which was surprising, I expected better from this developer because it was just time to bring us something different from all their usual HOGs that are so worn out now. So anyway....
This game is just endless layers of junk topped with paste-ups of an interesting variety. The artwork is colorful and pretty to look at but it isn't saving it from being a let-down, imo. It really was not entertaining at all.
Click the star for hints, recharge is quick. The question mark reveals short, vague mini-game instructions. The games are within the HO levels and shown as a list item. 2 of the mini-games I came upon froze after I clicked the ? and my only resolve was to shut down. I hate having to exit in that way!! When I returned to the game I wasn't able to advance unless I skipped the mini-game, so that was not a good thing and lowered my star rating which is something I reluctantly had to do.
When the same thing happened twice again I just quit, to avoid the frustration, and won't try again. The games are skippable but I'd rather not. So I certainly won't buy this game, afraid more glitches will pop up along the way. Tiny Little Lion is getting sloppy, it seems. However, from the few levels I was able to play I felt the challenge was pretty good for that particular HO style and the visuals were nice.
Even with all the lovely, colorful artwork and interesting objects it all boils down to just another monotonous HOG that becomes boring all too soon. Mini-game problems, no earnings or incentives to add fun to gameplay, lack of features and options. Just click away the time in this lackluster game! Not my idea of fun and, sadly, I'm seeing that Tiny Little Lion is not the shining star it once was.
This game may be lots of fun for HOG fans but I need something more than what I found here. This developer is, imo, perfectly capable of doing better than this and all those other boring HOGs they've been dishing out these days. Until they come up with something really different I will have to pass on TLL games from now on. I can't recommend this game even though others may really have a good time with it.
Are these really known as mosaics? These puzzle styles here are not of interest to me, I always avoid them in other puzzle games. Many of the images are very pretty but nothing outstanding to encourage me to purchase. There's an assortment of pictures in each non-labeled grouping, not specifically related to anything in particular, so I feel there is really no need for the "categories".
There are 5 game modes which are just 5 different puzzle styles. Level of difficulty depends on how many pieces you choose for the puzzles. I could see where the challenge would greatly increase with the larger puzzle sizes because there are no piece shapes to help guide you. In my opinion, the game becomes boring without this feature and quite tedious. Very bare-bones content. The Hint gives you one piece-placement and recharge time is a big 30 seconds.
I have no clue, unless I'm blind, who the developer is but I have my suspicions! Name is mentioned nowhere and no credits were shown. So as far as I'm concerned this mystery developer can remain hidden because the game, in my opinion, is too lacking of everything that makes puzzles fun and interesting.
The demo wasn't very enjoyable, for me, but there were no tech issues within the 40 minutes I played and the music was pleasant. If the things that bug me don't bother you and just a collection of more puzzles to add to your stash is what you want, this might work for you. The selection of images isn't bad but graphics could be better.
Last year's Taxi of Miracles was a let-down but I am happy to see that Elephant Games has more than made up for it with today's holiday release. The game's demo had such a sense of wonderment, I enjoyed every minute of it.
The graphics are amazing and the characters are beautifully rendered. I love all their sweet names. The creativity shines in this game. The attention to artistic detail has made the visuals so delightful just to take the time to stop and enjoy them as you play. The design and colors of the toys and decorations are nicely done and everything is big and interesting, my old eyes had no trouble seeing anything in the festive scenes.
The tasks in the demo were not the usual ridiculous ones that irritate me in most other games. These were related to the story and that's one of the big reasons I enjoyed the demo so much. The Plus Items put themselves together after all the parts were found but I think I prefer the old way of doing it myself.
It wasn't always easy to determine what went where or how to use an item and that helped to increase the level of challenge both in the locations and the very interactive HO scenes. I liked that the HOPs were not the typical sort and also the objects were not hidden away in dark areas but still not super easy to locate. I think they were creatively designed and just really fun. The puzzles were not difficult and they were just right for me, and not the usual fare.
Imagination and effort were certainly at play here and I had a good 90 minutes of Christmas delight. I feel this game is a great choice for family entertainment, not being difficult to play, and the kids won't have to miss out because of scary images or anything inappropriate at all which has taken over the majority of BF games.
