this one was just okay for me. Right off the bat I had a problem with getting the second sea shell collectible. No matter how many times I clicked it, it would not work. The game kept making me "click to continue" and by the time that was done my brother pulled me away. I tried to go back down the stairs to get it but the game would not let me. I restarted the game three times but no go. So I resigned myself to collecting all but one. Not a good beginning.
As far as production values this one was very good at that. The art work was lovely and they had good use of color. The cut scenes were well done as were the VO's. The storyline was okay.. your parents disappear along with the ship they are in, into some kind of weird storm while you and your brother sit in a lifeboat and watch. It reappears later and the adventure begins. Not the most original or exciting but it worked. My biggest disappointment with this one I must say. is the lack of achievements and the one collectible. That was the best part of the other games. IMHO. There were complex achievements to achieve and extras to collect. In this one they have really dwindled down to only the very most basic. Not that much fun. nothing much to strive for and therefore very little replay value. When you came to the scenes that told the story for example each scene used to have 4 missing pieces.. this game each scene had only one.
So although this dev always offers a beautiful looking game this one just did not have the chops. It was a very basic game with very easy HO scenes #although they did contain a morphing object#, a sort of been there seen that storyline and not a lot of mini games. . I thought it was a tad on the short side and didn't offer much originality or challenge. I really missed the detailed achievements, some length and quite frankly, anything different. So an okay game for me with a few glitches. In the bonus chapter I had a click to continue icon that would not go away even when I exited the game and came back, that blocked some of the items on the HO scene list. So this one, for me at least was a decent game but just not as detailed and polished as we come to expect from the dev. maybe the honeymoon is over?
I recommend this game!

This was a very balanced, well put together, well thought out game. it had a really good balance of HO scenes, mini games and inventory objects with lots of collectibles, morphing objects and achievements thrown in.
I liked the different storyline. A ghost ship appears out of nowhere and being the good reporter that you are , you board it to follow the story. Then a murder takes place... or does it? It keeps the game interesting right through to the bonus chapter. Some good length here makes it possible to really get into this one. The graphics were crisp and clear with good use of color. A fair amount of interaction with the characters, some good VO's and your character speaks as well which is always nice. I did enjoy this one. If I had one criticism it would be that out of the numerous mini games, not one was at all difficult or made me really rack my brain. They were all on the very easy side. I don't mind that with some or even most but there must be at least a couple that you really have bear down and focus on. But aside from that, this was quite an entertaining one and I really enjoyed it. This series seems to get better as it goes along.
I recommend this game!

This one really had a bit of everything. First the use of color and the graphics were top notch. The scenes were really detailed and quite beautiful. This, in my opinion was ten fold better than the last game in this series. Although we are still chasing the illusive illusionist, making the storyline a bit same old, there was nothing same old about the rest of the game and some good length meant you could really get into this one.
Lots of HO scenes with interaction, some of which were none too easy. yayy. I loved the one where what you were looking for morphed into other things. Made it trickier to find. Some silhouettes also. There was a nice mix here. But the best part for me was the mini games. Such a selection.. it was wonderful. Everything from creating shapes with cards, guiding a needle of a record through a maze, connect the circles with lines and my personal fave.. guiding a person through a maze as they get pelted with arrows, melted and sliced in half by a sword. Very inventive and fun fun fun. Some good achievements to strive for and collectible cards that also morph kept this one entertaining.
I love it when devs put little extra details in their games. This one had a lot of them like lizards that run across the screen, chickens that jump and lay eggs and blocks that spell out the word fear when you click on them. For me this shows the care and attention to detail that I look for when playing a really good game.
Overall I thought this one was really well done with as much care and attention in the extra chapter as the main game. All games have sort of he same with the inventory objects, HO scenes and the it's locked, it's missing thing. So for me.. where they get to shine are storyline, mini games and extras or special effects. This one did a really good job of offering a large selection of mini games and great graphics with some extras making it really fun. Enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Here is a gorgeous game with plenty of extras and a fun storyline. Morphing objects and collectible tickets that were not overly easy to find. This was a murder mystery that offered fun interaction with the "bad" guys and some really good VO's. The HO's were a good mix with various levels and challenges.
I found the mini games to be fun to complete but for me a bit too easy. I like to be really challenged by at least some of the mini games but these were completed very quickly and we moved on. There were some really good achievements to strive for though. There was one that gave you a star for completing the game in 4,5 or 6 hours. Whenever I see these I know that I will not earn that one, as I like to really take my time and not rush. However I did earn the 6 hour one without even trying. So that kind of speaks to how short and how easy this one was. There was never a time when I had to rack my brain to try and figure out what do next or a time when I had to really strive hard to complete a mini game.
So what was there was amazing. The graphics are really top notch and the game was a complete package with extras to do after. But at least for me, it didn't have anything I could really sink my teeth into. It flowed along smoothly and easily to a rather quick ending. The extra chapter was also short and easy. I will recommend it because it is quite well done. Beautiful with an engaging storyline and a good mix of mini games and HO's but short and without much challenge. I think if you just don't expect too too much that you will enjoy this one.
I recommend this game!

