You are soon to find out and if like me, will have fun doing so. I own the CE and feel that "Five Orange Pips" has a better story than the first release. I enjoyed this game a lot and although it has only three chapters, there is plenty to do. Without the Bonus Chapter it may be just a few hours long. I play slowly to prolong the fun and enjoy the scenery so the SE would still be fine with me.
The HOGs and puzzles were entertaining and not terribly difficult. But these were all average challenge, keeping it possible for beginners to enjoy without much frustration. The graphics were very nice, excellent coloring and I liked the characters. A friend, who happens to be Doctor Watson's grandson, has joined Ms. Holmes to help solve the mystery at hand since he also received 5 orange pips.
It all makes a fun and interesting little mystery game, at least for me. There are times when I just don't need or want all the bells and whistles or nonsensical stories and I think we have far too many demonic type games. So Ms Holmes provides that necessary little change that I find refreshing.
Your Natasha is missing, you arrive in the USSR to find her. It won't be easy. I predict danger ahead! Deja Vu is so different from our usual games. I played demo in Casual Mode, still not so ez-pz. Exceptional graphics, color, sound, excellent music. There is a good journal, a very simple map that looked like it would not be helpful but I may be wrong, didn't try to use it. The map was created by gluing its pieces together after found in hidden object scene.
HOGs were complex, some items quite small, loved the challenge. Great puzzles. Achievements, 30 collectible Russian dolls, extra hints available, 10 sec hint and skip in Casual. The voices/accents were awful, IMO. In your search for Natasha, the choices you make will either help or threaten your chances of reuniting with her. Good tutorial, basic options and settings.
It being 4am all of a sudden, had to call it quits with 15 min left. The demo was really fun, accomplished most tasks without much frustration, lots to do. The game ran smoothly on my PC, except for some brief sound stuttering in the beginning. I really appreciate the different storyline and that the game presented a satisfying challenge for a change. It also included interesting facts and some historical events pertaining to the USSR of yesteryear.
Overall, I felt Deja Vu was very entertaining and interesting based on the demo. So much so, that I purchased right away. I think it may be a long game. I am so happy that it is a quality SE that gives us some extra content without the hefty price tag. My opinions may not agree with others, so the demo is always handy-dandy when something different comes along. For what I like in a game, I think this one was a good choice.
I do hope Big Fish will bring us more games that aren't steeped in evil, demons, over-done fantasies and under-done CEs. I also think we need stand-alone SEs with quality content and good stories that make sense. Who can afford CEs every time? I sure can't!!
I own the CE and enjoyed the game. The amusement park theme made it colorful and a little more interesting. Yes, there was a cheesy monster trying to be sinister looking but he was very cartoonish and definitely not scary. Still, the storyline was entertaining and the CE content was ample enough. The HOGs were well done, the games were not too difficult. Morphs and collectibles were easy to spot. The graphics were nice and clear, lots of color, so-so characters. I finished the game including BC in 4 1/2 hours. It moved along at a good pace, no tech issues. SE is coupon worthy and a great game for beginners. I like cheesy sometimes! This Fright Chasers was a fun break from what I typically choose
I do own too many already. The game was novel at the time and the penguins were cute, I got caught up in nonograms big time! The mosaic games are very relaxing even with the challenge they present. Great replay value! Fantasy Mosaics is really top quality. The graphics are crisp and bright, there are many options for tiles and the colors are bright and beautiful. The images are really cute and creative, they are easily recognized and labeled. As always the features, hints, boosters, array of colors, the fun decorations greatly enhance the game. But for me they have become boring simply because there is never any change. I really enjoy the few new mosaic series offered on Big Fish, a refreshing change from our adventurous penguin family. I do hope Fantasy Mosaics creates something different and possibly other cute characters in future releases.
I was delighted to see this new Paint By Numbers today and made a beeline to the Buy Button. This game genre is my go-to when I am having my evening coffee and listening to the silence. What better way to be creative, too, when I haven't one artistic brain cell working, by day's end.
The game is working smoothly on my PC, no problems with the previous 2 releases. I like the different shapes in the pictures and the images I have finished so far are nice and colorful. Unless a color is "muddy" I appreciate all tones and shades of the vast palette, IMO bright and bold is not always a good thing. Coloring is my favorite hobby and though I can't customize the pictures here, it is still quite enjoyable.