For me the CE content was a bit skimpy but it matters little here because I feel the game will be fulfilling without a lot of the fluff. The map was great, large and easy to navigate, tasks were kept within a calendar and the hints were managed by a cute little critter. The game played smoothly, no glitches, good pace, music was soft and nice.
Normally I'm not a fan of Christmas tales, don't own many, but I tend to be attracted to the Christmas Stories series more than the others. Elephant Games is a favorite of mine and I think they did a great job with this game from what I played in the demo. The demo usually deters me from buying a game, so for me this is a rare and pleasant surprise.
I'm looking forward to the Bonus Chapter because I want to go to Catstown. I hope to meet up with more unique characters with sweet names and a fun story to entertain me. I won't wait for a sale for this one!
I tried to avoid the Microsoft Visual C but it wouldn't let me bypass it no matter what. I had to uninstall/reinstall the demo and give in to the annoyance. I don't know why this has to be repeated for each game in this series!
Anyway, so here I finally arrived to see that getting ready for Christmas is just as bright and shiny as ever in this much anticipated holiday treat. Festive to the max! Actually the graphics seem to be even more dazzling than I remember from Number 13.
I enjoyed the demo so much which is always Easy Mode for me but Extreme Mode for the game is always my preference. Try it, you may be pleasantly surprised at the extra long item list it provides. I love the challenge of each level and I do believe that a magnifier would be greatly appreciated by everyone. I really hate that I had to resort to using a hint several times but didn't want to waste valuable demo time.
The scenes are so wonderfully colorful and are seriously overflowing with everything from a sleigh to a jingle bell to a pencil. What a super-challenge load of fun! Believe me when I say you will not be rushing through these levels. The objects are so well hidden and many items are very small. For me it was mind-boggling but I loved it all and simply for the fact that it instantly put me in the Christmas spirit.
Definitely, I will dip into my BF points for this delight! Casual Arts usually packs the CEs with so many bonus levels and games that I can never pass them up and I've never been disappointed.
but Ms. Holmes with her sharp detective skills usually make the cases interesting and engrossing. Let's hope it happens here! I like this series and own the previous games but it sounds like this one is missing a lot of what makes a game interesting, fun and satisfying. Still Sharlotte does sparkle in her cases and I enjoy her investigations.
Elephant Games seems to be slip-sliding away from the limelight they've shone in for many years. It really does surprise me! I share Sunnyglow's sentiments about the direction Elephant Games is taking. It certainly hasn't gone unnoticed. Eliminating favorite characters, shortening the games, watering down the adventure, paying less attention to quality has put up the red light just like that other you-know-who dev has done. Now I approach all their new games with caution, too often unhappy with what I find when expecting a fun, engrossing game well worth the $$.
The demo was pretty uneventful, graphics and color were good, the usual tasks were present. The scant puzzles and HOPs were familiar styles and had little challenge but they were okay. I'll wait for the SE version, makes more sense than buying a skimpy CE. My patience is getting a good workout these days!
Couldn't have come at a better time! I am so dreadfully unhappy with the games we've been getting these days. I play my old Spellariums and other oldies so often it's ridiculous! Each new Spellarium has something different to increase the fun and the challenge never waivers.
I love that Eric always has a new story, a new goal and a different town to build in each game and everything is so colorful. Towns have become more elaborate along the way, too. I really enjoy the mini games. They are done so well, especially the extra challenge in Difference and HOs that keeps them from being boring.
The game has become easier since my skills have improved but I still have to replay many levels to get it right because the board layout and even the power-ups always have something tricky going on. I love that! I always play Limited Moves and never use hints, Many of the old games don't have the hint option other than an occasional hint for a level that may need a hand to get you started. Less help means more strategy and that keeps it interesting and more of an accomplishment for me.
Always pristine graphics, unique board layouts and icons, ladybugs to run interference, fire to frustrate me and that one move left that requires replay. It all adds up to great entertainment and I believe it's one of the very best board games we have at BFG.
