Whatever this game is, it is NOT MCF. I have no idea what they were trying to make but it fell really short of a good MCF game (think Dire Grove and Ravenhearst).
This game moved all over the place - jumping through mirrors to different locations and then back. I had no idea what was going on and what all of these places had to do with trying to find the kids. It was just bizarre.
At one time I must have accomplished all of the tasks but I didn't find the last jigsaw piece, yet. Too bad. It automatically moved me out of the location. That's nonsense.
The puzzles and HOPs were nothing to write home about. Not hard. Not easy. Just an exercise in using your mouse.

This was so slow that I got angry at it. I only did part of the demo because I could not bring myself to do the whole thing. If I had done the full 90 minutes, I would be in a white padded room with a jacket that belted in the back (with a purple crayon). Geez. AND it doesn't play full screen. I haven't seen that since like 2014. Ugh.
This is like playing games from years and years ago. First of all, you couldn't use a custom setting and had to see sparkles on everything. I do NOT want them but there's no way around them. The graphics are old school and the tasks are ridiculous. There is NO thinking involved. I couldn't even make it through the demo. I think the storyline could have been interesting if I could have kept playing.
I don't recommend this game.

Midnight Mysteries: Witches of Abraham
One night the ghost of President Lincoln appears, asking for your help. Can you find the hidden Confederate treasure?
This was released years ago but I am just now playing it. I have to say that it beats a LOT of the current games by a longshot! The story is great. The graphics are good. The puzzles are awesome!
What happened to this series? I own all of the Vacation Adventure games (cruise and park ranger) and this is at the bottom of the list. It's not terrible, but it's not good. First of all, there are the names of items that require you to look it up before you can find it. I am well educated and yet found that I had to do this way more than with any other game. Pinna? Acta Diurna? Busker? They have done this on other games but, like I said, this one took the cake on the number. They also got rid of the trash and replaced it with finding anchors. But the anchors are bright gold and stick out like a sore thumb. I think this is a throwaway since it takes no effort to find them. One of the things that I found annoying was the jigsaw puzzle. Instead of having a border that was a solid or semi-solid color, or muted pattern, this one was VERY BUSY so that if you put the extra pieces along the border, you couldn't see them.
If you like this series, this isn't terrible but it isn't the best one by a long shot. :-)
This is an OK game but if you have not played the other Paranormal games you're going to be wondering who Rick is and how he came to be missing. I've played a few of these games and didn't know he had gone missing and still don't know when nor how. Oh well
There is one of the eye collectibles that I was not able to get. Not because I didn't see it, but I couldn't collect it. I watched an online video and that guy couldn't collect it either. It's on the wall of pictures when Gabriel is messing with the mirror.
The puzzles have no challenge at all. It's more of a "put items in order" kind of thing. The only one that presented a bit of a challenge was where you had to align the puppets to their shadows. The hands are able to be moved yet they are obscured by the body in shadow so it's pretty lame that they added that. It would be like standing behind someone and guessing where their hand was based on their arm location. Go figure. It also says that a puppet will move into their shadow when placed correctly. But BOTH have to be placed correctly. It is not a big deal but even though one of them gave a little "jig" when it looked like it was right, I still wasn't sure.
And the end? I think the developers had to go on vacation or something because it ended very abruptly (after the bonus in the CE so I'm not sure how the regular edition will end). I will say that they left it open for yet another game.
It wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. There is nothing too terribly wrong with this game but I was just not excited to play it.
The gameplay was very one directional meaning that once you finished an area, it got closed off. So if you missed a medallion or jigsaw piece, too bad. You have to wait until the game is over. That type of play is also a bit easier since whatever items you have get played either in the location you're in or in one you're going to.
The puzzles are not hard and the HOPs are pretty straightforward. I had to use the hint one time because I couldn't find an item but then kicked myself because it was right in front of me. Oh well... This is a pretty good intermediate level game overall.
I cannot see myself re-installing this and playing it again in the future even though I have replayed several other MCF games. :-(
This is not a bad game. It's just not a good game either. The hidden object scenes are way too easy. There are only a couple of puzzles that take any time at all. And speaking of puzzles, what in the name of all that is holy were the developers thinking with the triangle puzzle where Roman and Ronald had grabbed the detectives arms and were literally STROKING them the entire time you had to solve the puzzle. Good God!! It was so distracting AND just bizarre. I had to go get paper to cover my screen. Anyhow, it is a good waste of a few hours but wait for a sale.
This was the most boring game I have ever played. I kept thinking it HAD to get better, but it never did. How some of these people are giving this a recommendation is beyond me. Play the demo. I wish to God I had (but did at least buy it during a half off sale). :-(
WOW! I absolutely loved this game. I am a puzzle freak and this one has so many puzzles that it's crazy! Even the hidden object scenes have puzzles that need to be solved in order to get an object. Yes, some are pretty hard and will take some time to finish. So if you're more into the hidden objects, this one might not be for you. Enjoy!
