There was a lot to like here. You are looking for kidnapped children in the little town of Everlake. It's a bright, colorfull town that's well drawn and pretty. You do have a fair amount of interaction with other people including the children's parents, an unknown male, the villan, his helper, his grandmother and several of the children amoung others. There are lots of HO scenes and a ton of inventory objects. My only complaint was that the mini games only had children's drawings for instructions. That was fine for some but not so great for others. I did like the moving match games and I really liked the stages that would appear that told you some of the backstory. I must admit that by the time I had finished the bonus game, I was ready to be done. So that tells you it was quite a long game. This one had a good solid story, long and detailed game play. lots of mini games, a good hint system and even a side search for masks as collectables. Lots to like and I did. I am pretty sure you will too.

Wow let me tell ya.. this developer has it down and they just keep getting better. Totaly cool story told by a miniature pirate guy with the perfect narrater's voice. The story of a town where statues come to life and the little orphan girl who lives there. The graphics are amazing and so detailed that even the stars in the sky dim and brighten. You have several small statues that jump to life and help you when you need them..including a miner guy, a little flying rooster and several gnomes. Too cool !! A side search for 16 miniature statues as well. Lots of locations with a jump map. The map would also tell you where there were things to do.. which made the game a touch easy IMO. It did eliminate any wandering though. There were achievements mostly in conjunction with game play rather than bonuses for not using hints etc. This is really a great game package with lots of HO scenes that never once repeat, a great story, awesome graphics and a pretty good length. Exactly the kind of game I look for. This baby was perfect. Haven't played the bonus chapter yet but the fact that I probably will play it says something as I almost never do.

Something about this game just didn't work for me. It seemed dark and oppressive. And I must say that i really didn't care for the corpses lying around. Even if the subject matter is a bit dark, I prefer if games are brighter and a bit more colorful. (nightmare realm, raincliff) The adventure part was fine and the HO scenes were there. It was well drawn and detailed. I think it was the atmosphere of it that I didn't like but that's just my opinion. But also there was nothing interesting here for me. No weather changes, no 3d scenes, nothing that made you jump, no animated helpers, no interaction with anyone, no collectables nothing . And as for the creepy little guy running around I just wanted to bag him and make it go away. Really didn't care for this one. Just a straightforward, rather dark mystery game where you collect body parts and use them at the end. Yuk Not my cup of tea.

Wow .. this game had all the bells and whistles. Not one but three different collectables...ten cards, ten pictures and turning on 10 lights. Awesome. I love those. Plus it had at a huge number of achievements to achieve. Gives the game lots of depth. It also gives you motivation to play every HO scene without using a hint. and helps you to slow down and really look around the room before moving forward. Add to this a very interesting storyline, real actors with some good VO's and a long game and you have a recipe for success. This young woman's rich and famous father had an affair that came back to haunt him. He then tried to solve the problem in quite an unusual way. Now the daughter has come for revenge. Very interesting, very enteraining, great looking, smooth playing game. I loved it.

I thought this game had a lot going for it really. it's long and absolutely gorgeous This developer seems to get better with each time out and this one shows a good progression in storyline production. I really liked the addition of the morphing objects and they were harder to find as they didn't always morph first time through, I also liked the abilities.. a raven you could summon, a master key and the rat flute. Very entertaining. I really enjoyed the art work of the town just beautifully drawn. The VO's were pretty good. On the con side it did have a lot of back and forth which some players don't like but I do so I didn't find it a problem. I find having to backtrack sometimes only adds to the game. It also had a lot of HO scenes. Again ok with me but some may find that irritating. I thought that just a huge amount of work went into this one and it showed. I for one, appreciate it when developers put in that much effort to make the game stunning and long. It may not have been the smoothest flowing game but Good job BTG's.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
Wow this was an excellent adventure !! Beautifully drawn, bright, colorful and incredibly detailed. Great story that was front and center. Loved the talking pirate skeletons. Lots of inventory items and a ton of HO scenes. And if you really couldn't see an item in the HO scene.. well you could just play a game of Toggle Majhong instead and it would give you the item. Very inventive and a nice change from having to use a hint. Loved the creature that protected the treasure chest. creepy fingers. Each time you gave him a coin he would show you a video peice of the story. There were several places in this game where you had to find pieces in order to construct tools that you needed and other times where you had to make potions to move forward. The cut scenes and music were great and the length was perfect. Not too long not too short. The map was quite helpful throughout and would point out areas where things still needed to be done. Nice ending. Really enjoyed this one. Great game. Have not played the extra yet. I would like if these CE games would start adding collectables rather than sound tracks or wallpapers for extras but that's just my preference. I would rather have more gameplay than add ons later. But I did completely enjoy this one. Well worth the time and money investment. I almost didn't try it as I am usually not crazy about pirate stuff but this one might change my mnd. Don't miss it.

