Maybe I'm a sook, but I was upset that the tame bear had bitten the man so he caged it and there it stayed without food or water never to be heard of again. I lived in hope we'd find he'd returned but... Other than that a great game and one I will return to very soon. All the morphing and collection things we enjoy, plenty of attractive surroundings and pleasant people, a game that doesn't lose you half way through because you can't find the plot any longer. All is great - except for the bear :(
We could do without that wretched youthful Francis Drake, he's a pain in the neck. Like on of the other players I can't finish the game - I can't work out why the 'Hints' insist I place a box of matches on its mirror or try and put them on or near Drake, it doesn't work. Morphs are unreliable there are times you can't pick them up and other times where they show quickly then vanish forever. No, not worth the money.
The destinations were pleasant and enjoyable, the voice overs were good, the story was fine, except our dog Ice didn't get much of a look in despite being her guide.
What I did find irritating was the lack of directions when it came to solving various games. I found myself saying "What on earth...?" many, many times. Too often it was not clear how the game was to be played and it was also hard to figure it out. Consequently, there were a number of games I skipped simply because I didn't have a clue what they were talking about.
Other than that it was okay.
I recommend this game!

Phantasmat: Town of Lost Hope Collector's Edition
Carrying the lives of many on your shoulders, you are forced to balance on the tightrope placed between life and death.
It's not often I stop half way through a game and think "This is getting me down," but now I have. The game is very dark, and the surroundings never let up their awful grim and grimy scenes. There is absolutely no lightness at all; it is depressing to the extreme, and no game is meant to bring the player down into gloom and feeling trapped. It was with a sudden inspiration that I realised I didn't have to keep playing. There is absolutely nothing about this game that is in any way attractive, bright, or challenging. I found that the lack of comprehensive English very difficult as well. I understand that the makers had to translate their game, but it needed more careful editing. I'm unable to recommend this game on any level.
This is one of the best. It was beautiful with no harrowing blood dripping scenes or dirty bathrooms. There was a sense of space. All the games were possible with a bit of effort, and I managed all but one of them. Loved having to find small hidden eyes. The characters were all very acceptable. In short there is absolutely nothing I can criticise. Definitely the sort of game I find mind challenging and relaxing.
Some games are okay and some are outstanding. The outstanding ones I can just about recognise at the outset and can settle down and really enjoy everything about them. The rest are okay, but one can get quickly bored. The trouble with a lot of these types of dated and blood dripping games is the scenes are morbid and dreary and you find you just want to get out and away from them. This is one of those. The things you have to do can be a bit illogical and when you are driven to use a hint you find yourself surprised at the result. All I can say is it helps to pass the time if you've nothing betting to do.
There was a tree of flowers in just about every room that needed to be eliminated; that became tedious. There was not a lot of logic so what came next could be very confusing. The characters were dismal, especially the women who kept fainting all over the place and were next to useless - come to think of it, the men were no better. No, not a good game
Not a lot of logic. You can find yourself thinking either 'what next?' or 'why that?' or even worse 'what about the people who are dying?' There's no hurrying our hero no matter what. The morphs are difficult to see even when they are there. It helped to pass the time, but I wasn't sorry when it came to an end
