I didn't expect this, especially with so many games that promise something unusual and scary--This game delivers! I was content to play a good game--weird at best. However, with the old-game atmosphere and all the modern day bells and whistles, Art of Horror will leave you as it did me--a good old-fashioned scream Not sure if other reviewers were playing the same game or had the same mind set because you gotta put yourself there to appreciate the intensity. Game is intense so here's a warning.
Wait, let me cover a couple details such as the game is quite lengthy. Took me three days to finish and the challenge wasn't easy either! Puzzles were creative, hidden objects were do-able and fun. Story is suspenseful. What else do gamers want? I have no idea and expected a more outpouring of positive reviews! Yikes! Don't save those reviews just for the show cased big names!
Move over other supposedly, suspenseful games, Art of Horror will leave you looking over your shoulder and wanting more! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Am I dreaming of playing an outstanding MCF Game? Do not wake me! Dark, foreboding, interesting, logical--there's a 180 degree turn here from the illogical and mostly boring games during the past year throughout the BFG Site.
EIPIX has come through in a big way with a smoothly flowing exchange of conversation and events, music, art, graphics. Bravo! I will be the 1st to admit that I was wrong! Is this the surprise another member wrote about that they had beta-tested and was being released soon? Aha! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Journey with 5-BN Games to walk among the Ancient Mayans. PURE GENIUS!
EVERY DAY I search BFG for a new 5 BN-Games installment and one has finally arrived! Woohoo! I won't even get annoyed at undeserved, negative comments or weak reviews that give back-handed compliments--and who hardly scratch the surface of defining this game's excellence.
Yet, do I detect my favorite developers may have caved in a bit to the demands that their games are too challenging? Please say it isn't so! Hopefully, the demo isn't a true indicator and challenges increase with the full version.
I know two things--1st, will purchase the game and 2nd, will replay this game many times; like the others--Lost Lands, New York Mysteries, Lost Island, Darkness and Flame.
Gamers, like myself who are ever so weary of mindless, violent and offensive HOPAS will TOTALLY APPRECIATE "The Legacy: Forgotten Gates"!
Show some BFG LOVE and post a POSITIVE REVIEW for this TEAM! YAY!
Thank you, 5-BN Games and BFG for all your hard work, dedication and for presenting a superior gaming experience! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Just got around to playing this 2012 gem and was Impressed by the amount of feedback. Sure was different by locating parts of objects in different scenes. Munchausen's voice and humor got a little irritating after a while, however, overall, he was quite funny. I, for one, was glad the game was shorter than expected. Figuring out various scenes, especially the last one was a hair puller mostly because, of the unique gameplay. Probably go back and play again. :-)
Anything ancient Egypt is super interesting to me especially to have the historical and artistic backdrop brought by JetDogs Studios was an unexpected treat.
One of my favorite all-time developers presented this adventure style game with hidden object and other challenging puzzles a couple years ago and I just didn't find the time to play. What a BFG treat.
Very much miss this gaming style. Filled with spectacular artwork and an interesting, enjoyable plot, playing the game straight through was never a question. Usually get bored and go back and forth between games, however, Annabel held my interest straightaway.
Although Nefertiti was Pharaoh Akhenaton's--usually referred to as the Heretic Pharaoh--true bride, not going to squabble over historical trivia. I suppose the name Annabel was more present day that Nefertiti.
The artwork is spectacular, hands down! The story/plot was very interesting and very enjoyable. Will play this game again. Pleased to go back into my catalogue of games and find this hidden gem. Do try JetDog Studios other games as well. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!

Dark Parables: Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow Collector's Edition
A dark illness has befallen the townspeople of Anaben!
What used to be an exciting game to look forward to has turned into a roller coaster ride throughout gameplay--dips into boredom and then rises to getting interesting and then dips back down again into bottomless boredom with no redeeming qualities other than beautifully drawn artwork.
Whether gamers are old, young, beginner or expert, there was no distinction, as all gamers were one when entering into the enchanting Dark Parables game realm.
Purchased CE, hoping that Devs had certainly heard gamers. Alas, I am barely getting through this game. Will play through from sheer stubbornness, realizing our reviews are smoke and dust whisked away by the wind. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
1st of all, developers left out my all-time favorite Detective--James--along with a good story and a good game to boot. "Six green bottles hanging on the wall..."
Stumbling around in the dark and dreary, doing all manner of actions to progress. A little bit of common sense is not asking too much. Very frustrating that every game is pretty much the same--with great graphics. Would opt for a great game and poorer graphics, so, how difficult is it?
Why oh why are developers stuck in this same-old, same-old slump and bringing gamers right along with them? Just go to the lowest rating first and read the honest reviews from the same, honest reviewers. Most of my reviews don't even get printed. I have to go back a 2nd & 3rd time! ^_^ Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Great and different storyline. Tried the demo, purchased and played straight through.
Gamers will be pleasantly surprised at the depth and talent presented. Initially, wondered if this is yet another rescue a disappearing loved one plot or simply over the top weird. We find out early on that the game falls into neither of these categories. Actually, the originality is what, most likely, has earned so many reviews for a little known developer here on BFG.
Hopefully, we will see more of this developer and this type of excellent gaming! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Game only seemed short because gamers didn't have to spend an inordinate amount of time wasting hours seeking items. Hidden object items were clear to locate and didn't impede gameplay. The flower puzzle was the most difficult.
Items--and there were many--are found and utilized quickly. Lots of plus items to join together and find where they fit. Running about was part of the fun challenge as gamers are actually making progress.
Liked the spooky feel and never once was bored. Purchased immediately and played straight through. The language barrier actually lent to the game's uniqueness and this veteran gamer totally enjoyed the fast pace minus the usual, unnecessary bells, whistles, morphing objects and collectibles. Plain good gaming.
Thanks to the hard working developers for a job well done and BFG. My only recommendation would be to have the English language proof read before final release. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
We are off to the far reaches of imagination. Actually, below the subconscious--which is the definition of subliminal. Usually enjoy a magical, mystical backdrop and I kept an open mind, hoping to embrace the developers' gaming style. Game would have been better had it been expanded into a series, thus, allowing artists and writers the room needed to spread their wings rather than presenting a condensed version.
When offering a unique storyline, a sense of balance and simplicity is important. I felt the story was hastily written and went off into different directions. Challenging puzzles and/or mini-games could have provided a strong support and saved the game, however, this was lacking as well.
I always appreciate the Developers' hard work and tenacity. Yet, as a gamer of many years, I'm just not sure why and where all these type of games are originating. The devs have all the right stuff--yet, somehow missed the mark. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
