AGON is an acronym for "Ancient Game of Nations", and our protagonist, one Professor Samuel Hunt, of the British Museum, is up to his ears in antiquities and intrigue in this first, very short, installment in the AGON series.
The Professor finds an important piece of sculpture which eventually takes him to Lappland, where he continues his quest to discover the statue's dark secret.
Though short, the first installment was intuitive and quite necessary to the Professor's future quests. So, when thinking about purchasing one of the games from the AGON Series, I highly recommend that you start with "The London Scene," as this first part points you squarely in the right direction.
By the way, the graphics and sound were superb, and the storyline was outstanding. Though short, this game was well worth the purchase price!
BRAVO, Private Moon Studios!

Nobilis Games and Kheops Studios, have succeeded beautifully in giving us a pirate adventure of the highest order.
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island," Jim Hawkins, the little kid of "apple barrel" fame, is all grown up, and summoned secretly to Treasure Island by none other than Long John Silver, himself! Jim must find the treasure before the buccaneers do!
Pirates and plots abound, as do cannons and guns and ships and enigmas of all kinds. There is a beautiful, young girl and difficult puzzles, with a steep rock cliff to traverse, as well.
This game was a non-stop treat to play, and I advise all who read this review to play the game. You CANNOT pass this one up!
I recommend this game!

Kudos to Benoit Hozjan, Executive Producer and Managing Director of Kheops Studio, Located in Paris, France. They just keep giving us one brilliant game after another, much like HER INTERACTIVE does with the NANCY DREW SERIES.
This sequel to "Return to Mysterious Island" is far more complex and even more interesting than its predecessor.
Kheops even managed to bring Michel Ardan and his Selenites (Moon People), along with their voices, to this game. I was both surprised and elated!
This game is LOADED with puzzles and mysteries, both underground -- in caves -- and on the surface. Mina even has to go underwater with her diving equipment to fix critical wreckage that is blocking the safety of all on the island. She and Jep are confronted by a veritable "army" of vicious and warlike simeons, and even have an "official" council meeting to see what they can do to confront this very real problem.
There are alternate endings, and, without giving anything away, I must say that, no matter what your choice, you'll probably want to change it.
This was a large and very difficult game that will keep your engine racing right up to the last scene! BUY IT!
BRAVO, BIG FISH GAMES!
I recommend this game!

Jules Verne, the great French Novelist, got a very big boost from Kheops Productions as that great company enhanced and added to Verne's original novel written in 1874, entitled:
"L'Ile Mysterieuse."
In the novel, five men were stranded, whereas, in the Kheops game, only a brave girl named Mina was stranded.
The men managed to tame an orangatan that they named Jup, and Mina tamed and tended to a wounded monkey that she called Jep. The men learned to fend for themselves, as did Mina, who did exactly what the men did. She managed to make fire, pottery, bricks, nitroglycerin, iron, and even produced electricity.
She was stranded in the South Pacific on an island whose locale remained a mystery. It was Lincoln Island, the same designation as in the book, and she and Jep lived in a cliff cave named "Granite House."
This game became more and more gripping as the player progressed, and great battles and struggles ensued in a very sci-fi way.
The game is of medium difficulty and is non-linear. The graphics are excellent, and both visual and sound surprises abound. This is one of the best games I have ever played, and I am now beginning to play the sequel: "Return to Mysterious Island 2: Mina's Fate."
This is a "MUST BUY!"

This little game was a real romp, and kept you wondering just WHODUNNIT!
There were the usual Drew games which were fun and sometimes a bit tricky to play. And, of course, there were the secret rooms and passageways that are the hallmark of all of the Nancy Drew games.
All in all, this was a very satisfying and exciting game, and another triumph for HER INTERACTIVE and BIG FISH GAMES!
I recommend this game!

I don't even know where to begin to critique this massive game! It is the l-o-n-g-e-s-t game I have ever played. So long, in fact, that an "intermission" should have been included!
I fell in love with the sometimes arrogant and sometimes humanoid Selenites (lunar creatures#, and became very attached to them. I was so enthralled with the moon and its beauty that I did not want to return to earth, much like the way I felt after i reached Syberia, in that masterful game.
There are SO MANY THINGS TO DO in this game! Deciphering ideograms, solving many logic, math, intelligence tests, #including extremely difficult audio exams!#, and discovering how to get from place to place in the Selenite caves #there are SIX levels!), on the moon's surface amid fierce, giant plants, and playing a giant organ in different ways to summon the Selenites working in the fields back to the caves, are just a handful of examples of what the player can look forward to.
You will need to consult a walkthrough from time to time, but even a walkthrough won't help you with many of the "random" puzzles or in many other areas. You'll have to find the solutions on your own because YOU ARE completely on your own, and there are no hints.
I must say, with all candor, that this game touched me more than any other I have ever played. I will NEVER forget the "disarmingly loveable" Selenites, and I will visit them again and again, just as I do Syberia!
BRAVO, KHEOPS! BRAVO, BIG FISH GAMES!
I recommend this game!

