My advice is to play this game and then the rest of the series. These games are visually beautiful, the stories draw you into their worlds and the games are just plain fun. I was able to play all 3 of these in expert without hints, but I still felt challenged. Play it, you'll love it.
I'm gonna be brief and say this game is a lot of fun. The graphics, games/hogs, and story all work together to draw you in and keep you going to the end. I have nothing bad to say about this game. Loved it.
I bought this game based on everyone else's reviews but boy, was I disappointed. I played the game in expert level without hints and was still mind numbingly bored. The cutscenes are amateurish and flat, the story line left me uninterested and the games were very easy. The graphics, though clear, were basically a mishmash of greens and browns with a little yellow thrown in. I get that it's a theater, but the lack of color bored me to the point that I couldn't wait for the game to end. I like a game like Phantasmat, Enigmatis or the Shadow Wolf series. Those games make you feel as if you are living the game. I like drama for goodness' sake, and I expected to find it in Final Cut because of it's theater setting.......but all it did was put me to sleep. I wish I hadn't spent the money!
Maybe I missed something because everyone else seems to have rated this game highly....but I found this game to be boring x 10. The story line failed to keep me interested, the puzzles were easy and there was way too much back and forth travelling for me. The items, machines and people I had to engage with bored me silly. The graphics are basically a collage of browns and grays with some fire thrown here and there. I had to literally force myself to finish this game as I kept yawning and wishing I were doing something better such as the laundry. If you like an engaging story line, lush scenery and intelligent puzzles, my advice would be to skip this one.
Profoundly interesting and unique story line. The puzzles and games interweave seamlessly with the plot. I was able to complete the game (with a little effort in a few spots) in the advanced mode using no hints. The graphics are awesome. The plot twists and turns kept me glued to the game for hours. If you're a dog lover, you will truly love this game.
Brief review for casual gamers: This game is exciting, intelligent and will keep you glued to the pc. It's one of the best games I've played. The puzzles are easy to moderate with one or two being a little bit of a challenge. The story moves quickly and the characters interact with you frequently so that you feel like you are a part of the game itself.. The tasks you need to complete in order to advance are logical and imaginative. I was able to complete the game without any hints but that doesn't mean it wasn't a challenge. The twist at the end will bring you back for more.
Brief review for casual gamers: you'll love it. It's almost perfect and well worth the price. Engaging story line, wonderful graphics, intelligent puzzles, ..... a lot of fun for all skill levels.
Brief review for casual gamers: this game IS fun, fairly easy, but the ending is abrupt and I thought, unsatisfying. The opening movie is entertaining with an interesting story line. The live characters definitely add a creepiness which carries the mood along. The graphics are just ok, a little grainy and dark, which I didn't like. The games are easily accomplished and I particularly enjoyed the way the HOGs are games within games. I think this is an excellent game for a rainy afternoon, but it's not one for those looking for a challenge or beautiful graphics.
Briefly: I really enjoyed the story line. The visuals were gorgeous and the twist at the end was very enjoyable. I was able to complete the game without using any hints, so I think a beginner would enjoy this game. Overall, it is a pleasant escape into a magical kingdom with a logical flow and relatively easy puzzles. .
As a casual player, I like a game that moves quickly and keeps the story moving. This game was fun and imaginative. The puzzles were logical yet required some degree of out of the box thinking I had to turn the music down as I found it annoying, but other than that, this game was a pleasure. It's not of the caliber of Enigmatis, but is worth a play.
