Though the premise of being enveloped into a storybook is potential for adventure, I'm afraid Forgotten Books: The Enchanted Crown just doesn't offer more than an 'index' or perhaps a book with mixed up pages slapped together in a binding. Basically, I didn't find much in the way of a true 'story' that wasn't broken to bits with easy and unrelated mini-games and puzzles.
The graphics were also a mish-mash in that respect; as an example, we have the polished/rounded animated Alice In Wonderland-ish washed out [in color] rabbit intermittently popping in and incoherent with the overly garish, over the top ugly-evil entity/adventure at hand theme... they just do not complement each other in the game at all and make playing non immersive IMHO. [I do get that it is ERS; ie. rabbit, yet why throw an industry/company identifier so blatantly and repeatedly into the gameplay, err].
Plot overall, is... here we go again with what is, bottom-line, yet another similar scenario, 'save the world through magic, blah blah bla...'; frankly speaking, I am just plain tired of these themes and am 'hungry' for a story-driven, immersive game with true character, one that is engrossing and not superficial and picture/graphic-driven.
So, the graphics were in the realm of ok-ish to good; a mixed bag [slightly distorted sketchy, yet colorful scenes that were a bit lacking in polish and 'omph' mixed with nice action ut scenes illustrating pencil art], and nothing outstanding to my eye. IF the graphics had been combined with an exciting plot, "Forgotten Books The Enchanted Crown" perhaps both would have complemented the other and resulted in a more impressive, if not outstanding game; yet, as it is presented, it just didn't have much original substance to engage me and, therefore, to 'pull' me into the game.
'Sound' [SFX/music] was average/nice and some of the voice just borderline ok with much of the initial voice acting seemingly geared toward a younger audience in terms of how it was narrated [very haltingly spoken], yet the theme I would say 'not'!
Needless to say, I wasn't much taken with this game overall and although there were some nice features, I wasn't impressed enough for a purchase... of course I encourage you to give it a whirl; as for me, I will put it on my 'maybe check it out again later for when I'm desperate' list.

Yay! Witch's Pranks: Frogs Fortune is certainly a pleasant, creative and uniquely designed game that is bound to please young & old, beginner & expert alike, bring a smile to the lips and a chuckle in the throat!
The graphics are wonderfully animated and game play is filled with subtle, interactive humor in both storyline, puzzles & graphics.. the entire script is amazingly original.
Nope, Witch's Pranks: Frogs Fortune is definitely not run of the mill and I hope is the beginning of more to come. A very talented team worked very hard to put this one together as is evident in large and small scale details.
I had to stop playing to give this game 5 STARS and I can't wait to finish my little adventure rescuing the witch's charming, err... charmed captives.

I am disappointed with many of my fellow reviewers with their harsh and critical low-balling on this one. Yes it could be deemed a bit 'cheesy' in theme, yet it is supposed to be! AND in keeping with many Hollywood classics [seriously!? they are typically not 'deep' in plotline, either!]* and SURFACE: REEL LIFE holds it's own in both theme and gameplay... eccentric, off-beat and imaginative gaming!
*[I am a true classic movie buff.. from silent film to 30's/40's... absolutely the BEST]

So, I am absolutely enjoying this VERY well designed game that offers great graphics and adventure HOG at it's best.... who can resist that silly monkey's face while he is eating the banana!@! SO adorable [and I am not usually 'taken' with cute/adorable, haha].
Give it a whirl and try to ignore the reviews of the CE... rate it on your level of gaming satisfaction... if you like adventuring... and light gaming with lots of imaginative exploring, you'll like SURFACE: REEL LIFE; it's not real [reel] life, but it's lots of reel [real] ENJOYMENT! : )

A town is enveloped in an epidemic of sorts created by the onslaught of the insidious plague of.... THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS! It's up to you as detective and problem solver to undermine the efforts of this dreadful plot and set the town back to it's glorious and harmonious state.
Well, I am only now delving into the midst of the overtly dreadful plot in order to help solve the dilemma for the townsfolk in this interesting and absorbing adventure H0G.
I had not even trialed the game due to having overly relied on some criticism I read about the game [criticism I now do not agree with] and to think that it came from some of my normally reliable reviewers. What a shame! But all is not lost... I have now purchased the game and well past the 3/4's mark and had to stop to give a quick review to encourage others to give it a fair trial!
IMHO Riddles of Fate Into Oblivion is fantastic! I There is a great level of detail the designers put into the game from graphics to puzzles, sound.... the whole package is very well synchronized and incredibly fun and exciting to play.
I encourage anyone who enjoys adventure gaming and clearly well thought out H0G's and interesting, clever and well integrated puzzles that are appropriate to the scenes and plot of the storyline and game content to definitely check this out... if you are like me you will buy after completing the demo.
It took me a few scenes to actually get the flow and my appreciation for the quality of this game has continued to grow as I venture on.... thank you SO much developers for your conscientious effort and hard work in creating a wonderfully creative and rewarding game ~kudos!

