Where do I start? Ok... the beginning!?
From the very beginning, I was struck that this game was a cartoonish nightmare with nowhere to go and it didn't seem to improve as I continued to play the demo.
The voice acting not only didn't have characters to go along with same so as to involve the player in the game immediately, what voice there was, was very amateur and awkward (not believable)!
The mini games were poor and disjointed and unrelated to gameplay entirely. The H0G, average, everyday, nothing out of the ordinary.
I felt as though I were being instructed the entire Demo time despite the fact that I had turned off the cue bar in the Menu controls and worked in most difficult settings.
To me, this game is just a mangled mess... not fun and almost painful to play.
So, NOT for me.... and to think I almost purchased w/o demoing... PLEASE TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!

I had SO many games backlogged in my Game Manager, I hadn't downloaded the CE of Haunted Train Spirits of Charon when it was released.
This morning I noticed the SE and, WOW!! I am so glad this was offered so quickly as a SE... despite all the games I need to play, this one is getting priority after playing the demo.
Many details of the game are covered in numerous reviews here or on the CE reviews page, so I will give a summation of what I found in today's offer of the SE:
Firstly, I used headphones and the character's voices were fantastic. The quality of sound in general is great and the background music is pleasant and appropriate to the settings.
There are numerous cleverly designed, intricate and interactive H0S and puzzles [on the simple side, yet very appealing and pleasing to play] and very well connected to gameplay as the story unfolds.
The graphics are extremely well designed and appealing, very artistic and original... I would rate the graphics as 10+... just gorgeous [though some scenes per the Demo were a bit sparse, such as entering the first character's home, yet I actually appreciated that aspect due to many games now are clutter city].
Overall, the storyline was different and interesting... a spooky themed adventure requiring the player to 'solve' 6 mysterious deaths in order to move forward and 'capture' the culprits responsible for untimely deaths. There is also a supernatural aspect to this and definitely, you have to put on your fantasy 'hat' to be immersed in participating in the gameplay. The storyline, to me, was not the strength in the game... the interactive and well convoluted mini-games/puzzles/HoG's were; alonge, again, with the gorgeous graphics! They were absolutely top notch quality to the point were one wants to step into the monitor and enjoy the environment [same with the sound].
Give this a whirl and have fun... I'm torn between purchasing SE and CE now since I was greatly impressed with this well designed game!
Thanks BFG & devs!
Lol end note: As a final comment... I had to chuckle when I would have sworn I noticed Einstein's ghost traveling along in the windows of the train in the beginning segments of the game!

There is something for everyone to love in this new release and I'm glad I downloaded it and gave it a try [given that I am not otherwise a fan of vampire-ish themes]. I enjoyed every minute of playing thus far and this is a love story that will appeal to anyone that has ever been 'there' [or at least wished they had been... albeit not necessarily in the same scenario, lol!].
Anyhoo, the puzzles in Dark Romance: Vampire in Love are multiple and unique and there lots of extras, as you can read in other's more detailed reviews.
So, if you like mysteries, vampires, romance, enjoy puzzles, lots to do and appreciate great graphics... at the very least, check this game out.
Oh, and there are additional unique features offered that may typically be found in the free to play games whereas one purchases items to personalize the inventory/tool bar and also refurbish the castle.... I loved that feature #yet would not if ftp#. In this case, using bats, garlic cloves, etc.
All in all, a well done CE packed with tons of things to do and places to go with an interesting storyline #as 2 separate characters no less!#, items to collect and very nice environments [considering it is a Vampire storyline].
Check it out, have fun and thank you, BFG & Devs for creating a fun and different game for us all in the pond just in time for Valentine's Day.

