I don't give reviews on the main game page anymore, but because there don't seem to be any positive reviews, neither on the forum nor on the main page, I decided to add mine.
This is not the most fantastic game I have ever played (which is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars), but it's a very entertaining, spooky, and fun game for a grey, rainy day. And we have had one of those today where I live.
The graphics are very well done, as are the characters and voices.
The puzzles/mini games were on the easy side, which I personally prefer.
You encounter the odd spider, and a snake, but that one is harmless.
The only collectables - and that is the only downside for me - are morphing objects. They change from jigsaw puzzle pieces to another object.
The Hidden Object Scenes are highly interactive, which I liked. There are more HOS in the game after the demo finished.
At 1.5GB, this is a big game. It took me pretty much all day (with breaks) to play the main game. Will tackle the bonus chapter tomorrow.
All in all, the perfect game for Halloween.
I recommend this game!

Hi all...
There are 3 Difficulty modes: Regular, Advanced, Expert.
In Regular mode, you get sparklies all over, and the Map indicates were immediate actions are needed.
In Advanced mode, active zones are not indicated, and the Map does not tell you were actions are needed.
In Expert mode, there are no hints and no tutorial. Mini games cannot be skipped, and the Map does not tell you were actions are needed.
There is a choice of custom and system cursor.
There is a button for "Aspect Ratio". Whether it's ticked or not, I still get some black borders on either side of my laptop monitor - about half the size of what I usually have with just a full screen game.
There are Achievements, one of them is called "Finder". You get that one if and when you have found all 15 magic potions, which you will find throughout the game.
The SG #strategy guide# only shows the first chapter. In the "Extras" section, you will find the SG, the Bonus Adventure, Concept art, mini-games that can be replayed later on, and the "Book of Spells", which shows a picture of one item per potion you have found. No idea what that is all for, but I am sure all will be revealed at the end, when you have found all the potions - or not.
The Inventory, which can be locked to stay open or unlocked to disappear until needed, as well as the other buttons #Hint, SG, Map, Main Menu and Diary# are at the top.
It takes a little getting used to going to the top when you need an item from the inventory. On the other hand, at least that Inventory doesn't keep popping up whenever I just want to leave a scene and go back out of it.
The Hint button is a tad annoying. Every few seconds it blinks at me, whether I am inside an iHOS #interactive hidden object scene# or in the main scene. It keeps blinking at me. #Insert a "thumbs down" here#.
Most of the voices were not to my liking. They just didn't seem to go with the characters I encountered. Too young and screetchy, I thought.
As always, puzzles can be skipped.
--- --- ---
I very much enjoyed the second and third "Echoes of the Past". Can't remember now whether I liked the last one - I think I did.
However, although this one has much more superior graphics, and the animation is great, and the story is intriguing, I am just not thrown off my chair with excitement. Also, the only extra I see in the main game is the collection of potions, which are quite visible in the scenes, and therefore not much of a challenge. Therefore, I will pass on the CE, but will get the SE when it's out.
I recommend this game!

A different type of Strategy/Builder game

There is a tutorial, and it pops up from time to time to tell you the different new things when those appear.
With each new level, you are shown the tasks at the left-hand side, and large green arrows point to them, until you click on each task to see what needs doing. Then the arrows go away.
Although it says that you have to balance time and resources, there is no timer. So this is definitely not a TM game.
At the top of the screen you see a burger, and a number next to it, telling you how many burgers (cheese burgers? yum yum) you have left. Each action your little men do, requires a certain amount of burgers.
When you pick berries and mushrooms and nuts, they will go into your storehouse. From here you can click on either the "sell" button or "use" button. For each berry or mushroom or nut you use, you get so-and-so many burgers added to your burgers at the top.
You can either pick food from the surrounding area, or go to the forest (Woods - at the left), click on it, and select which food/water you want one of your guys to collect. So don't panic if you think there isn't enough food to pick in the immediate area. The Woods provide plenty.
The graphics are really well done. Crystal clear and beautiful.
You will be able to build lots of different buildings, and be able to upgrade them.
The tasks are not difficult to do. This is quite an easy game - once you get the hang of it. And because there is no time limit, you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy this fun game.
I recommend this game!

Morning, all...
So, hmmm... when I first had a look at the screenshots I thought: oh no, not another kiddie game. But then I looked at the video and saw that it was a building game.
So I downloaded the demo, and to my surprise, I enjoyed the few levels I played so far.
You are in the woods, and wood is your main building material, for the time being, anyway. Many other materials will be added/used in the later levels.
You build houses, and sawmills, and later on windmills to make flour, so you can bake bread, etc.
This is a really cute builders game, and there is no time limit. You can win gold stars or silver or bronze for finishing each level quickly, and you can win achievements, but there is no rush. You can take as long as you like to play each level.
I bought the game and love it.
I recommend this game!

Hello, everyone...
What a super game!!
I love Solitaire games, and in particular this one, which is of the *One higher, one lower* variety.
There is a choice of a Relaxed and not Relaxed mode. I assume the latter comes with a timer.
There is a widescreen option, which doesn't work for everyone.
There is voice-over.
There is a choice of custom and system cursor. Thank you, devs.
There are HOS #hidden object scenes#. So far I have only come across the *find 10 of these and 11 of that* variety. Love those.
Graphics are great, and the cards look beautiful.
No wonder the file of this game is so much larger than your average Solitaire game: animation, graphics, voices... it all adds up.
You will have to go through the tutorial - that is your first round.
What I like about this game is that you can replay every level to get a higher score #having less cards left at the end of a level#.
After the tutorial, it gets quite difficult. Not only do you have to get through each level with as few cards as possible, but you need to collect stuff that is hidden behind the last cards. If you want to replay a level and have already found some of the items, they will stay with you - you won't lose them by replaying a level.
There is a Shop in which you can buy stuff that helps you with your card games.
There are also lots of Achievements to win.
Think "Fairway" but far more interesting.
As you can see from my enthusiastic way of describing this game, it's a buy for me.
I recommend this game!

