The gameplay reminds me a little of Love Meow. A little confusing at first, lots to learn. I don't think it's worth the CE price despite the extras. These games usually offer plenty in the SE versions.
Grandma's house is full of spirit dwellers since her death. We cleanse the house of them with magic talismans and decorate the terrace with the coins we earn. The Game Modes are Relaxed, Limited Moves and Timed. They can be changed at any time while playing. The Tile of Light is your "weapon". The dwellers are usually located at the edges of the board.
Destroy all the pumpkins to win the gold cup and top reward. Matches of 5 or more earn coins. Silver, Bronze and Gold Cups each earn a specific amount. Power-ups and Bonuses are acquired in various ways. The tutorial pops up to explain them as they become available. You'll find strategy quite helpful at times but I didn't find the game super challenging, except in Timed Mode.
I played a few mini games and they were fun. The Memory Board was challenging because it didn't allow many moves. The HO game was a bit of a challenge. The demo was fun but I wasn't inspired to buy the game. But I think many of you will enjoy it,
Heaven knows I don't need another one but couldn't resist the SE. I play Joe's games so often and each time it feels like a brand new game, I own all but two of them. They are overflowing with clutter and puzzles!
Due to the staggering amount of entertainment yet to be enjoyed in my large collection I need this SE like a hole in the head but decided to just go for it. The replay value is outstanding and I'm sure I've not even played most of the games yet their entirety.
Joe is a brilliant man who uses his talents to the max to bring us a never-ending supply of fun, challenge and beautiful puzzles in his games. And the clutter is amazing, much more fun and interesting than my own!!
Not Elephant Games' usual quality and CE content. When you consider this CE is only a few hours long that means the demo uses up a good chunk of the game. That makes it not a good value at all. In order for me to buy a CE I have to get a lot more for my $$ than this.
The graphics were drab in color, not as sharp as usual but nice artwork. The sound was on again, off again in parts of the demo. There weren't many HOPs and games, the collectibles were non-challenging. I enjoyed the puzzles more than the HOPs and they easy enough to avoid skipping any,
The demo dragged on with lots of tasks and little of the action. Changing the plots of our precious books is so mean! I thought it would be an adventure into history, fantasy, folklore but nothing materialized to pique my interest. I was bored! I wanted to find out more about the "enemy" and meet some of the characters of these stories. However, I won't be purchasing the game to satisfy my curiosity. The SE version, maybe!
Just what we needed! Another visit from the Walker family and so soon after the last one. I don't enjoy rummaging through their clutter to remove a load of sun emblems, food items and images all suited for a child's game.
The puzzles are not fun, I find them frustrating despite their simplicity. Numer 18 is just as boring and non-challenging as all the others in this series. I'm sick to death of animal families with their junk piles trying to make me think it's so cute and entertaining, when it's just the opposite, no matter what kind of story is attached.
In the beginning these games were fun for something to do at the end of a tiring day, without immersing myself in a busy HOPA. But they became boring along the way. Here we are, 18 games later and everything remains the same old riff-raff. So there's really no need, at least for me, to spend $$ on something I already have. At least the replay value holds up!
Many of you probably love this series but I am just tired of these types of clutter games and the cartoon characters. It's a quality game if you are into this style. There are lots of levels and puzzles to keep you busy.
This game came out days ago! Rather than a review this is a "heads up" so you are aware of the one that belongs in this spot. See it under 'All New Releases'.
Amanda's Magic Book 6 is Today's Feature and was posted as the Early Access for a few hours yesterday. Big Fish is inconsistent, frequently, with the time that they make the new games available.
Charlie made a wish while he and Amanda were going on vacation and it landed them in a fairytale book. A shady sorcerer offered him the deal of a lifetime, so let's see how that goes for Charlie. It certainly didn't help the game!
It's pretty much a carbon copy of Book 5. Same format, same flashy explosions, choose your morph preference, remove spiderwebs, clear specified items etc., etc. The upgrades are unappealing, no choice of where to place them. That works if you like building to be plain and boring. The first one was easy to earn, don't know what it takes for the next one. But I got tired of trying, not worth it. Cute story but not enough fun, it became boring early on. Graphics were plain in design and not very colorful, the boards were various sizes and shapes but it didn't improve the gameplay.