Wow this was a good little game. A SE with achievements. Good graphics, use of color and plenty of locations to explore. It does follow a pretty standard theme of a car crash and then entering different worlds through portals to find "Totems". You then return and place the totem to open the next portal. Hopefully this will allow you to find your way back and change your life.
This one was a bit HO heavy but that for me was a good thing. There were plenty of mini games also, that were not overly difficult but fun to complete. All in all I quite liked this one. Had they added collectibles you would not have known it was only a SE. It was a pretty high quality production with good VO's, a nice mix of adventure play, mini games and HO scenes and several different worlds to explore. Best part for me was that no one went missing or was kidnapped. I just can't do that storyline another time. This one was good fun and I liked it.
I recommend this game!

First was the storyline. I liked the mystery of the people swapping lives and the murders that come as a result. Much better than the... I can't stand it anymore... gone missing/been kidnapped theme. Gorgeous art work. I love the details like the cars whizzing by on the bridge outside the building and the full moon. Really lovely.
There were collectible masks that were very easy to find. I do wish this dev would go back to some of their earlier days with more than one collectible and even mystery collectibles. For those who don't care for them, they can play the game just as easily without doing that part but for us who really love them, one easily found mask per location can get a bit mundane. Nice collection of achievements and 10 morphing objects located in some of the HO's added to the game. I do always enjoy the variety that this dev uses in their HO scenes. There were other extras also. You could go back and play all the HO's over again to try and get a perfect score and there was the hunt for souveniers (sp?) at the end.
The mini games had a good selection.. most were pretty easy although I did have to skip the one with letters as I just couldn't figure out how to get them to move. I tried looking in the SG but it offered no help. They would light up but that's it. Otherwise they were pretty good but that one did ruin my achievement.
Over all I would say this was quite a good game. The VO's and cut scenes were well done. However perhaps because I own every single game they have put out, I must add that at least for me, they are starting to blend together a bit without anything to set each one apart. We always get the missing/locked stuff so the way to be different is storyline, mini games and special effects. To be fair, what they do is good but it does seem to be becoming a tad repetitious. Having said that, I do recommend this game especially if you don't own a ton of their previous offerings.
I recommend this game!

I liked this one. It had some decent length to it and I really liked the use of color. There was one collectible and they were not that easy to find. I did get every single one of the achievements, so they were pretty easy. Use no hints, find all the collectibles etc. The storyline was different (thank god) with an infection taking over places and people. You have a gift of light and that seems to be the one thing that destroys this infection. I did also like that my character actually spoke.
You had the usual four worlds. The house and three portals. A steam punk one, an art one and a pirate type one. No special effects like fireballs zipping around but there were a lot of rooms and locations to visit. As always the locked and missing, which brings me to where devs get to shine and that's the mini games. I liked several but the one that stood out for me was a change the color blocks one where I had to toil a bit on the third level. Some of us really like to have to work to solve the mini games. I for one and really disappointed when we can just breeze through them.
So all of this plus a little cat helper and three abilities to use kept this one interesting. The bonus chapter was also long and took you to the old west. It had a surprise ending which I liked as well. So this was a pretty good game that a lot of work went into. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next installment.
I recommend this game!

