This is by 8 floor studios and they bring us all kind of nonograms, mahjong and card games. Also, they have a few hidden object games as well and I usually enjoy their games. However this is a run of the mill solitaire game. There is nothing special about it, it gets mundane and I usually play it before bed to make my eyes sleepy since its such a yawner.
Its a pretty long game but it might have taken me longer since its so run of the mill and there is nothing new. I usually like solitaire games especially Fairway, both the iphone game BLAST and both the pc versions. Fairway at least has something new to the solitaire genre but this one is just mindless clicking. You can skip levels if you want to and you can play any of them over. The advanced mode makes you play the whole pack like all 10 levels over again if you want the best score whereas casual mode you can replay any of the levels over again without having to play the whole pack again. I didn't need to play any over again...I could barely get through them one time let alone trying them again (sheer boredom).
IF you are a die hard solitaire fan and you love it and can't get enough you will probably enjoy this game but as much as I like solitaire, if its the same thing over and over and over again, I get bored so please devs be a little more creative!!!!

I am on level 30, I have played the majority of this game but its taken me ages to advance due to the sheer boredom I get from playing it. At first I enjoyed the overall game, the funny quips between the maid and the dwarf but over time that got tiring. There is a lot of dialogue between the chapters but its all skippable but still its a lot and they are discussing things I don't care about and to be honest it's a bit sexist...Although since its just a game, I did not get offended. Just a bit weird though as its something I haven't seen in a game for awhile if ever... but its the character's personality so yah...
I will say the levels are a bit of a challenge to get gold on. In the beginning its easy peasy but over time it does get harder and the bonuses never seem to help make the level any easier. I am not an expert at TM games though so for some it might seem easy. Looking at my game board though, I have more silver & bronze stars than gold and usually when I go back and do a level a second time, I can get gold and this time not so much.
Part of why its hard to finish in time is because you actually have to hover over buildings to see if you have the right things to build it. Also there are these baddies who shut your buildings down by putting this green haze over it that you can't remove unless you get the proper mana that the witch administers. You have to pick up all the items that your buildings make yourself unless you get the power up to do so which slows down this game a lot. You cannot multi task your men unless you have enough to do the task so no queuing beforehand which I find annoying! I guess there is a lot going on and not in a good way. After the first chapter it just gets mundane which is hard when its such a busy game.
There are a lot of achievements but none that are very interesting or that I could care about getting. There are a lot of things to do in each level yet I didn't care to keep doing them. This game could have been awesome but it fell short and Im just sooo bored of it and it shows when you have 15 levels left and can't seem to finish the game.
I like this game but I don't like this game. I can't recommend it nor tell you to stay away from it. If you like these games you will probably like it at first but buyer beware there are wayyy better games out there in this genre. Viking Brothers, Viking Saga, Roads of Rome, Northern Tale (although I am not a huge fan of this series, its spectacular compared to this one), MKFTP (except the 4th one) and my favorite one...Gardens INC....

Holy Moly are you in for a treat with this game. I had no idea that this game would knock my socks off. I thought it would be a time killer at best but wow was I surprised! I have never heard of the developers but if they keep making games like these, I will be happy to keep buying them!! I usually cannot stand helpers or going into different worlds via portals but this game made them both fun. As for the helper, its a goblin you acquire much later in the game and he's so non-obtrusive that half the time I forgot he was there! So no annoyance there! Also it prompts you when to use him which I normally don't like but in this game I was happy to be told as like I said, I forgot I had him! The portals were done in a new way and since portals are not a new concept, you have to believe me when I say they are well done! They all connect to each other so its easy to find your way back and forth through them not to mention you have the world's greatest map to show you what world you need to go back to because there is a lot of back and forth into the different worlds. Usually that get complicated and I lose interest but its so well done in this game that I looked forward to the new worlds.
In each world, there are lots and lots of things to do and some are tricky. There are plenty of hidden object scenes, some interactive silhouettes and others the simple find it kind. There are a lot of puzzles too and they are not hard but they were so colorful and so different compared to other games that I enjoyed them even though they could have had more thinking power to them. I just enjoyed playing this game and its been awhile since its been hard for me to put a game down. Usually I am super bored and can't finish or can't wait to finish!
The story line is a same ol one we've had before but the game makes up for it. All of the things to do and see and the beauty of the game makes the story line seem better than it really is. I enjoyed the pace of the game and I LOVED how this game took me around 4+ hours to complete. There are like 7 worlds? They weren't rushed, weren't overly complicated like some surface games but were done with finesse. I felt like I spent just enough time at these locations and the game wasn't being rushed along. I felt like I wasn't ripped off but given a game that was so wonderfully crafted and you can tell the developers put love into it.
I would have loved this game 10 times more if it had been a collector's edition. I usually never play the bonus chapters or get bored of them when I play them but I wish there was more of this game. I hope these developers put their heads together and make some more mind blowing games. This game doesn't have achievements, collectibles or any fluff but it doesn't need any. This is one of those standalone games that just knocks your socks off. You won't be disappointed with this one! LOVE!! Cheers Devs! More please!!!
I recommend this game!

