A Trail of Breadcrumbs is a wonderful, solid game with a high fun factor. I played the collector's edition and recommend it highly for players of all skill levels. You are in for a treat.
On a side note to pennmom, I admire your devotion to gaming and helping others choose games with the information you provide. I am not voting yes or no on any reviews. I would like to heal this misunderstanding because it's the right thing to do. Let's come together with gaming as a common interest and move forward. I am no longer participating and have decided to explore other interests to help with my health. I encourage you to continue in doing what you do best: support and inform other players about Big Fish Games.
Jigsaw Cute Cats is a good little game that cat lovers and puzzle enthusiasts should enjoy. There are plenty of pictures and they are really cute of cats in various states of sleep, play, and being, well, a cat. If you are just starting out with jigsaw games, it's worthwhile to look at the tutorial because there are many helpful tools and settings to help the player. It's hard to get stuck or overwhelmed because of the options available to help complete the game.
This is not a fancy game with bells and whistles. It's simple and easy to play, but old-school in its quality. However, that doesn't take away from the fun factor. It's enjoyable for players of all skill levels. Four stars because my dog said so. She's waiting for 1001 Jigsaw Cute Dogs so she can give it a five.
I've been going through the Bridge to Another World series and why not Christmas in June? lol...This series of games are so well done, always solid, and have a high fun factor.
I loved this game! There are the usual morphing objects and collectibles in this collector's edition and plenty of achievements to earn. The skill level is fairly easy and there is a lot of character interaction, which is always a plus.
Unfortunately, I took one star off because this story line was less about Christmas and more about a toys versus humans story. Yes, there are Christmas decorations and the story unfolds like a Bavarian folk tale. However, when a soldier at the castle declared that humans are awful and cause misery then shoots the godfather, it lost the Christmas spirit for me. And this is just within the first five minutes. The plot seems like a more sophisticated Island of Misfit Toys who plot revenge on the humans who made them.
That being said, it's still a wonderfully made game. The graphics are excellent, there is plenty of content, and it's for players of all skill levels. I did enjoy the game and recommend to all. But labeling it a Christmas game is maybe a little bit misleading. Lots of Christmas decorations. Dark story.
I am new to time management games and have tried several over these past few months. Hermes is a fun little game that is not difficult to play. The tutorial and gameplay are easy to follow and it's easy to get addicted to :)
The greatest positive feature is that it's a fun game. i couldn't stop playing because I wanted to keep going, let the story unfold and do my best at each level. As a collector's edition, there are achievements to be earned and the player can choose from a few music loops.
The things that kept me from giving Hermes 5 stars are the graphics and the music. The graphics are very cartoonish and have no depth. It's a bit off-putting in its appearance. The music isn't great because it's a few bars that play over and over, even with choices. I prefer to keep the game muted, but that's personal preference.
I really liked this game overall. I recommend it to players of all skill levels. It's a nice little game that's hard to put down once you get started.
My rating is based as a newcomer to color-by-number games. i've tried several, and Paint by Numbers 19 is by far my favorite. It's relaxing and easy to do. The pictures I finished looked to me like stained glass, so this was a big plus for me. The music is soothing, which is another positive because many games these days have loud, short loops of wearisome music. Props for music that is pleasing to the ear. The fun factor was high because in my opinion the game is well done and simple to do. You don't have to think too much and just enjoy the game. There's a sense of accomplishment when a picture is finished. I recommend the game to everyone, but still try before you buy. I loved it!
The Scarlet Hyacinth is one of the better story offerings of late. This collector's addition has a lot of content for the player. In addition to hidden objects and puzzles, there are collectible pill packets to find (interesting choice), patient pictures, and poisonous plants. As always, there are achievements to accomplish.
The graphics and sound are good. The story opens with a mini-movie that views like a comic book. One thing that could have been done better is the same narrative written for the character is written below, so there are two copies of the same dialogue on screen...oops.
The fun factor is high on this one and the level of challenge is easy to moderate. They don't just hand solutions to the player. All this being said, if you are a hidden object gamer, there isn't a lot of new ideas. Within the first few minutes, you fill find bees you need to get rid of, nails in a wooden box that need removed, gloves to pick up objects, etc. So creativity is minimal.
As for the big picture, I loved the game and will continue to play. There's something comforting about a solid, well done game with a lot of content and goals to achieve, even if some of it has been done before. I recommend this game to people of all skill levels.
I loved this edition of Bridge to Another World. It thinks outside the box and provides hidden object and mini-games that are more creative than other games. It stands out and for this I rate it 5 stars.
In addition to improvements on traditional tasks, the collector's edition adds collectibles and morphing objects to find as well as achievements to attain. The graphics are colorful and well done and the characters are likeable and charming. There is a lot of interaction, so it doesn't feel like a solitary game where the player is alone solving tasks.
The plot of the story is your character goes back into an old childhood book where a community has been overtaken by a large serpent. You help save the town, the people, and the animals. It's creative and imaginative, which is sorely lacking in story lines today.
I played on an expert level and had no trouble, but there were a few challenges and that's not a bad thing. I would recommend for all players as the fun factor is excellent. It's a solid, well done game. I really enjoyed it!
Rescue Agency is a fun way to game in a relaxed setting. I'm new to these games, so this one was perfect for me. Instructions and tutorial are clear and easy to follow and goals were easy to accomplish.
This is a fairy tale game, so graphics are childlike, but still fun. I loved the colors in this game; very vibrant and strong and pleasing to look at. The music gets a little old because it's limited, but I can overlook it.
I believe the challenge level is based on a player's skill set. If you are new to these games, there's a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy.
It's nice to have a game like Rescue Agency in your gaming library where you don't have to think too hard and just enjoy a fantasy game that's cute and enjoyable. I recommend this game for all ages and skill levels.
I'm starting to enjoy Clutter games and The Diceman Cometh continues to push me in the direction of these types of games. I enjoy the folksy banter of the creator and tongue-in-cheek puns. They make this game stand out from the others and the player feels like they have a good friend leading them in gameplay.
There is tons of content to keep one busy...no story line but lots of puzzles.
I would recommend the game to everyone. It's a good set of puzzles to hone your skills that will apply to other games as well. Four stars is about right. Try the demo first before purchase.
I tried Murder by Moonlight because it was featured under highly rated games. However, when I went to download, it only averaged 3 stars. Hmm. I tried the demo anyway, not expecting to like this game. Now I'm hooked!
The opening doesn't present well. It sets up the storyline like a cheesy Harlequin romance or mystery novel. Graphics are average. But then you get into gameplay and it's addicting. This is mostly a Match-3 game with new goals for each grid and hidden object scenes as well. The player earns clues to the mystery by completing each location and adding the clues to a story board. Challenge level is easy to moderate.
If you give this game a chance, it will draw you in and it's hard to stop playing. Try the demo and keep going because it's really not a bad little game. I would recommend for all skill levels. I liked it very much and it turned out better than I thought it would. I intend to buy.