Paint By Numbers is fun, relaxing and challenging. The challenge for me is mostly due to the too-big cursor. There are just a few changes I would like to see...the cursor needs to be a smaller different shape & more precise, we definitely need MORE images, larger would be nice and not so many teeny-tiny pieces which are a real pain sometimes.
Just as with Pixel Art, I prefer the more intricate busy designs with lots of colors involved. The challenge is very satisfying. We are seeing more complexity in Pixel Art and I am sure that Paint By Number will bring this about as well. Overall, I really like this game and will buy them all. There are many more available that Big Fish is very slow on delivering, including Pixel Art.
I am very happy with today's release, unlike my cats who prefer playing with my colored pencils and laying on my books! Oh well, can't please everyone!!
Give the demo a whirl. If you haven't tried this kind of game before and are into Zen, you may have found a new goodie!
I feel nothing here justifies the extra $$ for the CE, but the storyline was good enough to catch my attention. It is different from the previous releases with an updated theme and modern looking scenery. The robots add more of an adult feel to the game, a very good change for this series. I was so sick of the creepy puppets and basically the same evil deeds repeated in each game. In the beginning it was so unique and bizarre.
"Fatal Mistake" has a good story behind it and the characters are interesting in action and appearance. I love the graphics and the rich colors, AMAX always does a smashing job on them. And the new look offers lots of visual appeal. The tasks are not bogging me down, so the game is moving along quite nicely. There's a good amount of action, not a lot of "dead time" that brings on boredom. I don't find it particularly challenging, but sometimes I like that.
I love the HOGs, all interactive so far and there is a good variety. I don't care much for most of the mini games I have encountered and there are usually too many of them in today's games. I think it a better idea to insert more story and adventure. The game, according to other reviews, isn't very long for a CE. But I usually take my sweet time so it will entertain me for quite a good while. I hope the Bonus Chapter brings more action to the table. Sometimes the BC can be just a big flop!
I tend to agree with another reviewer about the unnecessary animal sounds. They don't belong in a game that features no animals in the story. Though not terribly irritating, I would prefer not hearing them. I think background sounds should always relate to the story's theme. Same goes for music, if it doesn't fit the game, it just adds nothing but distracting noise.
Overall, I am enjoying this new PuppetShow release. I liked the demo but wasn't keen on buying the CE that was so short on extras and playtime. My decision to buy came during a weak moment when I just couldn't wait to see more of this new cyborg story.
I would actually love more games with cyborgs/robots, UFO's, aliens, sci-fi elements. Something more futuristic that adults of all ages can enjoy. Not just mad scientists or characters like the PuppetShow professor.
The first release was excellent and "The Stolen Freedom" is great fun as well. I bought without trying the demo, since I was confident of its quality based on the previous game. The puzzles are logic based and challenging, the difficulty level rising as the game progresses. The storyline is interesting and I love that Terrible Cat with his menacing glare.
Again there are 100 levels and 40 bonus levels. Each unlocks as you complete the puzzles successfully. The finished images are easy to recognize and they are also labeled. I enjoy trying to guess what they are as they are taking form and love the fun variety.
This series is especially appealing to me because the grids and tiles are large, preventing eye strain. The numbers along side and across the top of grid are also much easier to see, in other mosaics games I easily make boo-boos because their colors blend too much into the background. I also love the option of the dark background cells, making the colors stand out more. There are 12 tile styles and 12 designs for the empty cells. They add so much more fun to this already terrific game. I like trying them all. For the colored tiles, I like most of them, not so fond of the lego one. My favorite of the others are the paw print, the brown and blue design, and the bold crosshatch pattern. These options all make the game more interesting, I think.
There are 4 play modes. I don't like Easy Mode at all, placing the colors for you. I prefer the Normal Mode most times but Zen is really fun and forgiving of your mistakes, lets you correct your wrong choices. The boosters are good and simple, they have to recharge after each use. You are allowed 4 mistakes, lives are earned and lost throughout the game, depending on errors made as you go. There are different colored crystals to earn that are important to unlocking the bonus levels. Great incentive to strive for perfection which really frustrates me to no end sometimes. But restarting a level a zillion times isn't so bad, once you get used to it! lol
The background scenes are very pretty in Legendary Mosaics, nice colors though not as vibrant as in Rainbow Mosaics. That, to me, creates a sort of dimness or faded appearance to the graphics but not enough to deduct a star from my review. The instructions are quite adequate, easy to understand and the features and options are great, the settings are basic and the game presents no tech issues.
