I didn't thing I would like it but I used a free coupon from buying CEs to find out for free. I Loved it. I first saw the Toucan bird and marveled at the colors. It a very colorful and beautiful game more so later on. I like the travel and adventure and learning from the fact cards. It's warm and summer, just what I want since we have so much snow. The adventure got better and better. I now want to buy the CE for the extras.
Just note. I buy for the Hops which they had twelve. I tried and like and finished most puzzles and I can't do hard ones. Don't know if you set it on a more difficult setting if it would work for puzzle masters. I just know I enjoyed them, but would have liked more Hops and less puzzles. But was happy I could do them.
I Loved the storyline. If you click too much in the hops a round stone sphere will come at you and shatter your screen. So funny. I played with the juke box and it will play all four songs. Got a big kick out of the parrot.
Enjoyed the bonus. The snowman also dances at the end of the bonus, so twice the snowman fun. The main game started out good but slowed down. Mainly excited for the morphs.
I collected every thing. You have to finish the bonus because there are collectibles there too. 26 morphing snowmen and cats. ( the cats are in the bonus chapter) 14 wedding guests that morph also. 48 puzzle pieces that makes 4 screensavers after you put them together.
The 4th music track is the carol " The first Noel". Santa and Mrs. Claus are in Chapter 3. You can play and interact with things in this game.
I Loved the planetary symbol puzzle, the trains, the music notes and in the bonus the masks. Their were too many fool with it puzzles for me to give this game five stars. The fox with the doors puzzle was not easy. The bells were a pain. You just feel like a fool to mess with that sort of puzzle. Hence, fool with it puzzles. Not easy puzzles. Pain in the neck puzzles. Frustrating puzzles. Good thing I don't buy my games from the puzzle section. Not all the puzzles are easy!
Not enough Hidden Objects. They should replace the fool with it puzzles with Hops. I buy games from the Hidden Objects section.
I own all six of the Christmas Stories in CE. I Loved the throw backs to the other games, like the Puss in Boots doll, the card from the Nutcracker and more.
16 Concept art, 14 Wallpapers, 4 Screensavers, 5 Music tracks and Achievements. Replayable-13 Hops and 12 Mini-games. 3 Chapters + Bonus Chapter.
I had some free SV coupons from buying CEs so I picked this up. I wanted to find out what happen after the trial when the gas got my co-worker. I was so surprised how much I liked this game. Loved traveling, the info, the 20 fact cards, the characters, the adventure and the storyline.
Enjoyed the 14 hops. Liked the puzzle where you had to swing a item along the puzzle. The puzzles got harder for me as I got closer to the end. Didn't like some explaining a, b, c, either.
I always wanted to access CE perks when I was playing. Wanted to know what chapter I'm on. How many chapters there are. Look at the guide to see what they wanted me to do with the puzzles. Collect things. I did alright with out them but still wanted them. I would have tried more puzzles with the guide but I skipped a lot of them. I figured it's free so see if you like it, you won't be out anything. I could always buy the CE later if I liked it.
I went to the CE reviews to see if someone had the info I wanted to know like the replay numbers and if they liked the bonus and was happy to find out.
Still the SV isn't as bad as I thought. Great Game.
I like the collectibles and morphs but I wanted more. For my tickle award I have the grappling chicken and the piggy bank crusher. My detail award goes to the corner piano. My worst detail award goes to the double decker trailer.
The lock door master puzzle with the phone and coin insert where you quickly have to find symbols reminded me of a few puzzles from return to Ravenhearst. It's a fun puzzle. Also the master puzzle in Chapter 5 is fun. I liked this story but I hope they bring back the storyline with Dalimar and family.
I wasn't crazy about the guitar hops, too cluttered. My favorite hops were the pumpkin patch from Chapter 4 and at the toy factory in chapter 5, the demented toys and the chalkboard.
6 Chapters + Bonus. In Arts- 4 artwork, 9 movies, 8 wallpapers and case report which is a journal. Replayable- 14 hops and 14 mini-games. Achievements.
I want to recommend this game but I had some glitches.
This game has a lot of Hops. Twenty four by my count. I enjoyed it because of the Christmas theme. The hops have larger picture and larger words so it's easier on the eyes. It's pretty and sweet.
My detail awards goes to the crocheted Santa doily and the Christmas cactus.
It does have some typos. Dool for doll, plummet is a weight and Secateur are hedge clippers.
The game is from 2013 so the graphic are analog and not HD.
If you love a challenge don't bother with this one. If you like it relaxed and aren't a stickler for realism you may like this game.
This is the fifth game I own this year from this maker. I've played all but one. I've found them super fun. I didn't have any tech problems what so ever. Win10PC.
The extras are great you start out with 2 morphs and a collectible domino per scene. Then later only one morph per scene and collectible and you think oh the trial is done. Then your back to two morphs per scene. No morphs in the bonus chapter but you have the collectible stay on. Replay 20 Hops and 16 mini-games. I collected all my Dominoes and Morphs. I have a Extra Hops and play dominoes with Snitch. 43 Movies. 14 concept art, 7 wallpapers, 4 screensavers and 4 music.
