This is not even close to being one of the best games in this series. Where to start with the problems... First, the voices sound computer generated. It is really annoying. Second, what happened to the sidekick? The owl was there for a little bit, gets caught, and then doesn't make another appearance until the closing scene. Seriously? Isn't this series about the sidekick? If you suddenly decide you don't want one, why introduce it at all? Next, the games are all repeats and not even good repeats. The first few hidden object scenes were like playing on a plane experiencing turbulence. They were moving!! What the heck was that all about? This is far from Utopia. If it IS Utopia, I don't want to go there...EVER.
I don't recommend this game.

Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek
Find a kidnapped teenage girl and save yourself in Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek, a fun Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game!
I bought this during a BOGO after searching for ones that had some puzzles AND had a high enough rating. I am so happy that I found this series! It has a great story, has great games, and the HOPs are not too easy. Overall, well worth the full price and wonderful if you get it during a BOGO!! On the the second in the series!
As with the other Living Legends, the storyline is quite nice. They would do well to add a bit more at the beginning to get everyone on the same page, but that's just my preference. As far as the game play is concerned, well, this is pretty boring. Having to switch between a bear and a person was just something to do and didn't add much to the overall game. There are some HOPs that are not at all challenging with every object out in plain sight or in an obvious "hidden" location. The "puzzles" are good if you are not up for a challenge, but for those of us that do want a challenge, even the "hard" is easy. The only puzzle that had any challenge was the board requiring the sprite, rose, apple, and fire to be placed on certain squares. Other than that.....Since I play these games for more than just a cute story, I can't give this a very high rating. :-(

What is with the people giving this game 5 stars? The music was awful. The story was awful. The movements were awful. The glitchy behavior of the game is awful. Bottom line is that it is awful. Play the demo BEFORE you buy because there is a really good reason that there are so many 1 star reviews. Geez.....

So this is not for everyone and I fit into the "everyone" category. I just couldn't get into it. After I got the hang of it in the first room (the Professor's apartment although all I saw was a desk and books) you go into this hidden room and then voila! you are suddenly in a prison cell. I don't know about you, but if I was looking at a picture and suddenly ended up in a prison cell, I would have some choice words and then be screaming at the top of my lungs. Nope. He looks around and says "oh this guy got tortured". It's just pretty weird. Play the demo and see if it's your "thing".
Wow. I haven't seen this bad of a game in a while. It's like a child did the graphics and then turned around and wrote the instructions. That means that the graphics are basic, and the instructions are terrible. I am so very glad I played the demo.

I'm not sure why people are giving this game 4 or 5 stars. My review is based on the demo so maybe it gets better? But I am not going to waste my money to find out.
This game is drab with the colors. That's OK initially but after a while it gets depressing.
There is absolutely no challenge to this game so if you are at least an intermediate player, don't expect much. When you get an object, it is obvious what to do with it. The puzzles are beyond easy. Not one of them took any time to finish. ZZZZZ
There is no way to click your mouse to get the dialogue to go faster. The bartender almost made me end the game as she spoke so slowly and I couldn't speed it up. Geez
I finished the demo well before the given 90 and would have finished even faster if the dialogue could be sped up.
A lot of died-in-the-wool MCF fans have been giving this a low rating, as it should be IF you are only looking for another MCF game. I get it since it IS called MCF. BUT if you are willing to play a new game by Grandma and not compare it to its namesake, then it's a great game. This is especially true for those of us that like a LOT of puzzles. And I do mean a lot of puzzles. Some were quite easy, while others were a challenge even for a puzzle freak like myself. If you are looking for another HOP game, keep looking because this ain't it. There are very few HOPs and those that are in this game are very easy.
PROS Tons of puzzles Long game Not a lot of back and forth
CONS Not a lot of HOPs Some puzzles have POOR instructions (how about telling us that ALL of the pieces need to be used) Storyline is disjointed and takes a while to make any kind of sense. Dark colors
I would probably not have bought this if I had only played the demo since, like I said above, the story takes a while to get going. So don't just play the demo and give it up. Especially if you like a good puzzle game.
I have been waiting for this to come out and waited until I had two credits so I could buy it that way. Imagine my disappointment when I played the demo only to find out it was lame! I guess the good new is that I have 2 credits to go find something else to buy, but geez.
I have played all of the MCF games and loved the majority of them. But this one had absolutely NO challenge to it. The games/puzzles were so easy that a grade school aged kid could do them (or maybe a GrandMa???). No skill was needed for the puzzles nor the "HOPs".
I guess if you like easy games, this might be for you. BUT PLAY THE DEMO to see if it's your cup of tea. Eipix please come back!!!!
