Among the three NB series, this one is probably the most well developed in terms of story and interface. It's probably the very beginning of Alawar success of HOG games. This game is combination of HOG and adventure and it was quite fun. Skip and hint button are quite useful. The game length is fine, but the chapters seem to get shorter and shorter as it progresses. I think I finished the game in less than 3 hours. The last chapter took about 5 minutes. I don't recall Alawar makes another game in the series but I think 3 in NB series is enough. Time to move on and glad that I bought this game!

I love this game the most of all NB games, maybe because it's old, and it reminds me back of old days before all the goodness of HOG games. This game consists of 7 chapters, each chapter is 2 levels, so a total of 14 levels. However the game play is rather short. I see many improvement from the last game, Secrets of Treasure House, which is a relief, such as the wide screen, skip and hint button, combination of HOG and story. The music is upbeat, which I like, however I dislike the useless conversations between the characters which can be a drag. Other than that, I love the game. A good game for beginners/ starters in adventure game.

I bought this game because a) it's from Alawar and b) I like NB: Treasure of Lost Kingdom. Turns out this game is like prehistoric from other excellent Alawar games and this game frustrates me to the max. Here's why: - the screen is not wide - they're very stingy with hints, and to get one, you have to find items in 3(!) different places - skip button is practically useless. I never skip a minigame because it keeps asking for 'enough hints', and how to get one if they don't even give you one. - HOG scenes are just piles of junk and useless, unrelated stuff. You just do it to get hint, instead of something for your inventory. - many spelling mistakes and useless conversations that will keep appearing if you click incorrectly - minigames that just close and you have to start over if you click wrongly near the menu button.
I simply can't wait to finish this game and I almost unistall this game twice because I couldn't stand it. However I always finish all the games that I bought so I tried to stand with this one. Imagine my happiness when I see it done. Unless if you're a fan of Natalie Brooks, I suggest you skip this one.

I own every single game in this series but unfortunately this one is my least favorite. ERS Games haven't changed, so graphic is their typical style. The HOG games are few and they're diverse from finding regular items, to interactive, to shadow images. There're few animals here, but too bad they mostly don't do anything unless we give them something to eat. The usual good thing from ERS is here: the nice voice overs, the length, the SG, the extras, but this game has serious loading issues in my computer. On on the first screen it freezes and I have to restart the game at least twice to make it work. In the end it's getting slower, maybe because of the first loading issue. I try to finish this game as soon as possible so not to meet another technical problem. In the end, if you want to buy this game, please make sure you try the demo first and decide.

I am not a fan of Charles Dexter Ward game but this one is an exception.. First scene of the game, looks like Dark Parables to me, but it soon grew on me. The graphic is crisp, nice voice overs and great extras for a CE. I esp. love the behind the scene video, it's like nothing I have seen in other CEs. For storyline, I am not so keen on it. I see that this is not the devs fault, they have made an awesome game. Hopefullly Cerasus Media can make other game, but not Charles Dexter Ward next time..

MCF: Dire Grove is the first game in MCF series that I bought. I loved the SE and now I bought the CE. Everything in this game is so great that I so wish that all game developers to be just as good as this. In this CE, there is no extra gameplay, but there's something special that you won't get in an SE and it doesn't involve the regulars wallpapers, screensavers and all the usual stuff. I don't need the extra gameplay as the regular game itself is already so good. The acting is really well done, and I love watching the videos (a thing that I dislike usually in a game) and kept me hooked. The SG is fine, if only it is together with the game and not to be accessed from the main menu, this game will get 110% score from me. Nothing bad to say about this game, just simply buy it and you won't be disappointed.

Love the SE very much that I also bought the CE to know the ending of the story. The story is kind of sad, but also creepy. Those who are afraid of clowns, there are plenty here. I love all the extras and the deleted scenes part.. wish they include them in the game.. I have nothing negative to say about this game, except that the SG is located in the menu and have to be accessed from there. Other than that, it's perfection. An awesome game from Alawar.
When your daughter, Emily, is taken over by a mysterious force, you must travel to the Nightmare Realm to search for a cure. But nothing could have prepared you for what you find there…

I loved the first game in the series so I bought it. There are some improvements from the first game, namely the voice overs, the graphic is also more crisp, but I was a bit disappointed as I am not really sure what is the goal of the game, to save our husband, or for us to go back to the real world? anyway it was not as entertaining as the first one, the hint doesn't really show you what to do, instead it tells you, and it is hard for me to follow. Emily, in this game, has really no role and it is really up to us to save the day. She was 10 years older than when she was in the first game, but she doesn't look that mature. I don't know what's going to happen with Emily when the game ends, so it's a bit disappointment. The map is still not interactive and as the game progresses, I feel that my game loads slower. The extra chapter is good, I feel that this game is not a happy ending and may not be suitable for children to play. If there should be another sequel, I hope it will be better.

I have the SE and I really like it. When the presidential sale was on, I bought the CE as I want to know the extra chapter. As usual, the graphic is good, the SG is interactive, however the map is not. There's a lot of backtracking and although the graphic is gorgeous, unfortunately there is no voice overs. The extra chapter is good, but I don't really see much of a connection. It feels just like chores to me. It's quite a sad story. For a CE it's just fine, nothing is really special, the concept art, the wallpaper and the other extra are not bad, but they don't make much difference to the SE anyway. If you have the SE, then I would suggest you to just keep it. The CE is not that much a difference.

Really, there is nothing bad to say about this game, Great voice overs, good storyline, nice graphics, useful hints, fast skip button, very nice map.. I really enjoy playing this game. The first in the series, Lockwood Manor, seems so far away from this one. Seems like the developer really put lots of thoughts into making the sequel and it really shows. The bonus chapter is good and long too, but the HOG scenes and the story seem like another game of its own. It's good, though. Really recommend this game. Truly a wonderful one.