I think the Hops are just perfect. No puzzles in disguise. No junk piles. Just the Fun kind. Lists that have beautiful illustrations. We have 24. Eighteen in the main game and six in the bonus chapter. My favorite in the main game was in the fourth chapter and it was a pocket watch that had rings that you turn to make pictures connect. My favorite from the bonus chapter is a Christmas themed child's room. They have one hop in the main game that has a bell with the Zodiac symbol and image. I don't know everyone of the Zodiacs but the symbol has a text that said what sign it is so it's easier to guess.
I think telling more to the story beyond what big fish has written, spoils my experience. If I read a book I don't want to hear whats ahead, I want to find out for myself unless I won't read the book then I don't care. I think the same is for games.
I hope they keep this series. I have all nine in the series in CE and I played all but two. Some I like better than others. My favorites are Thin Ice and Moulin Rouge Edition of Crimson Cabaret. This one is OK/Good. We are in Brussels. The game play is smooth and I mostly knew what to do. I like the beautiful décor in the dressing room.
I liked some of the puzzles-maze and others. I thought they got harder in the bonus chapter. In the bonus chapter they had a boat puzzle I couldn't figure out so I wrote down the answer from the guide and did it and it looks fun. I like the new Eipix indicator for the music note collectible because the icon is faint until you find it. That is better than just the count they had.
16 hops in the main game and 4 in the bonus. They were ok. Most of the time you had to find 6 items, then 6 pictures to find. The item number seems too small. I liked that it had some to pair, but again the number of items way too small. One in the bonus game had find 6 items, then 6 more and 6 more, eighteen. But I don't like how they broke it up.
The full CE data was 542.1 mbs. That is way too small. There are some SVs that have more data, like Equilibrium. I think Equilibrium SV has 1G. A good data number in my opinion is 900 mbs to 1.4 Gs. There are No morphs in this game. I think morphs add a lot more data. Still it's small considering some trials are say 450 mbs.
5 Chapters + Bonus. Collect 30 music notes. 8 pictures, 7 Video, Achievements, Souvenir room with 30 items. Replay 18 Hops and 21 Mini-games. No morphs.
Really 2 and a half stars. I buy almost all the new games in the hidden object category. Except if I really dislike them or I don't recognize the series, some I don't even trial. It works out most of the time because I mostly love or like them all. I still have plenty I own and haven't played yet. I decided this week to play the Saga series starting with the first one but I owned both. This time it didn't work for me. I'm sure the master puzzlers are happy.
I can't have fun if I'm constantly using the hint. I really dislike it. I love the storylines but not the game play. I hate the game play, the puzzles and the hops. If I played the first in the series, I would not have bought this one. It's unusual for me to dislike the hops unless they are puzzles in disguise. These hops aren't lovely.
I liked that they carried over the characters from the first game, your already familiar with them. I like that Eipix improved the indicator for the collectibles. ( the icon is faint when not collected and normal when you do) I didn't mind having leaves, fire crystals, tiles and acorns to collect. The bonus chapter is about helping Freya. It doesn't make scents to help a goddess but it was OK.
But that hint, hint, hint was so not fun. A real chore.
My title tells a lot about this game. You gotta love the Dragons. More about Dragons in the bonus chapter. I found the game to have some mechanically incline places, if that interests you.
Has a unique circular journal. 8 Chapters + Bonus. Morphs in the Hops. I counted 12 hops in the main game and 2 in the bonus. My favorite hop was a cube with 3 drawers and the lantern. The bonus chapter is short.
I did like that in the fighting scenes that you use a shield to block in one place and a maze that took the place of a fight in another. The main fight you use a card game that I wasn't sure what I was doing but kept it up until it finished.
The puzzles I liked were the maze and playing the wind chimes.
I enjoyed collecting the puzzles pieces and you can go back if you missed one or two. In the Bonus section your puzzle pieces turn into a treasure hunt then into the Ultimate hops, then into the ultimate puzzle, then into a wallpaper. Great.
I liked the storyline and the characters. The music was good and had several tracks. I have all four of this series in Collector's Editions. My favorites are this one and Princess of Ice.
Replayable 13 Hops, 9 music tracks, 11 wallpapers amd 10 concept art. Treasure Hunt, Ultimate Hops and Puzzle.
Wow, what a great older game. I think it began in Feb 2012. So it's almost 6 years old. We have come along way since then but I don't think all the extras were standard at that time. It started out old looking but got better and better as I progressed. The changing rooms really Wowed me. Changing from Turtle room to Rat room to Monkey room to Eagle room. It felt Futurist.
The Hops look analog and not HD but they are still Beauties. I especially like the hops with the jewelry, kitchen treats, Christmas scene, garden, dinosaur skull and frig. I counted 16 hops in the main game and 3 in the bonus. You have to use a few things from your inventory to complete them. I had to leave and come back to the hops several times and had more than one started at a time. None are replayable.
No Map. Hints will not lead you. I didn't have a problem getting around. But I started playing games before this came out so I don't mind it in old games. It's not the norm now so I don't like it in new games.
The puzzles I liked are Labyrinth, target, headless statues, canon. The maze and canon and one other are replayable. I also picked up 3 additional puzzle from collecting the flowers. There are 60 flowers to collect and you have the additional puzzles at 10, 25 and 50 flower marks.
4 long Chapters + Bonus. I wouldn't play this game without the guide. It took me awhile to complete this game. I found it pretty fun. Had no problems what so ever with this game on my Windows 10 PC. Has 8 Concept art, 10 Wallpapers, a screensaver and 4 music tracks that can be saved.
