I was all excited to see a combination game of HO and solitaire. Love playing both. BUT, I happened to read the reviews before downloading and changed my mind. I HATE games with timers. I enjoy relaxing and light challenging games that don't add stress. Timers turns on the stress button the minute I start playing.
Some may like it as a challenge, and if you do I hope you enjoy this game. It's just not for me!!
I didn't think I would want to purchase a remake just to have it with better visual and audio. I downloaded my original Drawn and the demo of ReDrawn: The Painted Tower. The difference was like night and day. I enjoyed the demo so much I didn't want it to end. The game was completely different. I was able to know where to go and what needed done. I did use the hint a couple of times, but didn't feel lost like I did in the original Drawn. Thank you Friendly Fox for the great remake!!
Somehow I missed purchasing this game when it came out in 2013. It was sold as a daily game recently so I bought it and am so glad I did.
They just don't make them like this anymore. It was suspenseful, and challenging. I love the old abandoned house games, and this one didn't disappoint me. I knew as soon as I started playing I was going to enjoy the game.
If you didn't grab this one up when it originally came out and miss the old style games, then definitely give this one a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.
I read the reviews, then gave the game a try. Up until now, Jigsaws Galore has been my favorite jigsaw puzzle game. It had so many options that none other I tried had. I would have to download holiday pictures to have holiday puzzles. It was a great plus because I could work any picture I had in my photos.
I read a review that said Sweet Holiday Jigsaws: Halloween didn't offer any of the options I was used to. I wanted a Halloween game, so downloaded the demo to try. The reviewer was mistaken. If you take the time to check out each of the buttons and click on each thing you see, it also has the features. If she had trouble getting out of the game, it was because you have to continue to hit the X at the right top of your screen instead of "exit" that we are used to. It also does save your puzzles. There are SO many to choose from.
Since I have played Jigsaws Galore for many years, it will take a little time to get used to Sweet Holiday Puzzles. I'm sure I will enjoy it just as much so I purchased it. If you enjoy jigsaw puzzles, try this one out. Take the time to walk through it.
I really enjoyed playing this game. I like eerie, spooky games and this was right up my alley. I have gotten so tired of the fantasy games, and games with amulets and special "talents". This games goes into 3 separate stories, yes imaginative stories, but with only using your wits to defeat the evil. Reminds me of the games I loved when I started playing HOPA games. Lots of mini puzzles, but not all hard and don't take away from the story or game. Definitely a well developed game, IMO.
I enjoyed the demo and plan to purchase the game. I love stories with leprechauns and Irish theme. The music was very relaxing and I enjoyed listening to it when playing the mini games or HOPs. The graphics were really good also. I look forward to playing this game during St. Patrick time of year. Good change from the everyday games.
I finished the demo and really enjoyed playing the game. I understand it is different for those who never played/enjoyed the Ravenhearst Series. I too struggled through the first two games in the series and didn't even finish one of them. BUT, the further I got into the series, the more I enjoyed the game play. The developers changed the design as they went along, which made me enjoy each game more than the one before it.
Because I wanted to follow the series without yearly breaks between the games, I played them all last year from first to last. I had no idea they would be coming out with this game that touches each character. What fun!
I loved the old style HOS and was able to figure out the puzzles. This game doesn't really have a strong adventure to it, but will attract the many thousands that loved the Ravenhearst Series. What a great idea for a game!
I know many players have joined BFG since Ravenhearst Series was out and never played that type of game, thus the bad reviews. It was so different from what is out today, which is really too bad since the Series was loved so much. You would think a developer would come out with something similar.
I can't wait to purchase and play the entire game. I stopped my membership June 15th, because I had so many games that I had not yet played. And, most of the games out today are fairytale, Sifi, other world, etc. Definitely not as much fun as in 2008 when I joined. I now have to wait for a good "non-member sale. Hmm..
I'm really enjoying this game. There is so much to do and look for that the time just flew by in the demo. That's unusual for me.
I thought the scenes were colorful and extremely clear. It was a joy just looking at each scene. The story was interesting and easy to follow. I didn't have to keep hitting the hint button just to see where to go next. In fact, I don't think I used the hint through the entire demo. Puzzles and HOS were varied and enjoyable. I usually skip the puzzles, but actually took the time to play these. They weren't long and complicated or boring.
I usually feel the time with puzzles, looking for collectables, and morphing objects takes away from playing the adventure part of the game. I didn't feel that way with this game, but enjoyed it all. So, even though the SE is now out, I might just purchase the CE for the extras. Take advantage of this weekends sale!
If you haven't tried the demo, you should. Like me, you might find you really like the game. Happy Gaming!
I'm very much enjoying this game. Yes it's old school, but how many times do we complain "they don't make games like they used to"?
I love the fact that there are no puzzles to distract from the game. I have only come across a few HOS, which I enjoy. That's why I play Hidden Object Games! But, what I like most about this game is that it is basically all adventure game play, trying to solve a murder mystery.
I don't need whistles and bells to enjoy a good game. I would love to play more games like this one. Thank you Developer, keep up the good work.
I just finished the demo and was really enjoying the game. I like haunted house games. I like that there are a variety of ghosts and although I only played the demo, I think each ghost will have a different reason for being murdered.
I know the theme of the story has been played before, but it is one that you can understand and relate to.
I also like the fact that you don't carry a large inventory, but get to use an item quickly, or find it pretty quick. I hate having to try and remember what I needed an item for and can't because it was so far back in the game.
This game also flowed and was easy to follow. At least in the demo. I usually leave reviews after playing the entire game, instead of the demo. But, I've gotten behind with my games and don't know how soon I will actually play the entire game. I do plan however, to purchase the game.
Many reviewers complain about spooky games and want more fairy tale games. I personally prefer the scary, spooky games and would like less fairy tales. So, to each their own pleasure. Just don't complain when your favorite games aren't being released. Your turn will be next. :)