I did enjoy this one. The art work..as always from Eipix was spectacular. Lots of warm colors like reds and glowing warm golds for the lighting. Super detailed rooms, some with thunder sound effects etc. Really well done. The HO scenes were great. I especially liked the find the morphing objects to get the list ones. Who doesn't love morphing objects? The match three game was extra fun mostly because you didn't have to wait for each line to finish so the screen was exploding everywhere all at the same time. Made it fun. I liked the way the inventory, map, SG and puzzle instructions would fade in and out as you used them or didn't. Nice not to have it there when you weren't using it. The extra chapter was good and long and the collectible eyes carried over into it. There were also a lot of spirits to talk to who's VO"s were very good.
My not so great stuff with this game came with the storyline and the mini games. HOW MANY TIMES?? can we play the kidnapped/gone missing theme?? How many??? I just played another one where a little girl was kidnapped as a child then in the extra chapter as an adult. Here it's the daughter in the main game then the wife in the extra. Just over and over and over. It is really starting to drive me crazy. Could we please put in a little effort and think of a different plot?? Is this really the only one available?? Okay okay I'll not get on a rant but really!! Come on!! STOP already!!
The other thing for me was the mini games. Here is where the devs gets to really shine. Most games have the combo of HO scenes and the missing pieces and locks but the mini games are where they can really show some innovation. And while I did have some fun with the pin ball one and a couple of others, for the most part they were dead easy and could be done in a minute or two. Now maybe part of that is because I am an experienced player and have seen them many times before but they just didn't shine here for me.
But overall I must say that I did enjoy this one. Despite it's done to death kidnapped plot and some super easy mini games, it was very well done with a lot of effort and some lovely art work. I appreciated the effort in the game if not the plot. I do recommend and think most people would like it.
I recommend this game!

I will start by saying that what there was of this game, was quite well done. There were interesting characters and a decent storyline. But for me it was all about what wasn't there. No morphing, no collectibles, no achievements and no map. So no finish all the HO scenes without using hints to strive for... nothing. Just play the game. And no transporting to a location. you had to get there the old fashioned way. The graphics were okay but very brown on brown. The exception being the HO scenes which had some nice color. But the HO scenes were also old school. Lists with a couple of interactive items. No variety.
Also the town was supposed to be Kisilova, a town in Vienna?? I think and yet the investigators they sent had British accents and everyone else sounded North American. hmmm weird. The ending was pretty predictable and I didn't follow up and play the extra chapter... the only CE extra it seems. I only play that when I really liked the game play and I can't say I was overly thrilled with this one. If this was the first try of a new developer, I would say that what they did put out was of good quality but that the game was severely lacking in 2015 extras for a CE game. This would be a pretty good game as a SE but for me it was just not up to par for CE game. It was okay but a bit too old school and really lacking any of today's expected extras.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was okay. My first thought was really MEH.
I felt that it was rather cookie cutter to all their other games. The mini games were really easy, the storyline overly familiar and HO scenes were just okay. Nothing exciting. Not that it was a bad game, it was similar to others they have made. Decent, with good artwork and some extras. There were collectible globe things and achievements. I did have one thing I didn't like. There were several achievements that would swirl to show to earned them but then the next day when I would look at them the swirl thing was gone and there was nothing to show whether I had earned them or not. And since I played this over several days I could not remember. Over all this was an okay game but if, like me , you have all of eipix's games, you might not find this one too exciting.
