There is a sense of peace just sitting and working through the lovely scenes. I find I am, nowadays, avoiding the 'hard modern scenes' in games, these ones are very much fantasy and the Stained Princess is just such a game. It goes along well, the story holds together and, of course, the ending is Happily Ever After. My sort of game :D
It has become boring, slow-moving and not very clear. When I found a pot with a lot of cobwebs I was expected to clear it with a feather! One feather! The HOGs are not clearly drawn and so it's hard to find what I am looking for. At one point I learned by having to use a hint that I needed to use the magnifying glass, there was no other way to work out what to do. Once, when Hidden Expedition was new, the game was vital and challenging, but not any longer. Time to put it away for good.
How I wish there were more games like this one. It has everything going for it. The music is soft and a bit dreamy, the little characters are so full of expression. The story goes that a little boy's sister is seriously ill and he gets through his fear of losing her by creating a story where her rabbit is taking care of her. Brother Rabbit, staying with her and caring for her along the way goes through some very hard things until she is finally well again, and we are there helping him along. There are so many interesting things to find among delightful scenes, all very odd but very much part of the world Brother Rabbit finds himself in as he carries her along. It's not like your usual HOGS it's far more challenging. I don't think you can go wrong with this game, it will keep you coming back over and over.
It ended before it had really got underway. I was disappointed and to top it off the Bonus game was nothing other than an afterthought. It could have been a lot better.
For some reason, I found I had downloaded this before and, clearly, for the same reason trashed it. It's not the least bit interesting and, as the others have said, I don't like limited moves or being timed.
Now, this is more like it! It's been a long time since I have been inspired to write a review, but this game has got to be one of the best I have seen for many a long month. The visual and sound quality is good and not in any way irritating, the level of Challenge moves from simple to very complex with some types of HOGs definitely different from the same old same old. The storyline was clear and interesting as we moved from present to past and back again, with the scenes clearly one time or another. The characters were likeable and all in all, I would rate this a winner.
So often I find the same game played in different scenes and by different characters, but still 'same horse, different track'. This game has the added sense of gambling and so all the games you play are spun around cards and roulette wheels etc. It does get tricky and I have to admit I got lost several times, so it's always handy having the hint button there. The HOGs were good and some of them a bit mind blowing due to the amount of items you had to seek amongst, but all of them attractive. Everyone else has covered it far better than I have so just take my word for it, it's a very enjoyable game.
They are so enjoyable with very clear graphics and in between the hidden objects scenes, the puzzles are just as entertaining. On top of that we are watching the park growing and developing and getting to know the people as they go about their jobs.. It's a wonderful idea for games that while away the hours and lets you get into a whole new world.
