Another promising game as far as initial cut scenes and graphics are concerned [they were rather lovely] as well as the potential based on the general outline of the story; unfortunately, it just doesn't pan out or hold together.
The gameplay is quite ordinary and also very rigid; by that I mean it was very restricted and introduces uninspiring characters that are as stiff [quite literally due to the plot and figuratively speaking].... They were as unmoving, non expressionative and robotic as the ice dog... it's very difficult to warm up to that [pun intended]. In addition, something was just lacking that I couldn't put my finger on overall and there was really nothing much that pulled me into the game, unfortunately.
Even on the difficult setting, there was just too much handholding... having several items on hand that could have been used for multiple tasks yet being restricted from using them despite it being a next logical step is just annoying to me as well as unimaginative and disrupts the flow of the game.
The music was blah and rather depressing, which was inappropriate to the lovely setting [despite it being a darker theme]. It would have had a better impact and would have been chilling to actually have nicer music with the nice staging [environmental setting] while strange occurrences that were introduced as the main theme of the game unfolded [and then added dramatic sound for impact].
So even as a SE, I will probably pass on this one unless I become desperate [or apathetic] in the near future and will then use a coupon code.
Give the demo a try... it's not awful, it's just very ordinary, run of the mill...and not that good IMO.

This is a 'casual' adventure game with a mix of so many and various opportunities for we game lovers to dabble in adventure, puzzle, hybrid role play... plus more and ultimately to just get totally immersed in an exciting and mysterious tale in the process.
The graphics are wonderfully well rounded, cut scenes are fabulous, sound and music great... I thoroughly enjoyed the demo and will definitely purchase. At a SE price, it is a real steal!
IF you are not familiar with adventure gameplay, remember to take your time and 'look' around as much as you can for 'clues' in each scene. Ultimately, you should find that will be part of the fun... figuring out what can work with various items and how to move forward in your quest.
Give it a try... adventure gaming is SO much fun and very rewarding; in addition, this game offers more to appeal to just about everyone that loves to play casual games.

There are already so many reviews giving the technical specifics the CE offers that I'm going to jump in and simply give an overview of my experience and opinion.
And that is... WOW... this is one spectacular game.... it's the game that keeps on giving and for a change, I am glad about that!
Often times I don't complete a game simply because it either peters out midway on it's own, or I do [I often wind up getting bored toward the end of many games]... yet this was not the 'case' with the newest sequel to the Agency games, "The Agency of Anomalies, Mind Invasion"! [Pun intended, haha] :}
This game is definitely an eccentric one in every aspect [graphics, content, puzzles] and quite honestly, I didn't warm up to it immediately. Yet, I am almost finished with it now and I have to say I will be a bit disappointed when it ends. Most everything about this game was strangely unique and appealing as well as being challenging, offering puzzles that truly were both fun as well as interesting and thought provoking.
I suggest you definitely give this game a real chance... it may not grab you immediately as was the case with me [though I previously had played and enjoyed it's predecessors of the series], and happily, in the long run, it proved to be an especially nice treat that just kept on going and giving, too.

Developers, please do your homework, and if it was intentional, suffice it to say, I definitely would give it negative 5 stars if I could since using such a mix of themes as you did.
Regardless of the theme mix, this was just a truly DUMB game overall. As a quick example, at one rather intense point in the script, the main character states, "I'll never do internet dating again"; this comment was right in the midst of "saving" three women's mortal souls from eternal doom, lol.
The graphics were nice, the music nice, the puzzles different and nice... the themes would have been fine... yet 'combined' in one mix? Like OIL & WATER to say the least... there IS no mixing, so why combine the two?