Well i agree and disagree with some of the other reviewers. First I really liked this game. I like the live actors, the voice overs were pretty good and you never lost sight of the storyline. i did agree that they overdid some of the written notes, especially when combined with the oral explanations from the actors. There were also a couple of mini games that I thought ..you want me to what? I just didn't get the instructions.. even with the SG. However this game had a lot of HO scenes, many many inventory objects, lots of mini games, good music and was beautifully drawn. The HO scenes had plenty of color and you had interactive objects within them. The hint system was very helpful. There was some backtracking but this only added to the game. It was a good length and was very enjoyable. I have not played the extra yet. I think some collectibles, morphing objects or achievements might have been a nice a addition but overall I thought this was a very good follow up to the first Fog game. It is dark and creepy but I always like games where you can remove the "evil" and bring in the light. Enjoy
I recommend this game!

I didn't think I'd like this one right off as it seemed to have a lot of blood. But there was so much more to the game that you soon lost sight of that. It had achievments including finding all the vials of blood, biting all or none of the women and some of the more traditional ones like not using hints for HO scenes. It also had abilities that you can earn and finding the vials of blood gave you the energy to use them. Even in it's SE form this is a long game. Locations were marked as complete as you went along. There were VO's that were excellent especially the one of Igor. It also had some quite humorous dialogue. There were several times here where you are given options with consequences and must choose what you want to do. Not sure how the game would have changed if I had chosen differently. May try it again. I found the mini games, with a couple of exceptions, relatively easy but fun. There was just sooo much to like about this one. For someone who's not that into vampire games I was surprised how much I liked this game. If you liked Sherlock Holmes..Hound of the Baskerville you will like this one. Give it a go.. try not to notice the blood and you'll soon be enjoying the storyline.

This game had a lot going for for it IMO. For the price of an SE it had achievements to achieve, morphing objects and a strategy guide. The storyline was quite good, the HO scenes were plentiful and it had some very tricky inventory objects. You interacted with a kid and a cop, traversed electrical wires and explored attics and hidden rooms. Was it anything new and different? No. It even had the dreaded elevator complete with endless trips up and down. But if you hadn't played all the others and started with this one you would probably think it was quite a good game. My only complaint was that I only found 19 of 22 morphing objects and when I tried to rectify that by using the SG it only showed 16. hmmm. No matter. I reaaky liked the ending. Thought it was quite well done. Despite the atmosphere being somewhat gloomy and rundown I must say that I did enjoy this one. For the price, it's a lot of game and it will keep you thinking through out.

This one was just okay for me. The storyline was predictable as was the ending. There wasn't much interaction with anyone really. A few very brief conversations with the butler but that was about it until the end. The other thing that I didn't like was the lack of color. Everything seemed to grey and brown. There were a lot of dark rooms that you had to use your flashlight in also. I did like that the HO scenes were the exception to that and were brighter, clearer.and a bit more colorful. And I did like the creepy feel and that the storyline, however predictable, was front and center throughout.. The opening really sets the stage for the mystery quite well. I played the CE and you definately needed the extra chapter to finish the story. All in all despite the dull dark colors I did like this one and even played the extra chapter which I quite often dont. It had a good creepy feel, lots of inventory objects and held one's interest