This one is way better than the first one but I remember really liking the first one too so this series just keeps getting better which is a plus. Had I gotten the standard edition instead of the collector's, I would have rated this 5 stars but the bonus game was a miss for me and the collectibles are sooo easy to find although I did like finding them in each room, just wish they were a bit tougher to spot. I really think this developer has improved from their first couple offerings :)
I like the science angle in this game as I am a bit of a nerd :) So a mad scientist is trying to make some kind of new energy source but can't do it alone and just happens to have the daily paper where you are pictured along with your to be husband because you guys are top notch scientists so of course mr. I want to take over the world decides to kidnap your fiance and you go on a course to not only get the love of your life back but find an antidote for your soon to be mother in law & save the world or so it seems....all before the big day! gosh as if you weren't stressed enough...
The story is same ol but this one was done in a way that made it fun. It had science on its side and although not the most educational thing, it was fun. The hidden object scenes are visited twice and are mildly interactive. You know sometimes I find mildly interactive boring but I liked these because the other items were kind of tricky to spot. I couldn't just do a click fest and find things, I actually had to take my time, read the list, then look. The puzzles are way too easy as per usual and I like puzzles so I wish they had a way to make them more challenging if we so desire but there were a good variety and I still enjoyed them.
There is a standard, satisfying ending in the main game. There is no need for the bonus chapter which was insanely boring in my opinion and I played about 20 minutes into it before deciding that I was done with the find the object and use it right away. In the main game, you do use items you find rather quickly but I still liked all the tasks and it kept my interest. The bonus chapter did not keep my interest. It is set in the past, involving your grandpa (or I assume its your grandpa? Im not really sure) and how he was taken at some point to help this crazy guy in 1927...I didn't get too far but it was just a filler and not needed for the main game which is a good thing.
The collector's edition has numerous achievements some I haven't seen before and some I found impossible to get but thats good :) There are 164 collectibles (observers) and they are easy peasy to spot as I stated earlier. There are the usual assortment of a screen saver, wallpaper, soundtracks etc as well as the bonus chapter. Had I to do it over again, I would have bought the standard edition and I would have rated it 5 stars. Its a fabulous game but the extras make me remove a star since this is the review for the Collector's Edition.
I do recommend this game as a CE but only if you don't mind my reasons for not liking the extras...and I definitely think you should get it as a standard because games like this are few and far between that actually hold my attention and make me smile while playing them. IF more games were like this, I'd be broke :) Game took me about 5 hours not counting the bonus as I quit it haha. Kudos Devs!
I recommend this game!

I like this series but my favorite part about it is the sound effects. Sometimes with match 3 games sound effects can make or break a game but I love the sound the items make when you match them and also when building the alien world. I know that sounds strange but it was pleasing to my ears and it made it hard to put down.
It took me awhile to finish this one and I got almost all the achievements but I decided I had gotten enough as most of the mini games didn't really appeal to me. My only qualm is that I wish there had been more variety to the boards but I still enjoyed playing this game.
The best part of this game had to do with my cat lol when I played this game on the laptop she liked to watch the icons move. Sometimes she'd get onto the laptop and try to swipe my screen. Love games that make her even sillier than she already is! I would recommend this game as well as others in this series. In fact I wish they would make more.
I recommend this game!

I love nonograms with color! I have some of these types on my iphone but they are rare and I am soo happy that this company started the trend as the other series of these had gotten stale and too easy and these devs made it fun again!
I liked the variety of puzzles and some were hard to do let me tell you but I was able to do all of them. I didn't get the gold medals, I just played to play as these puzzles are fun to me in a calming relaxing way not a frantic way like some other games like this are.
All the pictures were visually beautiful and you could tell what you were making, or at least I could. Some games like this keep you guessing. There are 20 chapters of 5 levels each and my only qualm is that I wish the boards had gone higher than 20x20. I would really love if a dev pushed the envelope and did higher boards because people like me who love these types of games and consider ourselves experts would LOVE the ability to use our brains and skills and solve harder, longer puzzles. I know I can't be the only one!
Overall I had a great time playing this and it took me a long time as I didn't play it all in one sitting. You are helping the penguin build up his garden but it wasn't all that spectacular and I preferred the game play over the extra bits.
I am glad that there happen to be many many more in this series and many more in color! This is a must have game for nonogram fans :) Games this good in this genre are few and far between. Kudos to these devs for the great games!
I recommend this game!

