I love Hidden Object games. Though I don't appreciate having to travel back and forth to the same scene over and over, I understand why that happens in some games. Not my cup of tea, but it seems to make others happy.
I also like the family of hidden object games too. I look forward to the same type coming back time after time. What I don't like is a game that has scenes that look just like the scenes in previous games. The scenes aren't that hard to design, are they?
This game is simplistic, even for me. When I can remember seeing the scene I'm viewing from a previous game, then I am placing it on the do not buy list. Some developers work hard to bring us a game that challenges or is beautiful to play. Those games I will buy. This game doesn't do that.
I like the hidden object games that are relaxing. And this is a relaxing game. The hidden objects are not difficult to find but they present a little challenge. The variety of mini games is nice. I guess I just needed a little more to find. Like the morphing objects (which are a true challenge for me) or the raccoon in every scene. I just felt a little 'cheated' when i finished each scene that there wasn't more to find.
I like the time-waster game as much as the next person. Some of them are quite clever. Some have wonderful graphics; some have a wide variety of mini games; some have simple hidden object scenes that make you look for the objects without having to get stronger reading glasses. This game has none of those.
On top of having few redeeming qualities, it also is impatient! If I don't see the object hidden in the leaves (because it's just a bit above the leaf) within a short period of time, the game highlights a match for me. Besides the irritating unwanted hint, everything is hidden behind a leaf. And not a variety of leaves. The same plain old leaves in every scene.
If you collect the butterflies, and who wouldn't?, you get rain drops. So I wondered what could I buy with rain drops? I can rescue animals and flowers. What can i do with these items I rescue? Nothing.
I believe in giving a developer the benefit of the doubt when trying a new game. This game though must have been created through a game class. Very rudimentary. In fact so rudimentary it should have had many, many levels to justify paying money for it.
I'm not saying it's totally without value. There are other time-waster games that are much better.
In all honesty, I played this game a few hours after it was released on Big Fish. There were 2 reviews and if I only went by their opinion rather than playing the game myself, I would have missed a wonderful way to spend a relaxing time. I'm not sure about why others didn't like it so much because I loved the graphics. I also liked the variety of games that were fun to play and didn't tax my brain.
Because I got caught up with other parts of my life, I missed buying the game with the deal. I will definitely buy it, though. I wanted to make sure though that I left a positive opinion so others would try it and form their own. I rarely skip a game based on another person's negative thoughts, nor do I pay attention to who likes or dislikes another's comments. I must be contrary - the games that get the worst reviews are the ones I play. Not that I'm buying all those, but I am giving them a try. Some developer took the time to create the game so the least i can do is honestly evaluate it, based on my preferences.
I like all the cat pictures and the variety of skill levels. Personally jigsaw puzzles are challenging to me so I appreciate the puzzle difficulty range. i need to start with the lowest number of pieces, even the idea of having to change their direction can be daunting to me!
That being said, it is very satisfying to find a cute picture of a cat at puzzle completion. What a reward!
Like others have said before me, it's a big variety of minigames. They all seem to be related to the American Independence Day, and some other American facts.
I liked the games I was able to play in the demo. Even as an American, the quotes and the crosswords had me hitting the hint button often. Nor often enough to be frustrating, but I wasn't able to complete the game without using a few hints. I guess what I'm saying is unless you're an American history buff, it would be difficult to complete all of these mini games without looking up the facts. Lazy that I am, I used the hint button.
It's worth trying all the games on the demo to see if you like them. I personally like the match games and there were only 4. I played them all so hopefully there will be another type of game to interest me as much as they do.
i have the CE of this game and I enjoy it. I like the graphics. I like the mini games.
Though it's similar to other games, I find it different enough to want to play it. The objects aren't too easy to find, and I occasionally have to use a hint. To me, that's a plus. I don't want the objects to be so obscure that they are frustrating to find, either, and this game has a good balance of easy and difficult, depending on the scene.
I play without the music so I can't say anything about that.
I have read the previous reviews on both editions and I'm not finding cyberbullying or fraudulent reviews, Strange to see that in a review of a game.
There are a lot of hidden object travel games on Big Fish. I usually like to play them because I like hidden object games and I learn a little something about other places besides my own backyard.
This game however had objects just kind of thrown onto a picture of a travel site. The items were fuzzy, and easier to find with the magnifier, but still not the best quality picture.
