Never even finished the demo. I found myself just clicking through and bored. Awkward game that did not flow smoothly. Graphics were dark and comic book like.
A lot of puzzles so you didn't get far in the game without being interrupted with one which made the game slow and a bit clunky. Puzzles were not well explained and annoying...things seemed to lag. Can't put my finger on it, but it just didn't grab me.
Way to many cut scenes and those ridiculous glasses...some things didn't even make sense. Not even worth a game credit for me.
Wow, I didn't even get far into the demo before I got bored with this one. Don't understand all the great reviews. Way too much dialog and voice overs really sounded scripted.
Puzzles were too frequent and I could see the storyline really getting lost in this one. Graphics and animations were really good though. Not for me, even on sale.
Story line isn't new, but the game was smooth flowing which is always welcome. HOS were different which made them fun..not hard and not super easy. Puzzles, well I skipped almost all...I'm not a puzzle lover (I don't have the patience for them), but I felt these were either tedious, hard or not well explained. Puzzle lovers will love them.
The inventory did get loaded up sometimes, but items were often used multiple times at one site so that worked. Transporter map was great and you needed to use it as the game did jump around a bit...which I didn't mind because it was always a smooth transition. I didn't feel the the game was "super easy", I've been playing these games for years and felt it did have its challenging moments. Probably some felt it was easy because it was so smooth flowing.
Time wise, it wasn't so long you lost interest or the story line got lost...just right for me. If you want a game which is fun to play and doesn't frustrate you, this is a good one.
Typical HOS game with variety in the puzzles which were doable. Items could be difficult to find due to size and coloring; black on black and green on green for example.
Can't say I found it to be a real gripper especially since I was on the relax mode...maybe its better on timed mode. I didn't pay full price so I guess the game was OK. I found the game a bit blurry and especially those painting which I think were suppose to look like water colors(?) and that got tiring and annoying.
Sixty levels and places are played twice and sometimes 3 times. If someone asked me if it was fun and should they buy it, I'd say no...don't waste your money there are better HOS out there, but if you have a credit or its a DD...maybe so to kill some time.
The demo started out well, but after the purchase the game got gradually more awkward...I guess that is the best word. Puzzles were either tedious, not well explained or difficult...I skipped them all, but then I'm not a puzzle lover. HOS were kind of the same way...needed the hint sometimes to get started.
Storyline was same-o same-o and actually kind of got lost by the end of the game. Transporter map was good, but the game got to where it was jumping all over the place...get an item here...go there, etc. I kind of got tired of the game and just started using the hint to hurry the game along.
I got it with a coupon, so no money lost, but I don't think I would recommend spending the full fee on it.
Basically, time management games are pretty much the same kind of game play, however I found this one nearly impossible to achieve anything higher than a 1 and maybe 2 star after awhile. When starting out, 3 stars were pretty easy to get, but later on 2 stars got really hard and then eventually even 1 stars were beginning to be a challenge.
I played on what is a relaxed mode which allows the timer to run out, but you can still keep playing the level. I can't even imagine trying to play this game on a more challenging level that requires you to finish before the timer runs out. This kind of game play really isn't any fun. I finally stopped caring about whether I achieved any stars at all just to get through the game and get to the end. I'm not new to time management, but this on was way too difficult to make it fun.
The farther you get in the game, you need to figure out the one specific strategy that "unfolds" the level to win. Not good. Glad I didn't spend full price for this.
This one was better than the last. I almost didn't buy it but the demo seemed good. However, it turned out this was a very awkward game in my opinion. Options allowed you to change the hint and skip time which was good because the puzzles were not well explained and could be confusing and tedious. The HOS were not always clear as to what to do; almost like a developer was trying to create something different, but never quite got it right.
The storyline basically got lost amid all the wandering around and an inventory which got way too full. Instead of a fun, smooth play, I spent time just trying to figure it out just what I was suppose to do. The transporter map was also awkward. Actually if I had paid full price I would have felt not worth money spent, but since I got it with a credit I'll just chock it was a bad mistake. I think its time to end the Puppet show series.
I almost didn't play this one because the last Dupin, Dark Tales was really bad. Dupin looked like he had been sleeping in an alley and the gameplay was not good. However, Dupin had cleaned up and was very congenial.
I found the gameplay fun and smooth and a challenge at times. I never do puzzles, but the puzzles appeared to be creative as were the HOS. Storyline was nothing unique, but fun anyway...could be confusing at time though.
I have started to turn away from these adventure like games as they have recently become mundane so this was refreshing.
Getting really tired of everything that comes out anymore is a Collectors game...everyone knows those are a waste of money. Something has changed with Big Fish, and not for the better.
I have played more challenging time management games before, but this was a relaxing, fun game to play. Almost all time management games are pretty much the same idea, but with different characters and scenes, but still play the same.
As with some time management games, you don't get to count the item picked up until the little guy gets it back to the house, with can be frustrating and tends to drag down the game.
Actually, this game is kind of a reverse order, the first 1/3 of the game has some kinda tricky levels you might not get 3 stars on, however the last 2/3 of the game have a time stop button which makes every level a 3 star level because you never run out of time. You might get a better challenge if you DON'T push the time stop button.
This is a timed game, but if you run out of time it does not make you play the level over, unless you want too, and you can come back to the levels you didn't do so well on later and try again. Like I said, nice easy gameplay.
This game had such high ratings and it looked so "innocent" that I purchased it (on sale, thank goodness) with only a small demo try. Wrong...this game is really hard. A few levels in and I cannot get any further and there is no chance to "skip" a level, so the game is finished for me. I've spent 2 hours and many tries trying to get any further.
It doesn't appear to be timed, but you do have to replay for some reason. Not the relaxing match 3 game I was hoping for. A very different kind.
