I love the idea behind the GF series, they just are executed so poorly. The puzzles are either too simple or just tedious with minimal instruction.
I watched one of the You Tubers actually hit skip as they just couldn't finish the turning pylon puzzle. I actually did solve it, just because I wanted to waste the time and make sure it could be done, however, it was very unsatisfying as it was just click until it worked. And there were at lease 2 more like that. Or the games were so easy that I couldn't believe that I had actually solved them, surely there was more......
The lack of a reset button makes me crazy.
BUT...I do like the stories and it is maddening that they are so short. About an hour, maybe 90 minutes of game play, if that. So sad that they can't flesh it out.

I think that if I took out all my breaks, (I tend to play a while and then internet surf, back and forth) this game took less then 2 hours to finish. Not only is it short, but it feels more like a ho-hum bonus chapter then a full-fledged game. Very little storyline, very easy puzzles. No challenge really at all. And I have to say that I Hated! the final fight and ending. I am not sure how this story forwards the series. The graphics were good :) I should have listened to the other reviewers, but the demo seemed good so I went with it. Total disappointment.
I have enjoyed the Midnight Calling series very much, this particular episode was quite a let down. But it doesn't even make sense as a sequel. I am not sure that I will be revisiting this series and that makes me sad.
If you are just starting out with these games, it could work for a beginner. But I really don't think that a sequel should take on that role. Otherwise, unless you are a completist like me, this is a pass.
I don't recommend this game.

and I fear it is the end of this series. Witches Legacy used to be one of the best, but they are slipping. I am not so unhappy about the character change, Bertha the Ferret doesn't bother me so much, and the storylines wouldn't take much tweaking to rev them up. But there is just too much damsel in distress, what is the point of having a series about witches, when the witches are the ones that are taken off and you only see them at the beginning and the end? And no magic powers to use? Just think of the rocking games that could be had with magic! I think that there is just such a loss there. Covered by the Night, wasn't bad per se, it just wasn't up to the expected level. And that Red Moon! That was just annoying to have to wait through everytime you moved a step. Game play, not bad. (although the earlier comment about playing flash cards with a fish cracked me up!) This is more of a beginners game in my opinion is all. I am not going to recommend this game because a) there are better out there and b) I think that they need to step up there game and maybe some negatives will jar the juices loose.
I don't recommend this game.

Boy, was I disappointed in this one! I loved the first and second ones in the series and was really looking forward to the finale. I tried the demo and ugh. So I put off getting it. But, being the little completeist that I am, I kept nosing around this. I finally put it together with a bonus punch day and came up for $2.99 so I figured that I would give it a go. I am pretending that I got it for free :P It was slow, slow, slow. Not only slow to load between scenes, but slow paced. And, kinda boring. And that ending, no spoiler, but it certainly was not a showstopper. Not sure what the review about the bad language was about, I don't remember any of that. The graphics are fine. The voice overs are nothing to write home about, especially the Preacher, he was painful. The music is okay. Just a really ho hum game that I was really glad to see the end of.
I don't recommend this game.
Bring an end to Mr. Dudley's reign of terror!

This game is extremely playable, there are many HOS and many intricate puzzles. It has sustainable game play and will keep you occupied for hours. The graphics and music are top notch, the storylne is excellent, it all ties in very well together. It has an old fashioned feel to it, but don't let that throw you off. I really liked this game, and the series, and I am not even that fond of clowns :)
I recommend this game!

I am so hoping that this becomes a series. It pulled me in from the getgo, no slow beginning where you are wondering if it was a worthwhile purchase. There were some newer puzzles, great graphics, compelling storyline, what more do you need? I really wish that I had gotten the CE version of this one so it would have lasted longer. I heartily give this two thumbs up!
I recommend this game!
The rich folklore continues with this exciting tale set in an old Slavic land. As Child of Spring, can you save the world from eternal winter?

This is one of the few games that I really had to force myself to slog through and finish. It was a boring story, the puzzles were so very easy that only a beginner would find any challenge at all, and only because they are just starting out. The HOS were so-so. I would also ding it for being short, but that was the saving grace! LOL.
I don't recommend this game.
The past isn't set in stone. Now's your chance to change it!

I just wanted to come on and add my agreement to previous reviewers that had an issue with the ending. It was too abrupt, did not answer any questions, it just left you hanging. My favorite remark, that I am totally stealing here from Gunlott, is that it was like getting to the end of a book and finding the last pages missing, just like that old M*A*S*H episode :) That kept me from giving it 5 stars. I will recommend it, with this warning, the ending is missing.

The only problem that I had with this game, is that it ended too soon. I was having a blast. This series is one of the best out there. St. Germaine is a creepy little guy, but consistent :) The games and HOPS are pretty even, a little on the easy side, but some of the games let you choose easy or hard mode. Graphics are good, music is fine, storyline is first rate. I look forward to the next ones that I have in my gallery. Good job, this one is a winner.

I love this series. It is one of the first that I started with when I first started these games and I have always enjoyed myself very much. So much so, that I hold off on playing so that I have something to go to during slow times. With that said...........this one is awful.
The story line is pathetic. There is no rhyme or reason to it. There is a killing, here are some suspects. There should have been a whole game set of 'exclude the possibilities one by one'. Boom, there is the length that we are looking for. But no, here he is first off the bat.
There is no reason behind why he does it, no suspense to it at all. The game just ends after a stupid, and yes it was a stupid fight. I'm still not sure who did what at the end. Except....**spoiler alert** it is foreshadowed at the beginning.
I would love to see the last five minutes again, just to know what was coming and try to understand it. But I am not going to go through 2 hours of pain for it. Yes, 2 hours, how is that an acceptable length?
The games and HOGs are either very basic or way out of line. They were either too easy, or very silly. Maybe mine were just glitchy.
The game feels like an unfinished project that had to be a hurried release to meet a contract. Such a shame for this series. Now I don't know about using the next ones that I have stored up. Very disappointing.
I cannot unrecommend :) this game highly enough, stay away!
This is the 2nd game that I have been so disappointed with. (Grim Facade, different series) Have the game designers given up? Or run out of ideas?
