You know, I am confused about writing a review for this one. On the one hand, the game has all the quality one has been taught to expect from the Haunted Legends series, and on the other, well .... you can't trust the dialog.
Look: Twisted Fate has excellent everything except it gets lost in translation - a lot. The English is very poor, really mixed up at times, and sometimes quite good. It's as if there is one team member who speaks English and one who is using an out-dated version of the Google translation engine, and a 3rd member inserting comments that have nothing to do with anything, especially not the previous sentence.
Additionally, I was left with tray items in the main game, and some real oddities in the bonus game that left me shaking my head.
Go ahead and buy it - it's plenty of fun - just be prepared to see a bevy of question marks in your thought bubble.
Ah look - the colors are pretty, the sound effects are okay, and overall, this would be a good rainy day game if it weren't for the fact that you're forced through a tutorial as if you're a little kid - you can't skip it.
On top of that, the cursor lags so that when you're pointing to one side of the board, the star cursor is still behind at the other side.
I don't get the feeling that much thought was put into this game; there's s nothing new. It's as if they pulled the last one off the shelf and merely gave it a new name.

I love this series and frequently buy Redemption Cemetery episodes demo unseen, which I did this time.
Curse of the Mark is not up to the Redemption Cemetery standards. It's as if the team handed it off to someone else. Who doesn't speak English, btw.
Some of the directions are really screwy and the helpful messages (at the top of your screen, white on black) occasionally make no sense at all. For instance, "The stairs are so high" when there are no stairs at all. Like that. A lot.
I'll play it through, but not with the usual relish.
It's okay if you're a die-hard Redemption fan like me, but experts? You'll breeze through it, even with everything turned off.

I didn't wait more than 10 minutes into the demo before hitting the Buy button.
I don't know what's more dangerous - the Presence or the dilapidated mansion that should have been condemned like, 20 years ago.
Whether Martha gets to re-build the mansion or Whatsisname (the hubby) get his writer's mojo back up and running, or the couple ends up absorbed by the walls, the journey to the end is going to be exciting and challenging.

I don't usually read the reviews for Haunted Hotel games; I just buy the Collectors Editions right off.
But this time I was a beta tester, enjoyed the test drive, and wanted to see what others had to say.
The first 2 reviews this morning were not very happy or joyful, so I was prepared to be disappointed (yeah, I bought the game anyway - you root for your team even on bad days). :D
NOT DISAPPOINTED! I LOVED THIS HAUNTED HOTEL as usual, and CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE!!!
Creepy monsters, "ghost" child, lots of twists and turns, I forget how many cool scenes - the Other Side is awesome - great HOS', terrific graphics (even if the dev team got a couple of their monsters mixed up), no complaints at all.
Love you to pieces, Elephant Games, Merric Shank, and everyone else on the team!!!

In the first 2 levels you have 10 seconds to find three items before the whole thing shuffles and you have to find your items again. If you managed to click on one of the three you chose, that one remains active after the shuffle so you only need to find two more.
For some, that might be fun. For me, it is extremely annoying. I can't relax and just have fun playing the game.
If you're into that sort of thing, by all means, go for it.
Graphics are great. It's all great except for maybe the accents.
The game takes place in a French city called Lyon (without the "s" at the end) pronounced lee-ohn, not lion. The police officer seems to be the only character with a real French accent; the rest of the accents are a bit of a mishmash, but who cares? The game is a keeper.
I've put it on my Christmas game list. Can't wait.

At first, I thought this game was going to be full of the usual game ploys. One has a tendency to get bored after playing Big Fish for something like 10 or 15 years.
Boy. Was I wrong.
The graphics in this game are stunningly beautiful. They are like the prints in expensive editions of classic fairy tales.
PLUS - the devs came up with some new puzzles. I can't wait to buy this game. I interrupted the demo to rush over and tell you what a major joy this one is.
