potential to be a great game. More variety in the equipment/shop department would have been welcome and made the game more exciting. Also, you can only play one class, with one character and one gender. So quite limited and very little in the way of re-playability. Enjoyed it nethertheless though. Fun game.

I like this much more than a lot of the new Match 3 that are out there. It was relaxing and fun, yet exciting and quite challenging at times. Learning where everything is and how to get bonuses and how to shop and stuff like that, took a long time, as did getting ALL the trophies and all the equipment and furnishings for the pizza shop. I didn't get all the upgrades and trophes until Level 161. Yes, you read right. Level 161. And then I stopped playing but I could have carried on if I'd wanted to. I played this with a seasoned gamer (my husband). If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have got all the trophies and equipment. I tend to buy the Match 3 games for him, or for us to play together. Even he thought that some aspects were a bit confusing. We didn't even know we could shop for bonuses until about Level 50 or something. You can only shop for bonuses in game, while you're playing the level, as that's when you run up the cash for the bonuses. There are easy puzzles in between levels that you can skip and there's a time management element in there too. Customers come in while you play and you have to make them up a pizza by getting all the ingredients. It does get stressful and sometimes it seems impossible to fill the order. You just have to ignore them in those circumstances. I like the way the customers are always so polite and laid back even when you don't fill their order. They are usually so rude and bad tempered in other time management games. The food graphics will probably make you hungry, so best to play after a good meal.
