If children were buying these games I think this dev would make a fortune! Coloring book material is not appealing to most adults and we are the ones spending the $$ on BFG. I really don't understand why there is so little creativity and imagination shown here when devs are supposed to be so talented. Surely they are capable of more than what is presented in this series!
The images are so unappealing and the colors are dreadful. Most are small and in the middle of the page with no surrounding background. That makes them uninteresting and too quick and easy. The free play option doesn't even make painting more fun because the colors are still ugly.
I had no desire to spend time unlocking the first level only to find more childish pictures. It happened to me enough times already! There are no wonderful surprises in the rest of the game. In spite of my complaints I do check out each demo. You never know when something might change. You'd think after 19 games and such low star ratings something would. But alas, not yet!
You'll be pleased with the game if you love HOGs, it isn't a HOPA. I don't know why a mystery is even mentioned. Again there is no storyline involved except in the misleading description of the game, so disappointment is likely if you're looking for any kind of action or adventure.
There are plenty of puzzles and HOPs of good variety, that's all. I actually enjoyed the puzzles quite a bit, some were familiar from other games. The HOPs were less fun for me because so many items were concealed in dark areas, some I didn't even recognize due to small size. Graphics are big, color is very good.
This definitely doesn't qualify as a CE. If you are a big fan of HOGs and can be satisfied without a real story as part of the entertainment, this will likely be a good purchase for you. However, I'd suggest trying the demo first as many gamers are unhappy with this type of game from Domini.
The demo was slow-moving. Everything I did led to nowhere so I made little progress in the investigation. I love crime solving but this case didn't present much that I would consider entertaining. Hopefully it improves after the demo.
Morphs are poisonous flowers, collectibles are patient photos. Boudoir items were an extremely poor choice, imo, purchased with pill packets. It's actually a hospital room so why not call it that? Items were easy to find in most scenes. Graphics are nice. a little dark, good color. Characters are great looking, voices not very expressive, good lip sync.
I was faced early on with the usual mundane tasks like digging, thorns, banishing wasps, shooing away an animal, locks and keys and, of course, using very silly makeshift items. There were just a couple of puzzles and HOPs in the demo. Not very challenging but I enjoyed them. I thought the HOPs were better than in the last game.
I'd like to shed more light on this murder case but nothing useful or eventful presented itself in the demo. No interesting clues or people to provide info. This won't be a purchase for me because I'm afraid the entire game might be boring and tedious, going by the demo. I've become cowardly when it comes to Domini games.
My head swims when I look at this sea of clutter. This developer creates the greatest assortment, most challenging puzzles for his collections. This edition is almost too much of a good thing and I know it will provide endless hours and beyond of entertainment.
Like the other games from Joe that I own, it will go unfinished because of the mega amount of puzzles. I've never completed an entire game, each one seems a bottomless pit. I love them and play them often, usually to break away from the usual boring games that we have too many of these days. The features/options and instructions are a necessity for me and I sometimes tend to have trouble finding my way around, if that makes any sense. It feels like I've returned to puzzles already completed when I re-enter the game after a break. Maybe the abundance just has my brain befuddled.
In any case you cannot find a better value. You positively get your $$ worth and then some. Joe's games are always top quality. Not just a bunch of easy-breezy junk piles and simple varieties of boring puzzles . These are beautiful, colorful, interesting and certainly NOT boring. If you are a clutter nut, look no further. This colllection has you covered! A great buy!
This game plays like the first Jake Everest. I don't like these Match 3s with all the big flashes and explosions. The boards and icons are dark as usual, obstacles, power-ups are always the same. The game is unattractive, the entire thing is just a copy of the others from this dev.
Graphics and story change a little bit, however, this is not a new game by any means. One of the things that spoils it for me is the very slow process of earning stars and upgrades for building. It takes forever. The goals become tedious chores and the buildings cannot be placed where you choose. For me it's too boring but you might love it.
If you love numbers and logic this will fix you right up. Sudoku has been around for ages but rarely on Big Fish. This is a great brain exercise and won't appeal to everyone. I can't endure too much at a time but I do love logic-based puzzles.
