I love the first installment that I bought this without trying the demo. This game has many improvements from the first one, we can now pick up things and use them, like many other HOG games out there. However, I feel like the game is rather short, for 3 stories and the third one is esp. short. I played it for 1 hour, and that hour included me going back and forth to the kitchen, calling my mom and others. I feel like the third story was rushed and without enough clues. I feel like the Irish accent there is bad, doesn't sound like an Irish to me. The first installment where Jessica was in London, the voice acting is superb. Also I am getting weary of each suspect asking "you can't prove it!" and the like, and what we do is to show them the evidence and they quickly confess. I may be the very few people who think that the first installment is better than this one although of course in terms of gameplay, this one is superior. And one more thing, doesn't Jessica feel cold at all walking in the snowfall wearing just her regular suit? I wish the game developer could be more sensitive and pay more attention to detail. Well, aside from that, I have nothing to complain and hope that they will soon release the third game.
I recommend this game!

Pls note that before playing this game, I don't know anything about Murder, She Wrote. I just like detective type games and this one I bought very recently. After playing lots of timed HOG games, this game is truly the best alternative for me. I chose carefree mode of course, and I can play at leisure. Great voice overs, I don't find the many dialogues annoying, I love them even. The HOG scenes are not many, but the items move every time and they're not so cluttered. They even connected with the story and the background of the area. The story flows nicely and a bit slow, but that lets you know about the story and even guess the culprit. I have so much fun guessing who is the real culprit and many times I was wrong, but it was so fun nonetheless. Really great buy, I love it!

I bought this game because I like its similar games by Floodlight like James Patterson and Agatha Christie. I know their style of HOG games which are tiny items put into a scene, but they're so realistically drawn that I really don't mind much. On the demo I can finish till Investigation 4 that I assume it won't be too much difficult although there is only one mode, that is timed game. As the game progressed, it's getting more difficult, as the time given is the same (25 min) but the location is more. I feel this game is harsh since we dont get any other option except being timed, and we also have to find optional item, but we dont get any hint. And when we exhaust all the hint, we can't get anymore that we are left in the dark, and tried to find the tiny items among the pile, even as small as a dot also count. The game is rather long as I used up almost all of the time given. However when you finish the game, there's some sense of achivement that you can go through all those things. I still tnk this game has a replay value. I will definitely play this game again after some time. If you like challenges in HOG, this game is for you.

This was one of the first games that introduced me to HOG.. Ever since, I am hooked, so it's a bit of nostalgia playing this one. I like the story but I hate how clutter the HOG scenes were, and every 3 wrong clicks give you penalty. It's difficult seeing things in such messy scenes. But I like the storyline, which I think is original, and ever since, Mumbo Jumbo delivers many great similar games and it keeps getting better. Hope to see more of their games (less clutter, please!)

When I purchased this game, I don't know anything about Nora Roberts nor read any of her novels. Romance novels are really not my thing. I purchased this game simply because I love I-play and I love their games: Agatha Christie and James Patterson series. I know their HOG scenes are super difficult to find, but that's because they make the graphic so realistic. I don't mind finding the items but sometimes finding color in same color like white item in a snow is very challenging and sometimes difficult in the eyes. For mini games lover, this game maybe not for you, too many repetition but luckily we can just skip it without waiting. I don't see any other Nora Roberts game in BFG except this one, but if there is, I will surely buy it if it's from the same developer.

This game is super fun.. not only a combination of HOG scenes, but also typing game and learning about the novel. It's a great way to learn more about this classic literature. The shop feature is great, too. I am glad that this game challenges our knowledge in writing and vocabularies. One flaw is that the items can be difficult to find and blend with background color. Other than that, this game is long and definitely worth your money.

Currently my favorite developer, Alawar keeps on giving us best games with best storyline there is. After finishing Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town, I was once again spoilt with this one. Leave it to Alawar for giving us best games and best storyline with great graphics, music and games to top it all. There are backtracking but they're manageable. Skip button very fast and map, although not interactive, you dont really need it because it's quite clear on what you have to do next. Love the concept, the creepiness and of course, the storyline, I couldn't guess who it is until the last minute. Definitely worth buying.
I recommend this game!

Love all Elephant Games including this one, great story, excellent sound and graphic, very useful hint, skip and map. However one flaw is that it is way too many backtracking and I got confused, one item in inventory and you have to really think on where you are supposed to use it because there are so many tasks given to you at once. The game is quite long, the bonus chapter itself is super long. I think this game is really worth the price. Even if you are not a fairy tale fan, you should give this one a try.

I am a fan of Alawar Games and this one is no exception. The concept of deserted city is not the most original but they combine it with alien and science fiction. I don't really keen with the idea since I don't like sci-fi. The atmosphere of the game is creepy until I found some aliens in it and I kind of lost interest. The game story itself minus the alien is very good, very helpful map and hints, and great voice overs although the characters seem to move very awkwardly. Still, I love this game and I love Alawar but I hope no more alien story in near future!

Wow, what a game to close the year.. this game is super awesome and probably the best for this year.. Superb graphic, great voice overs, exciting story and all the great things that you expect from a game are all here. I have nothing bad to say about this game. Everything here is excellent. I esp. adore the candle which I think so very cute. The characters are likable (except the rats, of course, you will surely feel like kicking them in the face!). I am very sorry when the game ends because I wish it could go on and on and on... best game of the year!