Dream Hills: Captured Magic is a charming new addition [albeit a 'soft release' and very family friendly]. I even plan to buy with a coupon code and play it myself on a lackluster day when I need a little peaceful reprieve from demanding graphics and gameplay.
Speaking of graphics, they are well-rounded and vivid sketchy scenes... easy on the eyes [as a fairy tale game should be]. The H0G's [at least in the demo] were a little too well blended for my liking, yet since this is probably geared toward a younger crowd, that shouldn't be a problem [or one can simply adjust resolution on pc].
The environmental background sound is pleasant and cheerful....
I found playing this game a welcome hiatus from the ombre moods so prevalent in many games offered these days... it's like like a breath of fresh air [and many of us need that sometime or another no matter our age!?].
Though I enjoy all themes of gaming, it would be nice to see more of these lighter, cheery games offered us, perhaps with just a dash more adult appeal.

I haven't quite finished the DEMO yet am definitely purchasing and had to jump over here to give a 2 thumbs up!
This is an EXCELLENT game and it grabbed me right away and hasn't let me go since [except to buy it. of course].
Everything about it thus far is fantastic... it is unique, the graphics are wonderful, the games different, sound great and overall, it is just such a welcomed change of pace, adventure-heavy game with a real storyline [albeit sci-fi, lol]!
Oh... btw, did I recognize a particular voice when the main character visits her psychologist's office? Sounds like a certain well-known female detective's voice [think ND/'dare to play']. Looks as though she may have changed careers, lol.
So... don't let this one pass you by... and PLEASE, BFG, give us more of these!!?? : )

Based on playing the DEMO:
I've enjoyed almost ALL of the Redemption games with the exclusion of this one, and, unfortunately, I couldn't help but feel a bad taste in my mouth after playing this game [demo]. Perhaps I was 'tasting' wherever the Devs motivation was coming from[?].
I echoe the sentiments of another reviewer regarding the fine line of politically correct and otherwise. In addition, this is just a ridiculously mixed up storyline in general that is unintuitive and quite 'forced' as far as the gameplay and that includes the voiceover.
The music appeared to be a repeat of most of their games.
Bottom line, I did not like this game with the exception that l appreciated some of the graphics; although they would be better offered in two separate and different themed game.... as it stands it is a very bad mix. This game is just waaay psychotic; it starts off with Christmas Eve and quickly becomes quite discombobulated!
Oh, and, ekk.... poor snowman; he should have waited for Halloween!

I am bottom lining this review.... it is awful! Just awful! The graphics are faded and the SFX voice overs echo; gameplay is jolted... nope, not even worth a CC, sorry.

I enjoyed the cut scenes, the graphics were pretty good but not great nor consistent at all. The music was nice in the very beginning. The puzzles were inconsistent and either very average a few were cute and unique actually. So, when I had a spare credit hanging around I purchased it; I decided I would accept the game as a childish themed, mixed up Dickens type of game and purchased it as a SE and was ok with it despite my original review of the CE until I got to the point where things were just getting way too off the wall, not even a storyline and so much spoon feeding I was choking!
WHY an oceanographic themed game in the nave along with an obvious mast head of a SHIP, along with Santa Claus holding his own birthday cake; I mean, even in a remotely nightmarish game, what would include those things and more pointedly, what would they be doing in the church along with a boar's head and a smithy (in the "belfry")... ??~! How about a town hall or a blacksmith shop?! Again, it appears to be laziness or ? on the Developer's part.
Truly... I do understand the reviews of the game if one played to a certain point... beyond that?? Oh my gosh... this is one messed up "Christmas" story. It is totally ridiculous and incredulously out of line with anything "Christmas" themed.. really and truly!? Other than the snow and decorations and a few cut scenes, this was an awful Christmas story and not enough challenge or substance to pan out as a true game... I don't care WHAT the other reviews are giving it, I gave it two chances and I say thumbs waaaaay down.

I had to purchase this game after trialing it... the graphics are extremely appealing IMHO [very, very nice], sound good, puzzles average but good, and the adventure aspect, GREAT. I always play on the most difficult setting unless I'm Demoing and want to skip some of the HOG's more quickly to cover ground and make a decision. My decision on this is a definite BUY.
Give the demo a whirl... it will tell you whether this is a game for you or not.... for me DEFINITELY; I love adventure and this one plays with more of an intuitive interface.
The story is interesting and different. A welcomed change of pace for sure.
