I was really disappointed in this game. Being an Elephant game, and reviews saying it was dark and scary, I was really hoping for a good thriller to get me in the Halloween mood. I read so many high reviews that I bought it without playing the demo. That was my mistake.
I usually like a game that is more relaxed, a little easier on the puzzles, but still a good thrilling adventure. This game had some puzzles that worked themselves, that's how easy they were. And there really wasn't much adventure.
The game and stories could have had so much potential, but they just fell flat. I ended up getting so bored that I wasn't angry when the game was so short. I was glad to have it end.
I definitely don't recommend buying it as a CE, and not sure I recommend buying it at all. Maybe use a CC or buy as DD.
I don't recommend this game.

I seldom purchase CE games because I don't like being distracted from the story line by looking for this or that. That being said, I only found half or the kittens or papers. :( I demoed this game as a CE and just couldn't wait for the SE version. I love games with snow, and the leopards were beautiful. I loved just watching them walk or jump.
The graphics are top notch, but I do have to admit that the music got on my nerves about 2/3 rd the way through the game and I muted it. I've never done that before. It was just the same sound over and over, and just didn't settle well with me.
I thought the story line was good. I didn't have a hard time following it. There were a couple surprises thrown in that kept you on your toes. I would rather have that then a story with no surprises at all.
Another thing I did love about the game was the fact there was no running back and forth for one item. You mainly covered 3 - 4 areas at a time. The map was very helpful if you weren't sure at times what to do next. I hate those games that keep you running around to make the game longer, and then you loose interest in it completely.
When I do purchase a CE I usually don't play the bonus game. I get bored if the game is too long and by the time I finish the main game I'm ready for it to be over. However, with this game I didn't want it to end so I played and enjoyed the bonus game also. The main game concluded without the bonus, but the bonus game told the story of how the people became snow leopards to start with. It was a nice added plus.
Great job to the developer! Can't wait for the next game in the series.
I recommend this game!

I very much enjoyed playing this game. It's a great detective story where you meet and question all who were at the crime scene, gathering clues, and trying to solve the mystery. Was it suicide or murder?
You have a journal, consisting of one page for suspects (which helps to keep each person fresh in your mind so you remember who is who), and a second page for evidence clues you find.
You witness a shooting of your partner. Is he dead??
I really enjoyed the variety of HOGS and most of the puzzles. I've enjoyed this new twist Eipix has put in their games.
The basic SE game was well tied up in the ending and you were not cut short or left hanging. Another plus for me.
All in all, a most enjoyable game that I definitely recommend. Thank you BFG and EIPIX.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed this game so much, I didn't want it to end. I thought I was getting tired of fairies and such, but am so glad I gave this game a try.
The music was beautiful Irish music and each scene sounded different than the others. It was such a joy to listen to as I played.
The HOG scenes were a variety of activity that they didn't seem like HOG scenes at all. You actually looked forward to playing them. I loved solving the riddles to find items. Some of them were tricky and you really had to put your thinking cap on.
The puzzles were also fun and just challenging enough that I could work most of them, but did have to skip a few as usual.
I loved the characters. Voices were great and each one was unique.
The graphics were sharp and colorful. I will definitely play this game again many times. It's going at the top of my list.
Thank you Eipix and BFG for such a fun game. I look forward to the next Myths of the World with great anticipation.
I recommend this game!

I played the demo of the CE version and wasn't impressed. Just couldn't get into the game. Although it had great reviews, so I kept it on my "Try" list. I wasn't eager to try it again when the SE came out, but with the good sales lately I gave it another demo. I'M SO GLAD I DID !! This is a great, fun game. Actually the best I've played in a long time.
It felt like a different game than the CE. At first I kept telling myself "I don't remember this or that from the CE demo". The only conclusion I could come to, is the CE demo had "too" much going on to really get into the story. The SE had just enough to make it interesting, fun, and wanting more.
I loved the different types of HOS. Such a variety that I haven't found in any other game. Puzzles weren't too challenging, which I'm sure didn't please expert players, but was fun for me. Some of them didn't have instructions and you had to think on it a minute before realizing what needed to be done. The music played throughout the game and was enjoyable to listen to. Kept you in the New Orleans frame of mind. The map was good, it showed where activity was needed. If you hovered over an area it would show you a small picture of the area to refresh your memory, and allowed you to jump.
One of the best things I liked was the fact you weren't running around all over the place to get one item and back again. I hate those games that waste your time. This game kept your inventory short and it wasn't long before you had what you need to move on.
All in all, a most enjoyable game. If like me, you are on the fence about this one please give it a try. I truely believe you won't be disappointed. I'm now excited and waiting for the next game from Mad Head and hopefully it will be similiar.
Great job Devs and thank you.
I recommend this game!

Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors was the first HOS game I played on BFG and I was hooked. I enjoyed it so much that I've been a member ever since. When Haunted Manor: Queen of Death came out I loved it even more. I love spooky, haunted, old mansions/houses games. I played both of the these Haunted Manor games twice and loved every minute.
I was so excited today the see another Haunted Manor game and almost bought it without trial. It did have some negative reviews though, so decided to see for myself. I played just over 60 mins. of the demo and finally had to stop. I am so disappointed. It's bad enough that the map doesn't tell you where actions are needed, but when you end up totally relying on the hint button to tell you where to go next it's just too much aggrevation. I decided the last thing I want to do is purchase a game and spend 5-6 hrs. clicking the hint button to tell me where to go and what to do. I didn't even bother to try and find the morphing objects. Who wants to look for those when you are frustrated and trying to figure out what you need to do. The game had such potential.
I might try the SE when it comes out, but if it's the same for me then I won't be purchasing. As always, try it yourself. There are several who don't seem to have the struggle with it that I had. You might enjoy it also.
Happy Memorial Day to all !

I purchased this game a few months ago, but it went on my "purchased/unplayed games" list until now. I chose it over many others to play because it is by Elephant, which has been my favorite developer in the past. However, I have found this game to be a major disappointment.
I've noticed I've not been enjoying Elephant games for a while and have actually become reluctant to purchase them. Often I would quit in the middle, thinking it was my fault #I was too stressed over life events# to play it and would come back and play again later. Without going back and replaying the others, I can tell you what I do not like about this one.
I hate going from location to location just to get one item to complete a task or puzzle. To me the game did not flow, often was illogical #what worked in one location wouldn't work in another# and I found myself going to the map just to see what I needed to do next. I would jump to that location, get the item I needed, then jump back and actually enjoy doing the task. After that, it was go to the map to see what needs to be done next. Having to depend on the map to get through the game causes me to forget what the game is all about. It becomes more of a chore and less fun. I find I just want it to end.
I have checked the walkthrough on the SE and find I am FINALLY in the final chapter. Since I have lost interest in the game, I don't know if I will even bother to finish it. If a game is long, due to having to go back and forth to an area for one item, then it is a waste of time that I could be enjoying on another game. It doesn't make the game more fun, just more of a burden.
I purchased the daily deal yesterday that I missed last year when it came out #Dark Canvas: A Brush with Death by VAST# and it walked circles around this game. Sorry Elephant, but unless you stop the endless back and forth and keep the gamer in smaller areas at a time, I think you will continue to loose in the long run.
This game had great potential, which makes me sad. :(
It has been a while since the game came out, so people from Elephant probably won't be reading this. I guess I need to start only buying games when I can play them immediately if I want my reviews to really been heard.
I don't recommend this game.

I read this in someone's review and thought, I like HOS so I picked it up on DD. I really enjoyed the first chapter and thought it was spooky and fun. By the second half of the game it was a HOS at every turn. The HOS were the old kind that do it's best to hide most of the items and you have to use the hint just to see a couple of them. They were pretty dark and some of the items weren't even identifiable (IMO).
I love a good adventure with my games, but by the last half of the game I was so tired of having to play a HOS at every turn, that I didn't get to enjoy the adventure.
If you "LOVE" HOS, then you will definitely enjoy this game. I haven't played many of the old vampire games, and did enjoy the theme of this one.

I demoed this game last year and wasn't very impressed with it. I always read the reviews before trying a game and this one had good and bad reviews. I own and loved the first Phantasmat game, but some reviewers were complaining this game was made by ERS and not up to the standards of the first Phantasmat. So, I didn't buy it.
I saw it on the DD last week and decided to give it a try. I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT IT !! It is a really good game. I didn't want to stop playing and was disappointed when it was over. I think ERS did a great job and I enjoyed this one as much as the first one.
I'm a sucker for winter, snowy games. This one had beautiful scenery, good music, great voice overs, and game challenge was just right IMO. If you got stuck, clicking on help would tell you what you need to do next. It was spooky and made me want to continue playing just to see what was going to happen. I loved it. Definitely give it a try, you might love it too. :)
I recommend this game!

I've been getting tired of the selection of HOGS lately, but thought I would try this one. I'm so glad I did.
The story kept me interested to see what would happen next, right up to the end. I usually get bored and can't wait for the game to be over.
I really enjoyed the option of playing the HO scenes, or switching to Majong. Nice touch. The scenes were so colorful and the music was so pretty. I would play the HO scene, then if it got to hard to find the objects I would switch to Majong and finish the scene. Kept me from getting stressed over objects I couldn't find and having to use the hint button.
The only negative comment I have is the fact that the last half of the game I had to rely solely on the jump map to know where to go next. There were too many scenes and all of them stayed open during the game and you would need to return to different scenes for one item here and there. I like games that have you working a few scenes at a time, then close them off so you know there is nothing further to do there. This game had you jumping around all over the ship for one item here, and there. Yet, makes you want to continue to see what happens.
All in all, a fun game if you don't mind using the map to see where to go next. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
I recommend this game!