Big Fish, why are the Eary Access games arriving so inconsistently? This one arrived early eve instead of usual 3 a.m. EST. The times change from day to day frequently, lately. And, yes, that does make a difference to many of us.
And it still takes several attempts to submit my reviews! Why isn't the review page fixed yet???
Wow! Halloween Trouble was bad enough but it really took a nose dive with Number 3! There's way too much going on to keep track of it all and the tutorial is practically useless. There's too much to read and it advances too quickly.
The entire game is utterly boring, puzzles not fun and redecorating was dreadfully unappealing, not to mention the dark, ugly graphics. Obstacles were challenging, especially the annoying fire that didn't stay lit long enough, which resulted in a lot of starting over. Bonuses were typical for this series.
Even with the abundance of features and flashy bonuses, it wasn't enough to undo the negatives. I would suggest to take caution if you are considering purchasing this game!
I bought the CE which was my only TM purchase since 2014. My skills were rusty after the long hiatus but refreshing them didn't take long with this game.
It's about Alice returning to Wonderland but a mysterious sleeping sickness put everyone out of commission. Now, after awakening, there's lots to do in preparation for her arrival. The game was a slow start but soon picked up and turned into a fun adventure.
Other than a couple of problems collecting what I needed, because I missed an important task, progress went well. Money was easy to keep in abundance once I figured out the correct order for gathering my resources and upgrading the buildings. There was a good variety of tasks, the game was quite busy, there are plenty of levels.
I loved the characters, the graphics are very colorful and sharp. It was a lot of fun searching for the culprit(s) of the long snooze. But with the help of a friend it all came to light and my first suspicions were surprisingly wrong! I really enjoyed this cute game and hopefully you will, too! I think the CE is a great choice for the extra levels.
I ended up not purchasing the CE but I'm looking forward to the SE. For once I had no complaints about the demo as the tasks weren't a royal pain and it contained more of the story than usual. I loved every HOP and puzzle. They were a good variety and quite creative, and kept to the fearful feel of the story's theme which made them more fun!
Each chapter is a different story in a different video game, there are 3 and you play a role in each one. There are choices to make that determine your characteristics and you have the daunting task of facing your worst fears. Choices matter! I think this game will be a great value. The premise of the story makes it creepy, the choices keep it interesting, the HOPs and puzzles are a little different. Also being able to replay previous chapters taking a different "route" means new ways to face your fears, for even more fun. I always appreciate Elephant Games, they do a great job!
After trying for 8 hrs to open this game, I am finally rewarded! Friendly Fox is always reliable for quality games and I wasn't disappointed. It's been quite a while since our last one, so I was anxious to jump in!
Detective Agatha is investigating a rash of strange events that begin in New York City and spread to London and Paris. The Phoenix is the foe in NYC. Let's see what's really going on! Many of the clues are pointing to Harry Houdini who seems like an unlikely suspect to me. And what about the chaos in the other famous cities? Agatha will be worn to a frazzle with these perplexing mysteries to solve! Seems like a great game ahead!
The demo was fun, I wasn't burdened with a crazy amount of boring tasks. The action started right away for a change so I was very pleased. The HOPs and puzzles were a good variety. However a couple of the HO scenes were a bit dark and made the list items, especially the silhouettes, hard to see. Plus some were quite small. The puzzles were very easy. In fact the entire demo wasn't challenging at all. Maybe playing in the most difficult mode will remedy that.
The cast of characters so far looked and sounded great, except for Lt. Brooks. Didn't like her voice, didn't suit her appearance. Graphics were sharp, scenes/locations were full of interesting misc. Colors were good. Appreciated the pull-out tab for collectibles and morphs. The objects were small, in dark areas. Collectibles easier to find than morphs, only because I never saw anything actually morph. I would just accidently click on the right thing.
I've followed the Dark City series from the start, only played one game that wasn't especially all that. So I.m inclinded to buy this one today. There is worthwhile extra content in this CE which make it much more attractive than those from other devs for a long while now. Thought there was a good sale for today?! Now I don't see it! Will purchase if there is one.
