This is game that is better played in relaxed mode, as you can get a lot of delays (that spider....) and it needs a lot of planning even there.
But I wonder if there are some glitches. In too many levels the characters moved sloooowly. They did not run.
And then what about the levels 41-50? Are they supposed to be only in the collectors edition? If so, why display them? And if it not, why does the screen freeze when you try to load them?
The story is fun and whimsical, and as I said the game involves a lot of strategy planning, so it is fun enough
Sorry, I had to get it out. I had a great time making these puzzles. They are not the most difficult or tricky but they are fun but each time I see the word dwarfs I cringe.
This is an extremely inventive game that makes you scratch your head wondering HOW you are going to get what you need. And of course there is a way, but you have to look a lot and think.
Usually time management games when in relaxed mode can be dull, as the main challenge is to make it in time.. Not here. It is challenging of itself.
Add to it that the graphics are gorgeous and this is a real winner.
Do you like games that rely on quick thinking? Or you prefer leisurely games that let you wander and try different things? Because if the second there is a deal breaker at the end of each episode where you have to battle another dragon, and if you are not smart or quick enough you cannot go to the next one.
The other puzzles are OK that need some thinking, but you get to try different things and take your time.
So Mariaglorum wanted an old fashioned hidden object game. Good for them. But why ruin this wonderful series this way? I loved the plots I loved the characters I loved the mythos. Now it has all been chucked away.
I loved the little scarecrow. Now he is gone.
Please bring back the series as it used to be, and we will pretend that this never happened.
AMAX has decided to ditch the charming ERS look and instead go for grimmer graphics. Only that the storyline does not rate those scary visuals. Other games go for a grimmer look, but they deliver on it. This is just a tacked up attempt to say "look how grim and serious we are"
The storyline does not make sense. A baby that goes into a deep sleep and wakes up 25 years later and knows how to talk, how to accomplish different tasks, and is aware that she has a sister? Please.
With a few tweaks and visuals better suited to the story this would have been a decent game. As it is, it is just a warning to avoid AMAX in the future.
How many HOS of poorly lit assemblages of tiny objects can you take? I found out that by the eighth or ninth that I was not having any fun, and that I actually DREADED having to do one more.
I HATED it.
I never finished the first segment. I decided that it was not worth it. I am sorry I ever got it.
Hidden object scenes can be fun. These are designed for maximum aggravation. Find 5 paper clips in a messy desk - and not even large size. I usually use at most one hint per scene. Here I had to use the hint again and again (and await recharges) to get out. And no sooner I got out of it, I had another one in the messy desk...
Frankly I did not care for the storyline after that. All I wanted was never to see it again
Spellspire is a thrilling mashup of word game and action role playing game. Pick letters from a grid to spell words and shoot them from your wand as spells. The longer the word, the bigger the blast!
The more words you know the better. You also need to strategize. What is the best equipment to bring? How about the stuff that you can pick up and put in your bag? (HInt, if you are going for the star make sure that you have at least one potion) Is it better to find a long word to flatten an opponent? Or a fusillade of three letter words will work better?
After a detour that took 3 games, we are back in the storyline of the first 3 games. Her uncle is with her (wasn't he killed in "Dark Architect"?) And the owls are now mechanical. But still it is back to what we knew and loved.
The game is fun, as always and inventive. Nice to look at.
