The scenes and storyline are good BUT the directions for the side challenges are poor and in most cases I found myself skipping them due to not being able to work out what was required. I found this disappointing. Love the wise owl hints and the dragon that changes to different elements as required, but it didn't make up for the difficulties due to lack of clear instructions or that some items were kept for so long that one lost direction about where they might belong. Can't give it more than three stars.

Sable Maze: Norwich Caves Collector's Edition
Your students have gone missing during an expedition under the university. Can you track them down before the water rises?
This is one of those games that has nice surroundings, good colour, nothing grim but also challenging. The instructions for side games are clear and easy to understand. The HOS inspire thoughtfullness and are challenging, but don't leave you feeling like an idiot. There are various items to find, but it's only a matter of being careful you miss nothing in any scene. The story hangs together and there are cut scenes that explain the history. After some of the games I've played recently I found this a pleasant change.
A long-forgotten artifact has just resurfaced, and the race to claim it will cause a devastating war. The only thing strong enough to stop it is one woman’s promise to the man she loves.
There is nothing about this game that is not to like. The scenes are clear and light, there are no dark drab bits anywhere. The story hangs together well and there are enough HOS to give you a break from the seeking and searching, BUT there are a lot of items to be placed and a lot of places to find and put them. You do tend to go back and forth an incredible number of times for just one item and this can become confusing and a bit irritating. However, despite that I enjoyed the game
This is the first game I have played for a while where the rooms were all bright and happy, not the least bit drab. There is a map where you can move from place to place as the game becomes more complicated and a good hint hand that fills quickly and is very helpful. The story is great - a challenge but most of all entertaining. Not too many HOS but enough to feel at home. Colour and sound is excellent and overall I would reccomend this game for everyone from child to older adult.
I was put off with Angelica standing in the lower corner staring... I found it irritating and intimidating because she seemed judgmental. A lot of the time the game didn't run logically, it was hard to see the connection between the item and the tool, strange things worked that shouldn't have, so that hints were required . Several of the games didn't work well and it was difficult to move objects. In the end it was easier to skip the game rather than throw the computer through the nearest window. All up, it wasn't worth the money.
I have enjoyed this game. It's not one of the best, but it has a certain quality that keeps pulling you in. It isn't too hard and so long as you have good memory so you can recall what items go where, you will have fun, but then there is always the hint button that will direct you to the right place without having to reload. I liked the characters and the scenes were nice. Not to many HOGs but enough to make a break from seeking and finding. The mad scientist is still mad and is capturing people from the town to use in his experiments, but only their dreams, so it isn't horrifying and creepy... All over a good game and worth the money
It is a good thing that the hints gives you the next destination, for without them you could easily be lost. It isn't that the different sites are hard to find, but once you have an item in your inventory it is very hard to remember where it is supposed to go. I found the game involving and interesting but the bonus game was too long and somewhat boring. It is all very predictable but it does help to pass the time. May be worth the money, but I would probably bypass the CE in future
So many games are rather dark and dreer, this game isn't, and the story line is excellent. There is not need for a map, it all takes place in a mansion and the gardens. Yes it is at times hard and sometimes you might use the strategy guide, but don't feel guilty, this game is challenging and can be thought provoking. The scenes are lovely, the HOGs are good the characters are nice except for the witch.. it is also a good length and so worth the money. t like it
I have not finished the game and already I am looking for another one to play. I found this irritating and in the end kept returning to the hints just to hurry it along. It goes on too long and there are too many things one has to find before you can move forward at all.. each time you arrive in a new scene it requires any number of items that are not in your itinery and have to be found, despite the number of items you already have. For this reason the game seems too long and boring