This one has beautiful pictures waiting to delight you for your efforts. The boards and their colored squares look plain and simple but you'll not too easily progress through the game. It's challenging and requires patience. I enjoyed the demo but only finished two puzzles. It was fun for a while just like the first Suguru until my frustration kicked in.
Give it a try and take your time, it isn't difficult to learn. It just isn't a game you can romp through quickly. Keep in mind that your solve may not be the right one and you may have to re-do which is frustrating. I used the hints way too often which finally made me want to give up. I did finish the demo because I wanted to see more pictures but was only rewarded with two.
So this will be a no-buy for me, it isn't the kind of challenge I consider fun for very long. I need more visuals and less numbers to keep my interest. This game seems more like work than play. Still, I believe it deserves 5 stars.
It will take more than fairies, potions and forest creatures to keep me interested and make this game fun. Usually I love medieval themed stories. Not this time!
The graphics were beautiful, good voice overs and lip sync, characters look great. Muting all or some of the sounds is a great feature. A quiet game without little distractions. Like the ever-hooting owl for instance! The map was wonderful. Collectibles were very easy to find in spite of the dark scenes.
I enjoyed the puzzles/games much more than the HOPs. The dark HOPs and 5 second click penalty were annoying. Some items unrecognizable, some too small, some hard to determine where to use. The HOPs I did like were fun because they were more challenging than usual.
In the demo I was greeted with a lot of tasks that were bothersome. I was on a mission to save someone, not find and fix silly things along the way. The game went very slowly, not much going on, I aborted the demo with about 15 minutes left. Don't feel like I missed anything worthwhile. I was mostly just collecting needed parts and tools.
Domini fans will likely enjoy the game with it's theme and magical creatures. I found it not it not very entertaining.
Why does something have to be broken or missing right in the beginning? And why does Malcolm walk so funny? I didn't care for the graphics, characters were stiff and lip syncing was off, no facial expression. The voices were very good. The bee shaped puzzle pieces were easily found, colectibles were small, dark, harder to spot.
Puzzles and HOPs were simple to mildly challenging and skipping was an option which is a good feature. The usual tasks seem to be waiting in every corner but I do try not to get annoyed at them all. They are just so over-used and silly, something new could surely replace them. I had trouble remaining interested in the game. My focus on the story kept waivering. It was too similar to old camp stories and movies.
And frankly I am really tired of the locks, keys, smokers, etc. that can't be avoided to make progress. The demo moved along at a decent pace at times but still didn't provide that "have to buy it" feeling. Elephant Games usually brings us quality games and this one seems to have enough activities and bonus content to keep it interesting for many of you. However I guess I just failed to see the attraction.
Each game consists of matching little pictures that uncover a large image depicting the theme of each category. You can move the pics around to reveal the ones underneath, like in the clutter games. The Hidden Pairs was challenging with everything too well concealed. The other categories were super easy.
The number of items matched is at bottom of screen along with clock showing time used. The few features include Hint, Help, Shuffle. If you want to leave your current game and choose another you have to return to menu. That, for me, is a big annoying negative. Graphics are sharp, nice colors, images are so-so. However the Photo Gallery contains gorgeous images which can be saved. Check it out! Flower Cards are all locked, not sure what is required to unlock them.
The demo was boring, not much of a reward for your efforts. The visuals in the games are underwhelming. Nothing really special except for the Photo Gallery, just another twist on another match game. It will likely please you if endless matching is your thing. With nothing to break up the monotony it would not be a good choice for me.
The game is not appealing to me. I'm long past the age when these types of games were popular. They may attract fans of bygone years who love the memory but I always found them too hectic. This one is colorful, somewhat challenging, graphics are more suited to youngsters. If you love arcade games, this isn't a bad one.
With so many HOGs, M3s and paint games most of the time, I seldom make a purchase. Where are the good thought-provoking games that absorb our attention with a fun challenge and interesting storyline?
I gave the demo a fair chance, the game was okay, just not my idea of worthwhile entertainment.
