I enjoyed the three games in this episode. They were on the very easy side of the spectrum and rather short, yet were all clean, healthy fun (as far as mystery murders go, that is).
Would like to see more of this type of game on BFG versus the dreary, macabre 'entity' stuff that is usually offered.
This was a breath of fresh air with a bit of sleuthing intrique and a just lot of fun to play.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.

Enjoyed every minute playing this adventure/H0G/mystery.
It didn't go overboard with occult and yet maintained a definite creep factor and a sublte, tongue in cheek humor throughout.
After the last MCF, I thought I would never enjoy another of the MCF games; yet this episode has restored my belief that they can produce fun, challenge and originality without forcing overt offensive depictions or interactions.
A definite worthwhile game to add to my collection and one that I couldn't stop playing until I finished (for a change).

NO, please tell me there is not truly a game out about zombies, a nasty gnome, a monkey, and undertaker and his 'poor' wife for whom we are to feel compassion for.
What is wrong with this picture?! EVERYTHING>!!
ACK..... please, please, please don't let this be a trend.... stop it NOW. Kill it in it's tracks! End the madness!!
Haha.... it was THAT bad #to me#... YES, THAT BAD.
[Sigh].... I will hold to the hope that something will emerge to turn the tide of these gad awful storylines. At least try for a little realism so one can relate and get emerged in storyline and not just graphics and minigames and picking up pieces to 'fit' random prefab puzzles.
I couldn't last through the demo... it was just plain AWFUL.

Thank you thank you thank you BFG and DEV for shaking up the old and refreshing the hope there are still options in the casual gaming world for those who don't need hand-holding nor blasts of overly macabre to enjoy a good, frightful mystery.
After sooooo many cookie-cutter games, here is a great mystery that will wake you from the abyss of game boredom to some good eerie fun...yay, it's nice to be able to enjoy conscientious game consciousness! :}

Now on top of my list of favorite games.
Everything about it was top notch and as in the game of poker, a winning hand ... in this case, shall we say, winning formula/ GREAT GAME in every possible way.
Kudos to dev & BFG for going above and beyond with this one.... bring more on like this and we'll all enjoy win-win!

I had to force myself to stop playing the game (I bought this, SE version) just long enough to RAVE how GREAT this is.
It will now be on the TOP of my FAVORITES OF ALL TIMES list... a winner in EVERY respect. It just continues to get better and better versus the usual trend to diminish or get redundant after Demo [thus I typically can't even finish many games; I get bored ~ NOT with this one]. Yay~!! No offensive creep or evil [occult] .. yet it maintains very suspenseful and scary with a twist of humor thrown in.... a GREAT MIX!
SUPER HUGE KUDOS TO TALENTED DEV AND BFG ON THIS ONE!
I hope there will be more from Elephant games with the same qualities as this game; well, that's all.... now back to the game :}

Keeping it simple since most has been covered and said by other reviewers already:
So, based on the demo....
Mystery of the Ancients: Curse of the Black Water is a definite buy; there is a scary factor without overt occult (which I try to avoid for personal reasons); the challenge is consistent and different enough to be truly interesting and engaging as far as the storyline; graphics and SFX, music, excellent. (Speaking of music, did I hear some X 'folder' (intentional misprint) music in there, haha)? A lot of imagination went into creating this game.

Basically more of a psychological thriller, taken down a notch in intensity (in a good way) I'd say.
I enjoyed this and found it to be an interesting change of pace from the regular cookie-cutter format in which most games seem to offer; enough so that it took me out of my game coma (a lag due to being bored with the same styles and themes and over the top 'in your face' game features of which I am totally overly saturated with).
Simply put: Within the game, Mysteries of the Mind: Coma, and though I'm not a huge HoG fan, there was enough adventure and imaginative newness in the mix to be a good draw and is a definite addition to my wish list strictly based on and because I enjoyed the demo quite a bit.
Overall, a 'different', change of pace and style which I appreciate and will look forward to playing.
