Ok, I played the first one in the series and disliked it because of the excessive backtracking, and this one, sadly is too, there is no map but it is less frustrating to explore. There are more places to go to and you don't have to change the light that often. Graphic is similar to the first game and this time another improvement is that the evil monsters speak.. well, not so creepy still but I do appreciate the dev. effort to put more things that are lacking in the first game. I like that it is set in Thailand. I disliked the ending though, seem like I go through all these troubles just for that?? Hope the third game is better.

This game has been around some time but I just had the time to play it. I realized that this game only has 3 chapters and each chapter is really long, esp. ch. 1 and 3. I like the idea of having turn the light and dark, which means more place to explore and see, but this becoming a hassle way in the game, because that's what exactly we should do: change the light, turn off the light and basically your area of exploring are just the hotel, the hospital, the police station and the museum. Going back and forth between these places are a big troublesome when you just need one item and you have to change light, back out more than 6 times each to go back another 6 times and without any map. I am getting frustrated and want to finish the game soon. The evil monsters are okay, but they don't speak (no voice overs) so it is not very scary. The sound and graphic are fine. My only concern is just the backtracking. they are way too much. The setting to be in kind of ancient Maya is cool but sorry, it is just not enough to save this game from my frustration.

I like ERS games but they are well known for having the weirdest of storyline and this one is no exception, in fact I think this is the strangest and make no sense at all. I don't like having to deal with monkeys and severed head, but I decided to give this a try since I have to use my free game coupon which is about to expire. Up to chapter 2 I realize there is no HOG, which is great! But again, I dislike having to deal with a big monkey and some part we have to deal with animals, sometimes with a little cruelty. I don't know what's the deal with the holographic cat in the first place. It is just there but no apparent connection with the story. What I like most is that the game is very long and really there is no HOG. Sometimes I need this kind of adventure games. If you don't mind seeing some talking heads, then this game might be OK for you..
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema!

I own McInroy Manor but skip Sunnyvalle, but the good reviews from this made me buy this third game in their series. One thing I like best from this game is that the story is nice, quite original, I might say, and have nice voice overs. The HOG scenes are quite interactive, and easy to find. The puzzles also not that difficult although I can say I skip many. The map is very useful and I almost don't have to use walkthrough because the map tells you where you should go and do next. I can say this one restores back the goodness of the first Fear for Sale and I might try Sunnyvale next.

I tried the CE for this game and was torn between buying the CE or SE but I finally resorted on buying the SE because so many reviews said that the game is very short. I played the whole game and I share the sympathy because the game IS short. I think I finished it in just a little less than 3 hours. In about 1.5 hours I am halfway through the game so it's really short. However the game doesn't drag, which is good, many interesting character and good voice over and the fact that it is set in Europe, which is my favorite setting, is an added bonus. I never heard of Kisilova and although I searched in wikipedia, nothing much seems to show about the town itself so I am not sure whether this game is based on true events or not. The ending of the game leaves open question which I think is resolved in CE, but I think I can settle with just SE for now.
A murderous figure in a red mask haunts the streets of a small French town, and the mayor needs your help to track him down. But you soon discover that the mysterious Red Masque might not be the real criminal…

I own all DT:EAP games because I love detective mysteries. This one has improvement in graphics, game style but I don't know why, I prefer the older ones. The best part in this game is determining who's guilty and who's not. I am torn between choices, although honestly I don't really care much with the spheres of guilt that we have to collect in this game. I don't like the HOG puzzles, to me doesn't make much sense, like taking out burning hot form from the ember? shooting down chandelier with burning candles because it will fall? chasing away a tiger with a small dog? I mean, come on! But the graphic in this game is sharper, although in HOG scenes, you can still feel the bluriness that is ERS style. The music, as expected, same in all the game. I give A for effort from ERS team to make a better quality game, but I hope they will consider some more logic in the gameplay.

When I first tried this game, it reminds me so much of a certain game developer which I love, the cursor, the interface, the map, everything about it is so familiar, so I love this game immediately. The game length is long, nice story, although not excellent, but nice enough to keep me entertained. The puzzles are one of the easiest and it's just enough for me, since I don't really like mini games. The map is useful since it keeps all areas in one big screen. Without the map we will probably completely lost, since there are many backtracking involved. With the helpful map, I don't really use the SG. The graphic of the game is very nice, but the character graphic is not very much. The name of the character. Van Helsing, is kind of funny, But this time, she is not a daughter of vampire hunter. Anyway, I really enjoy this game, the ending of the bonus chapter leaves question for next game, which I like. I hope to see more of this developer.

Too bad BFG review only has 5 stars, if not I want to give it 7. This is one of the two best games of 2013 for me, the other being The Nutcracker from Elephant Games. I am so in awe with storyline, the interface, the graphic, the game flows very nicely and it's a journey. When I finished the whole game and bonus chapter, I want to applaud the developer for making such a fantastic games. HOG games are not the usual HOG, but different kinds combined and random, with fantastic animations, wonderful story, which integrated into mini games. I don't really like puzzles, usually I skip, but this one I don't mind playing and I want to know what happens next. The hint and skip button very fast recharging and map is very useful. Very nice voice overs, graphic, sound. This game is simply flawless.

I love all Shiver games in the past, they are downright creepy and have good storyline. This one, you know immediately is about werewolf, and it's a story being used so many times already. The game interface and graphic are by far better, but not in storyline. It's the third in the series, but no map, no achievement, for a CE this game is lacking. There are lots of backtracking but no map available so it's a hassle. The first part of the game where we met a hermit (the picture is on the game thumbnail), is good, but only that part. I don't want to make a spoiler here, but to sum it up, it is no more creepy from then onwards. Like all the other Shiver games, it is also raining thunderstorms. I know it is to add scariness to the game but to hear thunderclaps every 4 seconds? That's silly and annoying. It doesn't have to be over the top. Instead of making good sounds, please make it better on map and extras and make the CE price worthwhile. I am not that keen on finishing the game and knowing what happens, but I always finish my game, so I did, but this game left me no much impression. Please, next time go back to the storyboard which made the first in the series one of the best games of all time.

Is this game made by the same developer who made Small Town Terror: Livingston? Because if they do, wow, what an improvement in all quality: story, graphic, music, gameplay. I really enjoy playing this game. The map is useful although there are some parts and rooms where you can't access until you click the main area. The hint is very useful, it does not only tells you what to do, but guide you to where you should go next. I really like this kind of hint, for a beginner like me, this system is very useful. The graphic is very realistic. Very nice atmosphere, kind of creepy but nonetheless engaging. The bonus chapter is not bad, although I don't really like anything set below the sea, it's hard to see when everything is blue. Bonus contents are pretty diverse. Love the whale bone search! Overall this game is two thumbs up for me. If they ever make another STT, hope it will be as good as or better than this one!