Well, what a nice surprise (beware: there are biters and suckers about, oh my...).
There are 2 gameplay modes. In Easy mode you don't get a click penalty, but in Hard mode you do.
There is a choice between custom and system cursor.
There is no voice-over, there is no widescreen (for those who are interested#.
The HOS #hidden object scenes# are interactive. In Easy mode, when you move your cursor over one of the words in the list, it will show you a silhouette of this object.
The HINT button only takes 30 seconds to refill in Easy mode.
When clicking on the HINT button outside of the iHOS, you are told exactly what to do next.
Your DIARY is at the left. Inside you will also find your ACHIEVEMENTS: find 20 LIONS #there are more, so if you missed one in one scene there will be others somewhere else) throughout the game to play the MINI GAME, which you can find on the MAIN MENU page: The Lion at the bottom left.
The HINT button is at the right.
Also at the right is your MAP, which you can use to jump. Just click on another destination that has footprints showing, and a picture of this destination comes up. Point to this picture, and you get a "Forward" cursor. Click and you are transported to this place.
Puzzles can be skipped. The SKIP button takes about 40 seconds to fill in Easy mode.
--- --- ---
I haven't had this much fun playing an iHOG in a long time. Lots of witty comments, lots of humour, and I love that my name comes up in many of the comments, which makes it more "my" story. LOL
Graphics are well done as well, and gameplay is interesting and, did I mention... fun!!
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the CE version, which I played in Casual mode.
There are 3 gameplay modes.
There is a choice of custom and system cursor.
There is voice-over.
There is a Journal, but no Map.
There is a Phoenix ring next to the Journal, which you have to use from time to time to get rid of dark magic.
There is widescreen (for those who can get it).
The iHOS (interactive hidden object scenes) are silhouetted, but in a really great and fun way. Also, these HOS are different from what you usually get, and are highly interactive.
The HINT button, which also works outside of the HOS, takes almost a minute to refill in Casual mode.
The graphics are of the usual ERS standards.
Puzzles can be skipped. SKIP button takes a while to fill even in Casual mode.
--- --- ---
This is one of ERS' best games, IMO. I love the new hidden object scenes, and gameplay was fun and interesting.
I bought the CE, and for once enjoyed the bonus game as well. It had the perfect ending to a perfect game.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the trial version:
There are 3 gameplay modes - I played in easy mode.
There is a choice of custom and system cursor.
There is voice-over.
The voice-over, background sounds, and music all have different sliders.
The HINT button is on the left, and a COMPASS which serves as a MAP is on the right.
The map is very well done: You see where you are, where you need to do things, and where you haven't been yet.
When you put your cursor over a section of the map, you will get a list of tasks that need to be done in that area (this is in easy mode, mind you#.
You can also use the map to jump to the different areas.
The graphics are OK, and even though I didn't like them all that much in the HOS #hidden object scenes#, the objects in them were easy to find.
Both HINT and SKIP buttons refill quickly.
The SG #strategy guide# only shows the first chapter.
Gameplay is pretty much standard #not bad, but nothing new), and puzzles are OK.
--- --- ---
I will buy this game when the SE comes out, because this is a good HOG, and I like this kind of game, but I didn't fall of my chair with excitement while playing, so I won't get the CE.
I recommend this game!

I beta-tested this game, and this review is based on the 1-hour demo:
There is a choice of custom and system cursor.
There are 2 gameplay modes.
There is voice-over, which is excellent.
There is an option for Brightness. I pushed it up all the way, but still needed to do it manually on my laptop (Fn+F6 keys) for certain scenes that were a little too dark.
You can (and should) collect coins in each room or outside area. When you have collected all the coins in a room, a picture of this room will then be added to your map, and you can use this picture to teleport back to it from another room by clicking on it.
The graphics are very well done.
The HOS (hidden object scenes), which are interactive, are a pleasure to play. There is no mess, the HOS aren’t overcrowded, and the graphics are superb.
Other than the HOS, you also have to hunt for fragmented objects in the main scenes.
The HINT and SKIP buttons fill reasonably fast, and the HINT button also works outside of the HOS.
Gameplay is fun and entertaining, as are the puzzles. This is definitely a buy for me.
There is NO BONUS GAME. The bonus scenes are part of the main game, which means, they are integrated into the main game. Click on “Bonus Content” and then on “Bonus Gameplay” to see how it works.
--- --- ---
PS: The SG’s (strategy guide) “Chapter Select” didn’t work well at first. I had to click many times on “Chapter Select” in order to get back to the beginning of the SG so I could look at other chapters.
However, when I left the game and came back in, and tried again, it worked like a charm.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the 1-hour demo, which I played in easy mode.
There are 2 different gameplay modes.
There is only the custom cursor.
There is voice-over.
There are 2 different types of HOS (hidden object scenes):
One is the normal kind, where you find objects from a list of words, with some objects that are interactive.
The other one gives you silhouettes from which you have to guess the object. This one will only give you one silhouetted item at a time.
There are quite a few HOS following each other, and in easy mode, the iHOS give you sparkly nudges for the interactive objects.
Puzzles can be skipped.
The HINT button refills reasonably fast. It can also be used outside of the HOS.
The SKIP button takes a little longer to fill.
The graphics are a little rough, but not bad.
Gameplay is pretty much straight forward - not much brain power needed.
--- --- ---
This is a nice enough game, but I wasn’t really excited about it.
I recommend this game!