This most intricate game, described on the WWW as "The Most Difficult Of All," is full of room after room of codes and laser beams and strange stones to stand on to reach something you need, and much more.
The codes are decidedly diabolic in difficulty, and yet, this is NOT the most difficult game I have ever played.
Oh, it will have you in a tizzie, what with its "execute one way, only" codes and combinations, and it will keep you busy just going from room to room.
Non-linear in nature, the game often had me turning around and entering the wrong room, only to turn back to where I came from and aim my cursor in a different direction.
It is a masterpiece of scholarly research and derring-do on the part of the developers, and my admiration goes out to them.
If you want a game that is full of head-scratching puzzles, and a mansion full of safes (FIND THAT ULTIMATE SAFE!),
then, this game is for you and you should rush to buy it!
I recommend this game!

I thought, from the outset, that tis was going to be an adventure game, a la "The Curse of Blackmoor Manor," or " "The Tree of Life."
Wow! Was I ever fooled! This is nothing more than a HIDDEN OBJECT GAME with some very interesting puzzles thrown into the mix.
I WILL SAY, in defense of this game, that the puzzles, jigsaws, cryptic, etc, were ususally associated with the game, so you weren't just running off to look for a pear or a brooch.
Nevertheless, the endless searching gets to you, when all you're looking for is a plot somewhere!
This game REALLY HAD NO PLOT. Let's be honest. And yet, it is a wonderful game for those who like to search and hunt and play games.
As for myself, I prefer the heavier, much more challenging fare that's offerred in the Large File Section. I also want a plot -- a good plot -- to follow.
I tried the one-hour free version of "Fall Trilogy: Chapter Two.," and, although I liked the modern atmosphere, I was almost immediately sent on a hunt for 20 elevator access cards. Thanks, but, no thanks!
I recommend this game for puzzle and HOG addicts, only.
I recommend this game!

This enthralling game is chock-full of dialogue and a few very long monologues, so, be prepared.
The game is intriguing in the sense that, there are no hints or sparkles of any kind. You're completely on your own.
The story line is very good and the characters are interesting. And, strangely, a Chief Inspector's last name is Clouseau!
The dialogue lines, which just seem to "stand there," can be moved along if you left-click your mouse after each sentence or clause. Or, you can click off all of the dialogue and run the risk of not fully knowing what's going on.
The locales are great: Germany, France, Mexico, etc. And the scenes are always colorful and alive. The game also has a nice, long length.
The protagonist, one Martin Holan, has his hands full, especially at the end, in a Mayan temple, as he tries to solve a bead, or marble puzzle. I must admit that this particular puzzle was the most difficult I have ever encountered. It takes some time -- even hours to solve! But it's worth it, as are all the rest of the wonderful mysteries contained in this game.
If you liked "Syberia," "Syberia II," and "The Tree of Life," then you'll love Ni.Bi.Ru.
I recommend this game!

This was a great intellectual endeavor on the part of the developers, who, unlike any other gaming team I've encountered, have managed to come across with a truly great game without once resorting to puzzles, HOGs or mini-games. Everything is plot. Pure plot.
This is, perhaps, the most difficult game I have ever tried to solve. I played with "hints off," and that really made it tough going. And what a mystery! Even the mystery was a mystery because you didn't know what you were looking for or what the end result of the game could possibly be! I found myself wandering around in the dark, wondering what to do next. I only "heard things." That's all. And I became a bit paranoid. I suspected everyone in the game, and I suspected no one, after a while. It all rather reminded me of Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau of the famous series of films made by the late, great Peter Sellers, who once said, in the midst of one of his bumbling investigations:
"I suspect everyone, and I suspect no one."
And that's just how this game is. It is quite long. It is also darksome, gloomy, and riveting. It provides the player with the very highest of challenge pinnacles.
Many say they quit this game because they got motion sickness. Strange. They never said that about all the other non-linear games, including the entire Drew Series. I would encourage them to go back and take the game one step at a time. No hurry. I was, more than once, greatly frustrated, as I tried to retire for the night. Yet, my character kept repeating:
"As tired as I am, I still can't sleep. I think I'll look around some more."
I found that the reason I could NOT sleep was because I missed a step somewhere. Finally, after I found a needed object, I drifted off to sleep.
I would again encourage those who have given up on this game to stay with it, if only for a few minutes a day. Eventually, you will win! And let me tell you, the ending is
u-n-f-o-r-g-e-t-t-a-b-l-e.
Just a caveat for the developers. There are many of us out here in gameland that deplore swearing of any kind. Actually, I'd prefer it if you'd use a four-letter word rather than the name of God because, then, that wouldn't be swearing. It would just be crude and rude. So c'mon! Clean that stuff up for us and for BIG FISH GAMES!
I recommend this game!
