I really enjoyed this creative Hidden Object game as a wonderful alternative to the Vacation/Park adventure series. To honest, I believe I enjoyed Vacation Paradise: Florida more because there are many options to customize each scene to your liking.
You may choose not only from three skill levels, but you may also choose how you would like your clues presented: in alphabetical order, scrambled, silhouette, etc. There are also mini-games between each level.
I consider my skill level to be expert in most games, but after choosing the timed level, which is the most difficult, I had to downgrade to a relaxed game with no timer. So there is always room for improvement and multiple plays to up one's score.
The graphics are colorful and the scenes are well done. The music, however, became wearisome. Short loops of the same music became a little tedious, especially when it took a little more time to complete a scene.
As for the big picture, I loved this game! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys hidden object challenges. Big props for being able to customize the game.
The title of this game hooked me right away because there are two of my favorite things in it: books and Victorian. As a former librarian, I couldn't wait to play this game.
This is a very creative game where the player gets to interact with famous authors and book characters. You work together to preserve the original stories from being altered. The graphics are good as well as the voice overs.
I have to take away one star because this game is really easy and isn't much of a challenge. It's great for beginners and intermediate players and most will be playing for the fun factor.
It's a nice little game with a story that thinks outside the box. It's enjoyable and a great way to spend some time without overthinking. I recommend the game and its message to pick up a good book. Try the demo to be sure it's for you.
I wondered about all the bad reviews about Ghost of Misty Hill, so I just played the demo. The negative reviews are more about not being able to download the game due to a glitch rather than the quality of the game, which is unfortunate. I get the frustration of buying a game and not being able to download it...it's a bummer and I sympathize with everyone who had this issue. That being said, Ghost of Misty Hill isn't a bad game.
The story line is easy to follow, the graphics are good and there are characters to interact with. It's a spooky asylum-type game...dark and edgy. I play on an expert level and I found the challenges, well, challenging...lol. That's not a bad thing considering most story games I've played recently seem pretty easy. So I enjoyed the challenges.
I would recommend the game and hope that in the future reviews are based on the game, not the glitch. I believe I saw someone share that it has been fixed. I would consider purchasing the game if so. It's a pretty solid game otherwise.
This is the first time I've tried this kind of game, so my review is based on the trial. In the allotted time, I was able to complete three pictures of various skill levels. I really enjoyed it! There's a sense of accomplishment in completing a picture and there are plenty to choose from.
It didn't take long to figure out the controls. Just a couple of tips: use the paint bucket feature to fill out squares of the same color grouped together instead of a paint brush. It makes the process move along more quickly. And use the magnifier. It helps you find those single pesky squares that may be hiding.
You have the option of adjusting the colors to your liking. As someone who pretty much sticks to story-based games, this was a nice change. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend to others who are stuck in one kind of game like me. Great fun!
Lately, I've been a little bored with most of the story games being developed. Most of them these days are solitary games without characters to interact with, story lines that are so beyond reality they are ridiculous and hard to follow, and challenges that are too easy. But this episode of Grim Tales (not a Collector's Edition) was pleasant to play.
There are plenty of characters who talk to you and guide you through the plot of the story. Although a little paranormal and sci-fi, it's easy to follow. Graphics are good and the voice actors do an excellent job compared to newer games where they just read blandly through a script.
So I give this game 4 stars and rated everything good. It's a solid game that is fun to play and you don't have to think too much. I play on expert level and had no problems. Good for beginners and intermediates. It's good to know there are still games like this being developed that still have a fun factor. I recommend this game.
I decided to try Criminal Archives not knowing what to expect. I've become a bit jaded as there are so many games now that are cookie cutter copies and have unimaginative story lines. Most challenges these days are too easy and don't require much thought. But I felt that Alphabetic Murders was pretty good overall. The challenges were a little more difficult than the usual "use a penny to remove screws" formula. I liked that when moving from scene to scene it wasn't limited to just a few connected sites. It required thought to move through the whole layout and unlock the mysteries. The graphics are pretty good, although the characters are a little primitive. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good little game and worth taking a look at. Try the demo first to be sure you want to purchase. I recommend this game, and it's a good game to hone your skills as a beginner or intermediate.
My review is based on playing the demo. The story line for Beyond Time is a mix of paranormal and sci-fi. It was difficult to follow or grasp the plot of the story, so it takes away the fun factor. There is some character interaction, but most of your time will be spent reading notes, papers, and character dialogue to get the gist of the plot...a LOT of reading.
I consider myself an expert player; the challenges seemed easy to moderate for me as I didn't have any trouble moving through the game.
The visuals are average, the music is limited as if in a loop, so you hear the same thing over and over. The voice actors are uninspired. Game developers should understand that this is part of the experience and make sure they put as much effort into the voices as into gameplay.
I would like to rate this higher, but compared to other games, it's an average game that lacks a fun factor and excitement. I would recommend for beginners or someone just starting out. Always try the demo before purchase.
I always look forward to these games because they are dependable and fun. You know what you're getting: great hidden object scenes, moderate challenges, and a relaxing time. Although not story based with a plot, it's great fun going from destination to destination on the ship. There are a a variety of games to keep you busy and a it's a great way to unwind. I highly recommend this game, but always try the demo to make sure it's your cup of tea.
This game was a breath of fresh air for me. After playing other story based games, this one is more interesting and has more interaction with characters than most. There are a variety of games and challenges, but the challenge level was easy to moderate for me and I generally consider myself an expert. So for gamers, this might not hold a lot of challenge. One star off because I felt the visuals were a little dark and not too colorful and the music was a little redundant and dull after a while. But as for the big picture, I loved the game. I played the demo and intend to buy. I recommend playing the demo as well to see if the game is your cup of tea.
I've been a Big Fish gamer for a long time. Many of the current games just aren't creative or interesting, but Living Legends has remained consistent over the years. Creative, interesting story lines, interaction with the characters and visually appealing. This game doesn't disappoint. All the trademarks of the Living Legends series are here and it's a lengthy game, so you get your money's worth. As always, try the demo to be sure it's for you. It's a fun game and will keep you busy.
