Even though there ARE hidden object scenes in this game, it felt more like a large file adventure game. Hints and skips are available for puzzles and hidden object scenes, but if you have trouble finding something to complete your task, you're on your own. Big Fish has an excellent walk-through that helped me several times with this.
I particularly liked it when the Fool has to go about in disguise. I've always enjoyed dressing up my characters in games.
I recommend this game!

A World Where "Playing With Fire" Is Actually A GOOD Thing!
This game definitely scores points for originality. There are many games where someone is pulled into a dream world, but this is the first I've seen where you have to paint pictures and set them on fire in order for that dream world to come to life! Visually stunning and not too difficult to play. You can customized your own settings (which is the best), and there's a map where you can move around. You'll also have a cute little dragon companion. Really enjoyed it!
I recommend this game!

Epic Escapes: Dark Seas
You among other passengers are trapped and to be able to escape you need to discover the secret of the Dark Seas!
I like the story line of this game, and the upside-down ship was really cool, but the graphics were ancient and the game was incredibly short.
If you're in the mood for an "old-school" HOG, this game is for you. There are limitless hints, no time limits and it's very relaxing. Just don't expect much more than that.

League of Light: Dark Omens
The mysterious League of Light has chosen you as their newest member. Are you up to your first assignment?
This game was incredibly fun! It was filled with hidden object scenes where the objects actually interacted with one another (IHOGs), and not just your usual pile of junk. Every scene in the game was LOADED with puzzles. The map was VERY helpful, especially given the enormous castle you were running around in (you could jump around on the map too, thankfully). My favorite part, though? The baby Griffin...what a cutie!
I recommend this game!

If You Like The Weird Park Series, You'll Love Dark Arcana!
This game was exceptional! It's more than just a "carnival" game, it also has a unique back story and an amazing romp through the "underworld" version of the carnival.
In addition to the "happy ending" you get with reuniting a mother with her child, you also get the bonus chapter that reunites the two star-crossed lovers.
I recommend this game!

Princess Isabella - A Witch's Curse
Help Princess Isabella lift the evil curse that has been placed on her castle! Solve perplexing puzzles and save her friends!
I've always enjoyed this game. Piecing together the mirrors, the multiple abilities of your "helper" fairy, and the reveal of the BEAUTIFUL rooms all combine to make this an excellent game. That is one big castle to explore!
I recommend this game!

The Book of Desires
Help Ashley escape with her life in The Book of Desires!
I enjoyed this game. The story was original (although you might be tempted, if you are a parent, to feel a little guilty), the graphics were lovely, and it was adequately challenging.
That being said, I'm glad the game was short because I had to start it all over from the beginning when I was nearly finished. Toward the end when you're collecting the souls, there are 2 areas that once you leave them, you cannot go back and get the souls, which means you cannot finish the game. I recommend when it comes time to collect the souls, you open up another window or device and let the Big Fish walk-through guide you through the process.
I recommend this game!

If You Like The Gourmania Series, You'll Love 2 Tasty!
I love hidden object games that revolve around food and running restaurants, and there aren't very many, so I HAD to buy this when I saw it. It's very similar to the "Gourmania" series, which I adore. They even go one step further and give you the recipes for some of the yummy food you make. Another great feature of this game is that you can play it un-timed. My one criticism would be that some of the recipes seem to go on forever...lots of clicking!
This game was chock-a-block with cuteness. Pengoo's little voice was adorable (there were WAY too many voiceovers, though), there were LOTS of challenging HO scenes to play, and the mini-puzzles were fun without being too hard.
The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because this game literally made my kid cry. Why? Because after you feed the cute little mouse and bird, then you turn around and feed them to the cat!! A bad move if they were marketing this toward children. I mean, it had the bone-crunching sound and everything!
So long as you don't have a sensitive kid standing behind you, you'll have fun with this game.

Dark Parables: Curse of the Briar Rose
Help a detective explore a rampant briar growth in Scotland, and discover the true tale of the real Sleeping Beauty!
Despite all the new and improved Dark Parable games, I still go back and play this one again. Perhaps, for its simplicity? I love the FROGs, the door puzzles and the lovely scenery and music. You can play it in hard mode (no hints or skips) once you finish, but you'll only need to until you find the rope, then you can go down into the well to open the secret door. Briar Rose will appear again throughout the many DP games, and this is one of the few where the detective doesn't get thrown off her horse, LOL!
