I rate on fun factor, not story line, per say (although this game's story did keep me interested/paying attention.) I found many of the puzzles very boring, and skipped through them. The morphing objects, within the HOP, were usually somewhat challenging, and worked for me. Overall, the game play was pretty simple. The artwork and visual attention the Devs payed are spot on. Overall, pretty good game, just needed better puzzles.

I won't get into all the details about this game...done too well by others. What I will say, is that IMHO, this game is nothing new...same ole, same ole these Devs have done to death! I enjoyed these games several years ago...but with all the new technology out there, can't they come up with something more original/different? I did enjoy the more difficult morphing objects, and that I could turn the "curser-changing feature" off....this made finding the MO more challenging, for sure.( Now.....unfortunately, they used the same type of MO in different scenes which was not so fun...not saying what item is to prevent spoiling it for others.) As always, try it out for yourself...maybe you will like it. As for me, I'll just play any of their older games, and save my money!
Review based on SE...I just didn't feel CE was enough bang for my buck...and I'm usually a CE girl. I have no regrets purchasing the SE, though...definitely a fun game, and the graphics were great!! Nothing too challenging...in fact, fairly easy puzzles, etc. If you're looking for a good, relaxing game, try the demo...hope you like it as much as I!
I recommend this game!

Dark Parables: Requiem for the Forgotten Shadow Collector's Edition
A dark illness has befallen the townspeople of Anaben!
I base my reviews on the fun factor, not necessarily the story line...this game had great puzzles, collectors items were tough to find (isn't that the point?), and mini games were mostly very fun and just the right level of challenging! I do have a lot of trouble with the morphing items in these games, since I never know which scenes contain them...there are just a few scattered throughout... but I can find them once the Extras become available.
I play for fun, so if it's not that fun.... I don't get into describing all the details...others have done a much better job than I ever could. I just found this game middle-of-the-road...at best.
While this game is older, with a lot of small glitches, I enjoyed the game....and I certainly got my money's worth, as it is VERY long! I did not time how long I played it, but I'm pretty sure it is one of the longest games I own! I am replaying some of my older games, and have recently just started writing reviews, although I've been a Big Fish member for over 5 years, and have purchased/played well over 200 games. I say all that to say: I only review a game from my "fun factor" standpoint....and leave all the details to those better qualified to list them. As I stated above, this game has many technical glitches, but none that keep it from being" fun." The map has several problems, but, any time I used the Hint button, it sent me in the right direction, with the" jump" feature, so the map mishaps with not relevant for me. If you like old-school hidden object games, I think it's worth your time.
As always, try the demo....our tastes may vary. Happy gaming!!
This is my kind of game! I really enjoy it....the beautiful, spot-on graphics, the HOS, puzzles, etc. show that a lot of thought and talent were put into its development. Other reviewers have given all the details much better than I ever could, so I'll just add my 5-star review to the mix. (I only give a 5- star reviews when I find the game exceptional.) I am playing it for the second time...I have been dusting off some older games that I hadn't played in awhile...and was excited to replay this one.
As always...try the demo for yourself...as tastes differ!
This might as well be a Witches Legacy game...right down to the overwhelming amount of blues and purples they used. Dark, dreary, and a strong feeling of Deja Vu, due to the fact there was nothing new in this game. (Or, at least in the first 15 mins of demo...which was as far as I could make it.) I own several of this devs earlier games, but they seem to be in a rut. I don't understand why they keep cranking out the same "game/skill/nothing new" concept, and just giving them different names. We ARE onto you, Elefun!!
As many other reviewers have already done a great job in the description of the game, I will just comment on my experience with playing it. There was only one feature I really enjoyed... the ghostly pounds collectables. The "morphing" objects stood out, as they were usually completely a different color palette than the rest of the game. I also never saw one morph, as another reviewer mentioned. I'm assuming they did, but I wasn't looking at them long enough to find them by the change...just the color, or sometimes oddity of the item. And what is up with the pets? Made no sense to me! These are not my favorite devs, or series, and I must say this is my least favorite game in the series. The game just didn't strike me as fun. In fact, I didn't even finish the demo.
While I have purchased and played over 225 completed games from BFG (not to mention the hundreds of demos I tried and chosen not to purchase) I only recently started writing reviews. I do not claim to be the best at writing them, just to give an honest perspective.
As always, try it for yourself....some others seemed to think it is a great game.
