Unfortunately, I don't like this game as much as I thought I would when I started playing this game.
Once again, there are is the grinding high-pitched voic of the main character (me), and another one that belongs to the elf.
Then there are, for me, far too many hidden object scenes. They pretty much follow one after the other, and many of those are in silhouettes and often hard to recognise. Yes, I was able to play a Monaco game, which I practically did with every HOS.
And lastly, it didn't have much of a Christmas feel. It started out that way, but then it continued to play just like any old HOPA I see during the year, without much festivity thrown in.
I was so bored with the game that I wasn't even able to finish the main game, and when the last chapter came up, I just quit. A shame, because I am always looking forward to Christmas games, and so far, this one is the only Christmas game that has disappointed me this year.
I won't recommend this game simply because it didn't have the much-needed Christmas cheer.
I don't recommend this game.

I haven't been much of an Eipix fan in a while, but I love this game.
As with most games, you have to go a bit forth and back, but I loved doing that in the train. It was fun exploring a different kind of environment for a change.
I love the puzzles - not too difficult, not too easy - and the hidden object scenes, of which there aren't too many (thank goodness).
I particularly like that I can switch characters, and that - a little into the game - I can buy stuff that will help me advance in the story.
I have no technical problems with the game, which I find fun and entertaining to play.
I recommend this game!

I cannot believe the many negative reviews. I almost didn't buy this game because I read those reviews. And am I glad I did buy the game.
What a beautiful and entertaining Christmas game. And most of the puzzles are easy, which I like. I don't want to spend ages to get through a tough puzzle, so the easier the better for me.
The one negative for me is that I would have preferred it if the map had shown the places where actions are available. You only see the place where you are and where you should come back later. That's not helpful at all.
I also liked that the game consists of different stories, so I moved to different places.
This is a top-notch game. It's wonderfully Christmassy (I am a huge fan of all things Christmas) and for me it doesn't matter who the characters are in the game, it's a Christmas game, and that's the important thing for me. :)
I recommend this game!

Number 6 has always been my favourite game in the series, and because I didn't care for numbers 7 and 8, I had given up on this series.
To my surprise, I found this game great. It has improved immensely (except for the singing person towards the end). *shudders*
There is so much help now with the jigsaw puzzles and also with the items in blue in the hidden object scenes. Hover over the blue words and you will get told where exactly something is hidden and where to put it. I love that.
Most people in this game do wear winter clothes (except the odd person here and there and the daughter; she still wears her pink short sleeve top).
Also, there are quite a few animated animals and other objects in this game, which makes the game look more alive.
I liked most of the puzzles and almost all of the hidden object scenes. And I haven't enjoyed a Christmas Wonderland game so much since number 6, which is still my favourite one, but number 9 comes a close second. :)
I recommend this game!

With most games, I have lost interest in searching for hidden objects, but liked the HOS I have played so far in this game.
Usually I don't care for mini games, especially when they appear one after the other, but the puzzles I have come across so far were easy and fun enough so that I didn't want to skip them.
Colour scheme, gameplay and characters were, so far, of quality.
By the time I am close to the end of a game, I am usually tired of it, and don't want to go into the extra bonus chapter. Therefor the only reason I would buy a CE is if the collectables are fun and plenty, and even better if the collectables are related to furnishing a room or something similar.
Just looking for morphing handprints is not what I would call fun.
For me, most CEs aren't worth the double price. I don't want to replay HOS and puzzles. I don't care for wallpaper that has the dev's name and/or game's name printed on it nor do I want to look at the concept art. Those are simply not worth the extra price. At least for me. So I would rather wait for SE to come out.
I recommend this game!

The two game genre I enjoy most playing are Christmas and Halloween. And here is a Halloween game very much to my liking.
I like pretty much everything about it: the characters, the time period, the colours and graphics as well as the gameplay.
A must buy for me. Happy Halloween !!
I recommend this game!

I loved playing this "one higher or one lower" Solitaire game until I came to the point where many of the top cards are covered in something you needed to get rid of in order to uncover the other cards.
To begin with, the cards and their images are already not very large. Therefore adding a whole lot of tangles in a horrible turquoise or purple colour, made it near impossible for me to see what cards I was looking at. The tangles are a very bad design. Those rosebushes or whatever they were weren't much better, because they too cover most of the cards so that you can barely see what card is underneath. A real shame, because this is a nicely done and quite challenging game (if you want to get a "Perfect"), and for that reason alone I recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

I had given up on HOGs - most of them come nowadays only in shades of blue and turquoise (with some red and green thrown in), and I won't buy any HOG now that doesn't have a decent colour scheme.
So I was happily surprised to see that this game is multi-coloured. That alone would have made it an instant buy for me. But on top of that, we have a decent story as well - a murder mystery (oh, how I longed for something like this - am so fed up with dark and evil beings).
I also like the collectables, and the HOS (Hidden Object Scenes). Yep, an instant buy for me.
I recommend this game!

This HOG, which is by Brave Giant Studios, is one of those rare games I enjoy playing these days.
I love the story and the gameplay.
I love the puzzles I have come across so far, because they were easy enough for me to do, and they were fun.
I also love the hidden object scenes, which are often interactive, and one of the items you need to find always morphs.
Collectables are many and there is a nice selection of them. Although the Collectables don't show up in the demo's Strategy Guide, they are there in the demo game's scenes for you to click on and collect.
The variety of Collectables makes this game CE-worthy for me.
I recommend this game!

This game is not for those players who have no patience, and just want to rush through a game.
Many years ago, I used to play a lot of text adventure games, and most of them didn't come with images. Those games weren't as easy to get through as HOGs or even M3 and TM games. You had to put your thinking cap on in order to get ahead. And this game is very similar.
You are contacted by Taylor (he or she, take your pick) who has crashlanded on an unknown planet, and he needs your help to survive.
He asks you where to go next, what to do next, and other things. And your correct answers sometimes depend on a life or death situation for Taylor.
If Taylor happens to die, for example, you are taken back to an earlier stage of the game, from where you can continue. That option only appears after the first time you give Taylor a death sentence.
At the same time another option opens: Turn Fast Mode On, and you will see a Rabbit next to it. This mode is for players who have been playing this game for a while, and don't want to go in normal mode through the game again after having to restart it from an earlier stage, but can rash through those earlier parts.
And yes, there are waiting times with this game. Taylor goes exploring things, doing things, sleeping through the night, etc. And at those times, Taylor is "busy", as it then will tell you on the screen. Depending on what he is doing when he is busy, he can be offline from a couple of minutes to hours. You can leave the game running, and when he is back, you will hear a sound to that effect. Or you can shut down the game, and open it sometimes later to see if he has come back to you.
And there is no need to worry that Taylor will go ahead and do other things while you are not in the game. He will wait for you to come back on, before continuing.
I love this game. I am a big fan of old-school RPGs and Text Adventures, and this game is just what I have been waiting for.
I recommend this game!