I begrudgingly downloaded this and was ultimately very glad I did....
I thought the cut scenes were some of the best I've seen and the sound and graphics in this game are EXCELLENT!!
There is, indeed, a great deal of creativity woven through this game and my only regret is that it does have somewhat iffy content (based on my own personal comfort); yet the developers obviously did try to target multiple gamer 'likes' in this game and give them kudos for that.
ie. I wasn't thrilled with a blazingly green eyed demon [aka "imp"] as my side kick, yet perhaps things evolve as the story continues and, again... the developers did an amazing job with graphics. Very realistic content, yet not so much as to be off-putting... you knew you were in a game and yet it was immersive enough to draw you in and want you to keep playing. The voices are SUPERBLY done IMHO and the sound is expertly keyed with gameplay!
Definitely give the Demo trial a complete run... I do believe this game is under rated thus far and I will, personally, be torn whether or not to do SE or CE.... have fun!!

Excellent adventure driven game with quality, well-polished graphics, very nice sound and music, characters are appealing and realistic (albeit sci fi/psychological thriller-ish) and the creepy factor is there where it applies so enhancing the atmosphere and environment which makes it immersive and fun.
So, overall a creepy and somewhat emotionally touching game (mother/child) and the storyline pulls you right in.
Definite buy... check this one out if you like something a little different and engrossing as well as a bit whimsically chilling.

The precept of this game [intentional misspell in title] is similar to many of the TM builder games in a sense, yet you eventually [yes everyone will, eventually!!!] have to pay a lot more than the usual game price for playing.
I enjoyed building my little game world until I was continually flagged to purchase more and more.... sorry, I like to know how much a game costs up front.
Please realize this aspect if you play or review this game... it is NOT free by any stretch of the imagination [in the long run]. I also didn't like playing the eternal haunted house theme throughout the seasons; it got very 'old' very fast in that regard also.
Definitely not the type of game for me [nor are any of the PFF games]; sorry BFG!

I had to laugh about some comments made in the lowest ratings of this game... it truly is NOT a "dark" game, nor is it gloomy [it actually has some very light humorous touches despite being a SciFi theme], and it has a very good storyline. It actually has a beginning, middle and end [opposed to some games, lol].
Granted, the graphics are sketchy and cartoonish and the puzzles are not extremely complex; however, they are >different<, >interesting< AND the game in it's entirety is excellent!!
So, I am very glad I purchased this game, wish there were more like it and it is nice to see many positive reviews such as mine; it's refreshing to know there are other gamers that have the insight to see a good game; one that doesn't need to jump up and down with bells and whistles and practically have to play itself in order to be amusing.
Well, not for everyone, but definitely don't miss "Plagiarii" if you enjoy quirky, outside of the box and fun diversion games that are also immersive.

I enjoy all genres of games, including 'creepy'; this game crosses the line and is just plain demonic and evil themed and I am writing this because I appreciate it when other fishies [players] let me know of game content of this nature. Theatre of the Absurd has more occult in it than any game I can remember, and I've been playing games since DOS. The thing I disliked the most about this game is that in order to play, the player must participate in the occult themed play; what's more, a child in immortal danger was chosen as the main theme and just puts the proverbial nail in my decision making [box]... >no buy, delete<. Nope, I don't want this game on my computer.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed the original but this one is more of a nightmare. I don't enjoy the fact that I need to pay more money as I go along in the game. To me, that is not "free". The many instructions were confusing, even though I'm an experienced gamer, it just didn't work for me... it was like the game had all the control and it just didn't flow along as I'd like. This is my second review, the first one they didn't accept probably due to focusing on the pay aspect to intensely. :\
So, bottom line, I'll stick to the original version, that kept me enjoying more pleasant dreamin. : )

Mythic Wonders: The Philosophers Stone was one of a very few games I've played that I became SO bored that the free Demo wasn't even appealing enough to finish completely, and I do believe I continued on long enough to give it more than a fair chance.
On the 'plus' side, there is some good female voice acting (at least appropriate to the storyline and game overall, relatively speaking), some scenes contained nice visual affects and the cut scenes were okay, yet the game in it's entirety did not hold together at all.
The scenes were a cluttered mess, there was waaaay too much handholding and the storyline was incredulous, forced, and so, WAY over done. The 'bad guy' character voice and as illustrated was cheesy and silly and, has been done time and again; therefore, there was no real suspense, I just thought it was like a bad cartoon on a Saturday morning.
This is a good game for the tweens or beginners... I just could not get into it at all... pass!
