Players have tasks such as finger printing, blood typing, hidden objects, puzzles and a mystery to solve. A serial killer is on the rampage and must be stopped.
Game seems slower and dated, however, the realistic story line, beautifully detailed, hand-drawn art work and good old-fashion hidden object puzzles are refreshingly welcome!
To name just a few of their previous hits: Demon Hunter I, II, and III, Brave Giant Games are outstanding developers and have my full support with two thumbs up. Definitely a buy! Enjoy!

Purchased CE and halfway through, someone named Eric and Wrath popped into this ridiculously confusing story line--"Is that you, Eric" Oh, and "Don't let Wrath get all of the hearts of the story because he'll take over the world!" Bru-ha-ha-ha! Seriously? More than halfway through, I should know all the characters and the plot--all of which are so convoluted, nothing makes any sense or logic whatsoever to the point of a ridiculous waste of time and money. There's no challenge and no hand holding--just a complicated insult.
What seems common place is a demo that purports to be one type of game and then spirals into nothingness while reviewers are cheering the way with less than accurate 5-star rave reviews. This tactic is unfair to possible newcomers or others who may purchase based on reviews.
Could have been a very good game if Mad Head had stayed on track and followed through with one thought process. I thought our character was going to be a super-hero in another world and was very much looking forward to seeing that fleshed out. Didn't happen. Nothing happened. How can the makers of Adam Wolfe fall so far off base? Try the demo, however, the full game was a lesson in boredom for me.

Evil Phobos and the Guardians just seem so much more interesting than the good guys. They're minding their own evil business and so what if Phobos has to jump into the real world to steal a living soul or two to live forever in the underworld. The guy's gotta survive and he is very important to have his very own world in which to reign. So, he gets out of line a little bit. He's a bad boy. What do you expect?
Vendal Games has outdone themselves if players enjoy a well presented magical, mystical theme--which this game hits high marks on all points. A great game to step away from the grill and make up an excuse to go inside to cool down in the air conditioning. Not zipping through this game as players work creative puzzles to advance. There is some hand holding so you can't have it all. Enjoy! Happy 4th of July!

Pay no attention to my review of "The Blacksmith's Daughter" as I obviously didn't play the game and only reviewed based on the demo. Left a glowing 5-star review on the Standard of that game as well although I recommend purchasing the Collector's Edition of both of these games. The strategy guide will be very helpful as game is challenging. Sadly, these types of games are gone forever.
Inertia is one of my favorite in developing computer games. They are thorough, detailed and there's always a lesson in their presentations--if players care to connect.
The Severed Heart is not as long or complicated as it's prequel, however, it is a very beautiful game in every way. Edwina is a gentle and caring young lady who's compassion is almost tangible. Enjoy! Happy July 4th 2017! Yay!

What happened, Domini Developers? Too many vibrant colors of pinks and purples that hurt the eyes. Too many loud and banging sound effects that lend zero to game play other than to startle and annoy. Too much the same story line with no intrigue, no plot, no clear thought process. A jumble of the usual puzzles and overly used objects i.e. glass cutter, oil, acid, hammer, nails, rag, spray cleaner are thrown into the start-up. EECK!
Played long enough to give the little girl her toy bunny and then deleted. Domini has fallen way short of previous games. What happened to these once good developers who instead have churned out this colorful, noisy, nonsensical mess? YIKES!
There were glimmers where this could have been a great game such as the art work and musical score. The superior talent is obvious but there's no creativity whatsoever. All about death and dying and revenge, evil trying to resurrect. BLAH!
Get a grip and come up with something original and fun with subdued color tones, please!
Five stars? Not by a long shot. Happy 4th of July, y'all.

So many games and nothing to buy. ERS has the same voices, same artwork, same here's the bad guy, here's the good guy. Now, go through an entire game chasing the bad guy with no plot and the same old boring, repetitive actions. Only difference in this game is it's got to be the worst I've ever played and I've played all of their games and purchased more than I'd care to admit.
There was a time I had to decide on which to afford because there were so many from which to choose and I wanted to buy them all. Well, that problem is solved. Reviews that stated "save your money" usually irritated me. Hey, if I want to throw my money away, that's my business. That problem is solved too. I now agree. I'll save my money.
This latest ERS game could be the very worst ever in their long career and they've come up with many excellent series that took a nose dive such as the Haunted Legends, Fear For Sale, Redemption Cemetery to name a few which were very good at first. Haven't been able to purchase a palatable game in over a year.
Please, ERS, present something different, fun and interesting! Take a look at other excellent developers--5-BN Games, Artifex Mundi, Jet Dog Studios, Inertia, Elephant Games. I'm still here waiting and wanting to buy one of your games. Enjoy!

One of those games that doesn't seem excellent within the demo time frame. However, much to my surprise and happy amazement, is a wow factor once play is continued. I settled for the standard and wish to trade it in for the Collector's Edition. Is that possible? There's actually challenge, good puzzles and the hidden objects were fun, much like the older games were at one time. They did not interfere with the game, no, they added to the game. Yada-yada-yada. Story is abduction for evil purposes, but who notices when the entertainment factor is far greater. It's not here's evil, here's good--with a series of boredom to conquer evil. Atmosphere, artwork, music, all superbly excellent. Loved, loved, loved the game! Thanks so much developers! Job well done!

Anything 5-BN Games is absolute winning game play. As I've stated previously, these developers extend their best with no short cuts. Scenes, musical score, etc. are fluid and presented with exquisite quality not found anywhere else on this site.
We are very, very fortunate to actually be able to tap into such enormous talent here on BFG especially when all other developers have consistently failed us. Honestly, after so many years, I maintain my membership only for these developers' next release. I only needed to play the demo for just five minutes to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

A really, real Haunted Hotel immersed in Elephant Games style gaming! Rest assured all is well with James at the hotel "Good to see you again, old friend!" I'm sure we'll have to rescue James at some point as we always do. That's one of the reasons he's so lovable--a great detective who needs rescuing. Don't get me wrong, James always lends a hand with clues and contributes important items but, we definitely have to do the work.
Magnificent atmosphere loaded with amazing artistic detail and finely tuned musical scores. Collectible morphing objects, picture parts and fears abound. Wow! Check out the Fear Room! Nothing dull or dreary here. Superb mixture of Haunted Hotel prequels ANCIENT BANE, DEATH SENTENCE, and AXIOM BUTCHER dovetailed into an exciting new adventure.
A definite purchase especially since I've been waiting for a worthy game. Elephant Games Develoopers, you are the best! Thank you! Enjoy!

Hand drawn artwork is my favorite and brings a quaint beauty to the game. Unfortunately, have my fill of mysterious disappearances, rolling smoke, curses, evil spirits, silly obstacles, endless rescue attempts in which souls, breaths, minds, bodies, hearts are frozen, solidified, transferred, suspended and taken. Enjoy!
