When I started this game, I felt such sadness especially at this time of the year with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up. The estranged situation and death of a family member is always sad, but feeling the guilt and remorse that Emily felt in this story brought it all forward. Emily is in a car crash and now must right the wrongs of the past starting with her mother. The hos scenes are a little junky, but nothing that was overly difficult to find. Not having a map made for a lot of running around in and out of the house. There were several places were you could use several things at once but still up down and all around. The games were fairly easy and not too difficult to use. The strategy guide was fairly detailed and easy to use. I liked the stranger who was encouraging and the ghostly figure of Emily's mother pushed the story forward. I played the casual mode and there were your normal sparkles for hos, but also a reminder sparkle to where you still had things to do. Overall I enjoyed the game, and as it progressed you went from the sadness to wanting to help Emily find forgiveness in herself and to reconnect with the ghost of her mother.
I recommend this game!

The third installment of the Haunted Halls series is absolutely fantastic. The hos were different and made it more challenging at what needed to be found. The puzzles were not difficult, but were thoroughly enjoyable. The storyline grabbed me from the start and like I said I was so involved in the game, I didn't realize the hour passed so quickly. The hint button was helpful with both trying to locate objects and with telling you where you needed to go next. It did fill a little slowly, but I didn't need it right away anyway. I played in casual mode, but you had the choice of three levels. The use of the inventory items were not difficult to decide what to do with and the portable lab was very nice to have as something new to do. I played the demo for the CE, but had decided to wait for the SE. While I played the SE, I really didn't miss anything from what the CE had except the strategy guide. I know I'll be just as happy with the SE. It is really a must try and depending how you like your games; a must buy.
I recommend this game!

Having purchased the other two Shadow Wolf Mysteries games, I was thrilled to see a third one. The art was well done and where some of the scenes were more watercolor style others were crisp and clear, yet all fit with the aura of Paris. There were three games modes and as usual I played casual. The mini games were not difficult and the hos were clear and the objects were easy to find. Since I normally turn down the sound and voices to a softer level, the music did not annoy, but was repetitive. The storyline was very good, yet I was a little surprised that her parents were not around for the wedding. I did not need to use the hint button, but when I tried to hit the skip button on one of the games I could not get it to work. Also found that the traveling icon started rather far up on the screen, and kept appearing when I was trying to examine an item. The voice overs were well done. I also checked the strategy guide out once, but did not use it so I'm not sure how it keeps up with the game. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the game and will purchase it at the beginning of November.
I recommend this game!

Whispered Secrets is a laid back rainy day type of game with not a lot of pressure and fairly easy mini games and hos. The hos were rather packed and junky and some things were hard to find so played the match 3 switch mode instead. I like match 3 so this worked out well in my favor. The rooms are easy to scour and have very few items in each. There is a lot of running around, but everything is used in a fairly short period of time. Didn't need to use the hint button so have no idea how fast it refilled. There are two levels of play and when I play the demo, I like to play casual so I can get a feel for the game. The storyline is interesting, though missing people is a recurring theme in a number of games as is the mad scientist, but I did enjoy the demo. Did not even look at strategy guide so I have no idea how that worked either. The artwork was beautiful and the music didn't annoy me. I recommend this game though.

Visually the art and the music were good. The storyline didn't tell me much of anything and I got bored within 15 minutes. The hidden objects were difficult to find, one because of there size and secondly because everything was junked up and also all small in size. When I used the directional arrows at the bottom to get to the other side of the room, I kept getting the "freeze" situation because I had clicked to often. There was no directional information and you had to guess where you were going next. It was an okay game, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

I liked the storyline of Guardians of Magic. It was a little hard to follow with no voice over and directionally it was a little challenged. The hint button was very helpful in locating what had to be done next. The items to find were on the small side and not sure sometimes that they needed to be picked up. The art was cartoonish but it was well done and fit into the storyline. The music was soothing and not distracting or annoying. I liked the "box" puzzles. The bubble machine was different and seeing the "mystical" creatures was also well done. I enjoyed the game and will purchase it with one of my free game credits. It was overall fun for all ages.
I recommend this game!

The accomplishments of ancient civilizations has always been thought that there is more to it than should be. The tales of Atlantis being one. The story line is excellent and having to "translate" for each different culture was interesting to say the least. Not a lot of hidden objects, but you receive multiple objects to be used per hos. The objects are sometimes a little hard to find, but the hint button works well. I also liked the hint button for help with location and how to deal with something "the star flower" for example. The art was fantastic and the music was not annoying. I completed the demo and want to buy to find out what happened to the Unsolved Mystery Investigators. The level of challenge was good and the puzzles were not that difficult to solve. This is definitely a game to try because you may or may not like it, definitely a preference type.
I recommend this game!

The storyline sorta brings to mind a vague version of
Sleeping Beauty but in this case she dies and is "fixed" 150 years later. I chose casual to play for the demo. The map, and hint button were useful in travelling and keeping track of where you have been. The journal was also useful when clues were given. It was just spooky enough and finding the empty clothes draped all over the place kept your interest to find out what had happened to all the people. The hos scenes were enough to keep you interested because of the cleverly hidden objects that needed to be found. The storyline was interesting and you needed to keep going to find out what happened. It is definitely a keeper and the SE seems to be just the CE only without the strategy guide. This is definitely for all levels.
I recommend this game!

I found the storyline of two friends from an orphanage, one in trouble and the other to help in the InBetween Land very good. The switching back and forth between true "cartoon" and realistic art to be well done as they flowed together. Wasn't expecting it, but it didn't detract from the story or games. As this is a straight SE, I found the hint button to be very helpful in the "what do I do next" situations, and it also filled quickly. I also liked the journal even though it had no map and that there were achievements to be fulfilled. All in all this was definitely one that I am going to buy.
I recommend this game!

It was a game that I'm not really sure about. I felt the story and the progression of the game was choppy and didn't flow for me at all. The art and voice overs were good, The sounds were not annoying. I just couldn't get into the game and I guess I expected more. The hint button worked well but had to use for skipping games as well as for hint. It filled at a regular rate. The map was different and literally forgot about it so don't know if it was interactive. Overall I kept hoping the hour would soon be over so I could delete it.
I don't recommend this game.