Phenomenal is the first word I thought of as I played the demo of this, the latest edition of the sequel of The Secret Order games.
One need not play the first of the series in order to become completed immersed and enthralled with this spectacular game... the cutscenes; graphics; voiceovers [yes! lip sync]; and amazing storyline combine to offer us an exciting adventure through time and space in an effort to continue the quest of survival of the secret order's mission to protect the innocent and defeat the dark forces of the dragon. There are plenty of 'extras' for those who enjoy the same [personally I rarely use strategy guides and don't particularly relish the collectibles], yet they are there if you do! : ) Oh, and there IS one 'cute' addition, yet my impression was that he was done in a tasteful and unobtrusive way so he was welcomed along on my gaming journey.
It is a rare opportunity to be able to play a boxed-version quality pc game at a casual game price.... and an amazing game in every respect even at that.
So give it a whirl; you will find yourself embarking on a fantasy endeavor which is eons beyond most of the shallow plots and cookie cutter graphics we are used to... this new epic opportunity is absolutely top notch and I hope you climb aboard by at least checking it out... if you enjoy games that are well detailed in every respect [ie. not overly embellished graphics with mindless, simplistic content], I am thus far convinced that The Secret Order: Ancient Times is going to evolve and continue to be quite an adventure... at any rate, I doubt it could disappoint any serious adventure/H0G game lover; this is TOP NOTCH casual gaming at it's best! <3

I am absolutely amazed at gamers giving this game a one star because it doesn't have lip syncing and includes dialog, etc. !!!???
Hello!? Are we living in the same world!? :} Personally I judge a game by it's merits alone and not by whether or not the gaming company has equaled it's last standards or not or whether it has all the hoopla I, in particular, want from a game!
So as far as I've played (and I purchased), this game holds it's own, ON it's own, and I'm eager to continue playing... the graphics are excellent; music is the familiar grim façade theme, the storyline is different and intriguing. I'm not one to necessarily appreciate CE extras, so I'm not rating the game on those either, but what I saw were appealing.
There is some adult theme involved via graphic depictions; and adult theme is something we have all been asking for.. yay!
So, if you enjoy adventure HOG's that are beautifully and originally designed, definitely give it a whirl yourself and have fun.... I'm guessing you will find it's attributes far exceed the one or even three star reviews found here thus far on the threads.

Virtual Families 2 is a fun game yet I would never, ever, ever want to buy my way through playing and have to continue paying money versus owning the game via upfront purchasing.
I initially believed this was a new version pc game upgrading/revamping the existing game, yet I own this game as a normal pc pre-purchased game and certainly do not enjoy the fact that it's supposedly a new game offering here because it's reconfigured as a "free to play" game, one that has to be 'fed' money in order to continue establishing the virtual family/ies.
Not worth it IMHO.... buy the original!
I don't recommend this game.
Discover a story of mysterious kidnappings of both children and mafiosi.

Well, I initially thought the combination of Mafioso's along with children being abducted, green goo and... butterflies [!?] would be way too faaaar of a stretch for the 'stuff' needed to pull off a 5 star CE, yet New York Mysteries Secrets of the Mafia does just that.
The production quality alone of New York Mysteries Secrets of the Mafia via visuals, sound, voice... are all enough to make this game worth the price of a CE.... yet add the exciting storyline and it offers very immersive and unpredictable, unique and exciting gameplay and... wow... YES... it's game time!
As noted by others in the forums, it's true there are definitely discrepancies regarding the time period in regards to graphics. In fact, it is apparent immediately in the style of hair and clothes the main character [we the players] uphold. Despite those variants to being exactable to the time period portrayed [1950's], the quality of the context [gameplay!] is such that they are easily overlooked.
SO.... if necessary, put on your gaming imagination 'hat' and get to sleuthing! This is a CE you don't want to miss if you enjoy first-person adventure-heavy casual gaming.
Definitely take the time to at least check it out and... have fun!
Super high kudos to the developers & BFG... thank you for this fantastic, creatively produced game; one for which I hope is the first of many!! : )

Nope, no VO's or woopdeedoo's, yet, Mexicana: Day of the Dead is a thoroughly entertaining game that stands on it's own and is truly the real deal [NO knock off here!] despite the low budget and FIRST impressions.
I am pretty certain I had done a beta test for this, yet the artwork and storyline was a bit different and to my eye, the graphics were a lot better in the original [no offense to the current art team, if, indeed different, just a matter of preference]. Despite the artwork... it IS, well, interesting [?] and sort of grows on you, and overall this game is SO much better than the usual, run of the mill... I wish it had the 'limelight' as tomorrow's game today, yet go figure.
The "Day of the Dead" [Spanish: Día de Muertos] is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico [and world in other cultures]. It is a holiday for gathering family and friends to remember [and pray] for loved ones who have died.
Enjoy the small nuances [black bar commentary when scanning scenes, as an example] and then immerse yourself in a game that takes you on a journey that is NOT all darkness and dread. There is a whole lot of cultural accuracy applied to details within the game... this and the way the storyline draws you in [initially I was prepared to dislike this game!!].... definitely give it a whirl and try it for the WHOLE Demo [at least] before you decide. : )
So, bottomline: I am upping my star rating a bit due to it's originality.... again, LOVE the music, artwork, general originality in development of plotline... which is a [heavy adventure themed] HOPA &
....a definite buy for this Senora!
