I really enjoyed playing this game. I enjoyed the story and hoped for a good ending, which I got.
I thought it was challenging, but mostly because I wasn't always sure what I needed to do next. I did use the hint often, especially toward the end of the game.
The map was pretty useless as far as letting you know where activities needed to be done. You could jump with it, but didn't know where to jump. So you did have to rely on the hint for guidance. For this reason, I dropped one star.
I still definitely recommend this game. I did really enjoy playing it. Give it a try.

I really enjoyed playing this game. The location could have been in the Louisiana Bayou. The graphics were very good and scenery was eerie. The game takes place at night which adds to the atmosphere.
I loved investigating a kidnapping of a young boy and being able to select the questions you wanted to ask the suspects. You gathered 3 clues before making your deduction on each suspect, ruling them out as you go.
There wasn't a lot of going back and forth, which I liked. I never felt at a loss as to where to go next. I didn't use the map or hint button very often (which is unusual for me). You basically went from one location to the next, investigating as you went.
I thought it was really a fun game, one I didn't want to stop playing and that doesn't happen very often.
Thank you Big Fish and Elephant for such a good game. Please give us another one like this.
I recommend this game!

"IF you wish you could live in the Elven kingdom and/or are a Lord of the Rings movie fan, (but don’t care much for the battling), then you will LOVE this. This is mainly an adventure type game. It does have some very straightforward puzzles, but only a few HOGS (I didn't count but it was something like 3 or 4).
SETTINGS, ART and GRAPHICS: Fantasy, forest, waterfalls, moonlit landscapes, abundant sparkling stars, and therefore lots of enchanted nightglow and shimmering going on. You follow pathways through crumbling ruins and beautiful landscapes. Talented artist(s) have created stunning settings with gorgeous perspectives.
STORY: Unfolds like a storybook. I found it thoroughly enjoyable up until the last 1/5 at which point it lost momentum and then I was ready for it be wrapped up. The characters in this game are dignified in both the manner in which they interact with you and also their manner of dress. Nothing inappropriate, gory or scary (not in the SE anyway). Anyone can play this game. What is an Emberwing? You’ll find out."

I agree completely, pretty much describes this game. I loved playing with all the different characters. The scenery was beautiful to look at, and the music went along well with the scenery.
I enjoyed the story and really got into what was happening. If you get stuck, you hit the hint button and it will show you where you need to go, plus take you there. Between the very useful map and hint button, I didn't feel completely lost at any time (which is a nice change).
I definitely recommend trying this game. It isn't the usual fairytale storyline and characters.
I recommend this game!

If you haven't at least tried this game, you should. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I liked that it had HOS that were like the games back when I first started playing HOGS. I enjoy the newer HOS with the multi-level play, but also still enjoy the old fashioned HOS as well.
After your into the game, you start collecting several objects in your inventory and visiting several locations. The map is a great help in showing you what areas still have objectives and HOS. The hint button will continue guiding you from one location to another until you reach the location where you need to be. It will then point you to the area of attention. So I never really felt lost and wondering what to do next (which I find isn't always the case).
So, if you haven't yet tried this game don't miss out on a game you also might really enjoy.
I recommend this game!

When I originally started playing this game I was enjoying the variety of HOS and puzzles. I enjoy a game where the devs change them out, allowing each HOG or puzzle to be different.
I liked that you transported in each location back and forth from present to past. They felt like different scenes so you didn't get bored with each group of locations. Each location consisted of 3-4 areas that you had to complete to obtain a special object, then you would move on to another location with new areas and people in trouble.
I enjoyed the music and felt it went well with the game.
However, after saying all this I have to admit I didn't complete the game. By the time I got halfway through the boat location I was ready for it to be over. I had gotten bored, ended up constantly checking the map to see where to go next, just didn't get the same feel I had when I started. I felt the puzzles were so simple that I was just going through the motion. The HOS seemed to have more challenge than the puzzles. That shouldn't be. I checked the walkthrough and saw there wasn't much left, so decided I wasn't enjoying it enough to finish. I often get bored before finishing a game, but usually will stick it out. But, with this one I didn't.
You might enjoy it, so definitely give it a try. I just found it "OK".