Well, the title made me think this would be a very nice game but it really was not and the music was OMG sad and bad. Lots of overgrown greenery with animals and misc items pasted onto the scenes, including a UFO and a pioneer covered wagon. Very few if any objects related to the garden theme.
Why?? I believe if you can't do it right, don't do it at all. Don't turn the game into a smorgasbord of the stuff that doesn't belong and fill it with things that represent the title. Takes the same amount of effort. I just don't get it!! They were uninteresting and didn't add any fun to it.
Sadly this is one blatant example of why gamers have become so unhappy with BFG. If the devs are so doggone lazy and BFG keeps letting them in, we are doomed, seriously! For me the monthly fee and cost of any game should earn me more than the pitiful games we routinely are offered. My $$ should be delivering fun and quality entertainment. I feel BFG, especially after the big change, is really letting us down.
Others may find this game relaxing and fun and enjoy the variety of mini games. I hope they like it more than me! The graphics are nice and colorful and there were no tech issues in the demo. I would suggest to definitely try before you buy!
Here's another of those Relax/Domini games that has a story that never materializes with characters or adventure. The puzzles and other content appear to be pretty much the same as in their other games of this style and I noticed familiar scenes as well. Graphics, art style, mechanics haven't changed. A carbon copy being called a new game?
The demo was boring like before. I found the HO scenes just a scattered bunch of unrelated items that also had nothing to do with the story that doesn't exist anyway. So I guess it really doesn't matter. The game is represented as something it really is not! Yes, I still try the demos looking for new and fun things and maybe even a real story. However I get annoyed at what I find instead.
I'm personally not very fond of Domini anymore but they should treat their die-hard fans to something much better than this! I wish the stories and entertainment were still the great quality that we all grew to love and expect from Domini.
This is, imo, THE best mosaics game ever! I love this series, not just your run-of-the-mill mosaics game. They're beautiful with interesting stories, the graphics are exquisite. Today's visuals are much different than in the previous games. The underwater characters and scenes are gorgeous.
The story can be disabled but I urge you to follow it to learn about the twin worlds, Azure and Crimson, and the devastation that awaits if Juliette and Raven fail to restore their balance. You need to find the crystals to rebuild the structures and need to keep a sharp eye out, as they fade in and out but hints are available.
If you tire of the story (it's long) and hate reading, you can skip the chapters whenever you want. The mosaic puzzles are a good challenge with locked colors, puzzles are labeled. Images are pretty and colorful. Progress is saved, replay is just a click away with the Try Again option. With the activities and 120 levels it is a lengthy game.
I feel it is worth every penny and when each Daydream Mosaics arrives I never wait for a sale. The demo was a nice hour you may want to check out, especially if you love underwater scenes.
I don't know if I'll like the game or not. The demo's activities consisted of lots of tasks, looking for evidence, even walking the dog after dousing a fire. So I was plenty busy without getting into the story.
Quite a number of puzzles were there and a few HOPs. I loved every one of them! They were complex and harder than what I am used to seeing in our games lately. All were really fun and time consuming. Graphics were great and colorful. Characters were looking good, voices were fine but the Scottish accent, barely detectable, was not so good.
I didn't see much of the woman in the mirror and assume I won't until much later in the game as there is so much to do that keeps the adventure out of reach. I think the game will be over-run by all the puzzles. The collectibles were hard for me to find. The puzzle pieces were a lost cause, I finally gave up to save precious demo time.
I'm very curious about what we'll find in the Mirror World and learn about what the evil entity is up to. The woman doesn't look terribly menacing in the brief glimpse in the demo. However I'm sure she's capable of creating plenty of fear and havoc. The story should always remain the main focus in a game and I really didn't see much of it in the trial time. That's why I'm not sure how I feel it. To me the story loses its "strength" when it is broken up so many times along the way. I want the adventure without so much of the other stuff interrupting. I'll wait for the SE version since I didn't enjoy the collectibles and I do want to enter the Mirror World. Hopefully my doubts about the adventure will be quashed and it will be a worthwhile purchase.