Everything is really top-notch in this new mosaics series. I still haven't finished the first Legendary Mosaics and now I'm 23 levels into the new one. I do hope we get to see more from this developer, they deliver the quality that we are always craving and seldom receive in games these days.
I love that our meandering little robot is back. He isn't off to a good start as a detective. I'm sure his mishap will create another cute tiny tale. Helper never intrudes on the fun I'm having, I enjoy the company. lol. I achieved 9-1/2 levels when the demo ended and the game ran smoothly as usual. It was a sweet diversion from a rainy, gloomy morning.
The game starts out with a short hidden object game, easy. It has 130 levels and 14 tile styles. I like the new look of the color wheel. The instructions came in 2 parts, easy to grasp if new to nanograms. The coins earned as the game progresses will buy additional levels of the power-ups or decorations. I love the cute doggie power-up!
The colors are vibrant, the images are really cute except the first one was awful. The tiles are easy to see without straining and the numbers along the side and top of the grid seem easier for me to see this time. Usually I struggle because their color blends in too much with the background.
The puzzles in Rainbow Mosaics are logic-based and challenging. The challenge grows as you get further into the game. But Relaxed Mode comes in handy if the going gets tough, I like being able to switch if need be. You are allowed 4 errors at the start of each level. I use hints rarely, only in Expert Mode, but makes it feel like cheating.
The graphics are again crystal clear and brightly colored which has always been a big plus for me. The images are easy to recognize and they are labeled. And Helper is cute in his detective garb. Rainbow Mosaics is a terrific series and I am so happy that we have a new release today, which I scooped up immediately. It is a quality mosaic game and has great replay value.
Note: In options when choosing Relaxed Mode, the setting would still indicate Expert Mode even though I unchecked it. After several attempts to change it I just gave up and started the game. I found it to be in Relaxed Mode. Maybe this was just my be-stupid-day and you won't have that problem.
I played the demo in Relaxed Mode for 7 levels to save time and Expert for the rest. Expert is still a little tough for me, depending on the level and my ability to concentrate at times.
Thanks Big Fish for RB Number 13. One of my top 3 favorite series to help ease the stress and solitude while staying safe, staying home, and fighting off the boredom.
I am a happy traveler on this latest road trip. The demo convinced me to purchase this CE and continue my journey. Normally, I don't buy the Collector's Edition for this type of game, but this one has a lot going for it and the abundance of extra content is promising a good, long game. The mascots are a fun addition and I always love earning achievements.
Each scene is just packed with hidden items, finding the cats earns lots of extra points, I like the games. There are several play modes, good options and features, the graphics are A-OK. There is no magnifying glass and, yes, some items are quite small. But I personally don't feel deducting a star is fair, the quality of the game remains excellent, and is mucho fun. I wear glasses and my old eyes are doing okay with the HOs, I just use my own magnifier when necessary.
These road trip games are great fun for the entire family, no age limits, no objectional content, demon-free. I feel good recommending this CE and today's sale takes a little ouch out of the price.
Not very challenging, basic high/low, several choices for card styles, contains a variety of games that I don't feel add anything special, except they will help ease the "ho-hums" of playing through the 100 solitaire levels. Mini games are okay but I really hate mahjong and found it cannot be skipped and that just irritates the heck out of me.
48 clues have to be found in the form of puzzle pieces in order to advance to a mini puzzle that when completed, exposes the criminal. There are wild cards in most levels, the booster cards have to be charged before using, I liked the Good and Bad Luck Cards, and the Police Tape seems to be the only obstacle card so far and the Search Warrant card is needed to remove the tape. The levels can be replayed to help you earn all 3 stars, I always appreciate that.
I am enjoying playing even though it isn't what I typically go for when I look for a solitaire game. Just playing my solitaire collection to death and looking for something a little different, I purchased with coupon. I think it will serve me well when I need a little down time from a busy day.