I agree with "tesamoine" and "SandraSwede". This is a fun little game to play.
If your looking for a hard and challenging game or an easy, hand holding game, then this is not it. However, if you are looking for a game that flows well without a lot of back and forth, mini-puzzles within HOS, good story, good atmosphere, easy to understand puzzles, but challenging to solve, and just plain fun to play then this is the game for you.
I enjoyed playing this game and did so without getting bored after an hr. This is the first game in a long time that I didn't want to stop playing.
Pros:
No real hand holding: If you got stuck you had to figure out what to do next. Not over-challenging, just plain common sense. You knew if you saw the key hole, you needed a key, screw needed your screwdriver, etc.
No Extreme back and forth: You would find an item and knew you had to go back a couple of scenes to use it, but nothing like so many other games like we've experienced from top developers lately.
Once you came across a tool, screwdriver, wrench, crowbar, etc. it would stay in your inventory until you no longer needed it. You didn't use it once, loose it, then have to fine another one. It was so nice knowing "oh, I need a crowbar, I've got that".
Puzzles easy to understand: many challenging to solve. It is up to you if you had the patience to solve them. Several I worked on, then skipped to get back to the game.
HOS: large items which sometimes makes it hard to spot. Blue items would require working a mini-puzzle or assembling before obtaining, again at times making you have to think.
HEAR YOUR OWN VOICE: how often does that happen? Shocked me when I heard. I thought it was cool, however, the voice was way to gruff to fit the person you represented.
Cons:
I came across a few glitches that I would have to work around. What at first I thought was a glitch was actually me needing to do one more thing before I could obtain the object (season the meat before giving to the tiger). They was no hint I needed to do that. However, toward the end of the game it allowed me twice to go to an area, obtain an object, but not get it in my inventory or credit for going there. As it turned out, the area wasn't unlocked yet. So, there were a few glitches you had to deal with.
All in all, I truly enjoyed playing this game. If I got lost (which was seldom) I could use the hint or map. It never left you hanging, not knowing where to go or what to do. Just use your common sense. I haven't had this much fun playing a game in a long time.
Thank you devs for a job well done. I look forward to your future games. I know you will only improve as you go. You are definitely on the right tract to what we need. And thank you BFG for offering it.
I recommend this game!

Haunted Manor: Lord of Rings was the first HOG game I ever played and I enjoyed it so much I was hooked and have been with BFG ever since. That was a couple 100 games ago. I enjoyed the second in the series even more. So, I was really eager to play this game.
First, let me say (IMO) the graphics are top notch and the story was really good. The locations felt spooky and I really enjoyed the first part of the game.
But, by the time I was half way in the game I was using the map and hint button constantly. I did nothing but go here for this and use it there. Now go here for that and use it there. The map would slightly enlarge the scene if you hovered over it, which luckily allowed you to go where the item needed to be used. If I forgot, or didn't know, where an item went or where to go next, then I hit the hint button until I at least got to the scene where I could investigate on my own.
This got really old after a while and I kept checking the walk-through to see how much more I had to play. I really wanted to see what happened to Stephan in the end, but finally gave up and didn't finish the game. I have so many games still unplayed, that I just couldn't continue with a game I wasn't enjoying just to see the end.
What a disappointment. I've only done that on 2-3 other games out of over 200.
Having a longer game isn't better if all you do is run around trying to get one item and then figure out where to use it.
Give it a try. You might enjoy it better than I did. Like I said, the graphics and story were really good. Just couldn't get past the constant map and hint use.
I don't recommend this game.

I had started loosing faith in Elephant games, but this is definitely a winner in my opinion. I just loved this game. I didn't want to stop playing and couldn't wait to start again.
The atmosphere and music were both eerie, which added to the suspense of the game. I just love "who donit" games and this is another great one.
The CE version gives you two endings to the game, but you have to play the bonus chapter after the first ending before you can open the second ending. Now I'm curious as to which ending the SE version will have. Not sure I'm crazy about the second ending, future Haunted Hotel games wouldn't be quite the same. I guess I'll just have to check out
the walk-through when it comes out.
If you like "who donit" games, give it a try. I think you'll be glad you did.
Nice work Elephant Games and BFG !!

I just finished playing this game and just loved it. This is my 3rd Myths of the World game I've played and I have just loved every one of them. Great job Eipix.
I loved the HO scenes. They were different. I especially enjoyed the riddles and connecting objects to the items you need to find. I actually got excited when I saw the sparkles for another HO scene. When can you last make that statement??
The graphics were clear and colorful. I enjoyed the story and trying to stop the head vampire. I had a complete surprise that I won't pass on (spoiler), didn't expect the game to take that direction.
The game tied up nicely at the end, so didn't miss a bonus game. Often I find all the frills of CE games distracting to my game play. So if I can be patient, I try to wait for the SE. I'm glad I did with this one. Much more enjoyable for me. :)
Try the game, you might just love it too. I rated it 6* out of 5*.
I recommend this game!

I only played 40 mins. of the demo and was enjoying it very much. I read that it is the last of the series and knew I wanted to get it.
There is no walkthrough, so I have no idea how long it will be or what some of the scenes look like. I always hestitate buying a game without a walkthrough, but in the 40 mins. I played I had no problems knowing where to go or what needed to be done.
I really enjoyed the 1st in the series "Weird Park: Broken Tune" and purchased the 2nd "Weird Park: Scary Tales", but have not yet played it. I plan to play the 2nd before this one.
If you liked the others, I believe you will also like this game. I definitely plan to complete the series and enjoy the all.
I recommend this game!