After playing a bunch of duds, it was nice to play this little gem. Its a bit easy and a bit short but there is a lot of things to do, a great map, interactive hidden object scenes and an eerie atmosphere to go with it. I liked the story line and although we have seen it before, I thought it was well done...however the ending is abrupt, the mini games are wayyy too easy and the hidden object scenes were like click everywhere and you get the object. But for a stand alone standard edition game, I liked it!
I liked the eeriness of the game. Its at an old boarding school for girls. You are the detective assigned to the case to figure out who is kidnapping all the girls years later. Kind of reminded me of the bad horror movie Valentine but I liked the overall feeling of the game. I thought the notes along the way really made the story stand out and gave it some dimension.
I see some reviewers complaining of the darkness but I liked that angle. It reminded me of older, spookier games instead of these light and bright fantasy games we keep getting. There is an in game flashlight and sometimes it helped in the hidden object scenes but the hidden object scenes were so bare that if you clicked anything, it was usually the item.
I give this game 3.5 stars but I rounded up because it kept my interest. It took me 2.5 hours to play it and I finished it in one sitting. It kept my interest the entire time and had the ending not been so abrupt, I probably would have given it higher marks. Some games are just meant to be little fillers inbetween bigger, longer games and I enjoyed this one very much. Kudos devs!
I recommend this game!

I got through almost 5 portals and then decided enough was enough. This game is soooo linear and formulaic and easy! I don't mind easy games when I want to relax but the repetitiveness is what killed this game for me.
To go through a portal, you must activate them. Each one is activated the same way by finding 5 pieces of the clue (papers) and whatever object brings it to life usually tokens. Then when you activate the portal, it gives you a magic gem for your amulet that helps you along in the game to grow, make fire, water and bring light etc. And this repeats 5 times or more. I am not sure how far it goes because by the time I got to the flying city and realized it was yet another portal and more pieces to find, I decided I had had enough. The game was no longer fun, I no longer cared what I was doing and the plot line has been sooo overdone that it too held no interest to me.
There is some red bad guy flying around taunting you while you figure out why your uncle activated the first portal you guys have been working on before it was ready and of course when he went into this different realm the bad guy took hold of him and so you must rescue your uncle while figuring out this unfamiliar world. I have done this way too many times and I didn't care to find "my uncle" or figure how to get home.
There are hidden object games with some interactive bits but not enough to hold my interest. The mini games are really easy and mind numbing. I love puzzles and I groaned when stumbling upon them. Waste of time. 5 seconds and done. Move one thing and it finishes the puzzle are not my kind of games. I like to use my brain sometimes :)
There are 20 morphing objects throughout the worlds. They are easy to spot, I just didn't care for them. There is a bonus chapter that I didn't get to! Didn't care for the main game let alone any of the extras.
Overall the graphics were good, the voiceovers were well done but the overdone story line, boring hidden object scenes & puzzles and the linear, repetitive game play made this game unbearable for me to finish. There are so many better games to choose from then this dud!
I liked the game during the demo so I can only imagine all these 5 stars are due to the demo and not the whole game. Hence why I don't do demo reviews! Try again devs.
I don't recommend this game.

Its been awhile since a game has really captured my interest and held it. Not to mention I had a hard time trying to wrench myself away from playing it so that is always a good sign. This game also has replay-ability unlike most other games because the hidden object scenes are random except for the interactive item but the lists are pretty long so if I played this again, I would have completely different objects! A big thumbs up for that!
I found the atmosphere of this game well done. I can't say I was actually scared by it or felt it needed the warning label but it created this eerie, realistic mind set where I wanted to know more, needed to know...actually craved to know which is rare for me lately. I've played soooo many games that finding a wow factor in most escapes me but this game had the wow factor and the different element to it that made it special. I have never heard of this developer and I can only hope they will make more games like this and finish this story line.
So thats why I can't give 5 stars. Although I do realize this is a part of trilogy, it leaves on such a cliffhanger. Both the main game and especially the bonus chapter leave you feeling as if you accomplished nothing. I actually recommend this game as a standard edition because the bonus was not needed and the extras were sub-par. There are collectible people to find who give you a little extra character story and there are achievements but nothing that was needed to make the story better. Its a game that you want to engross yourself in not get distracted by collectibles or achievements in my opinion.
I played this game on expert and I actually had trouble with it. Some of the things you need to do are sooo illogical that it made me nuts especially in the bonus chapter! You can change difficulty levels in the options menu and I had to switch from time to time to an advanced level so I could make use of the map. With so many locations to cover, it can get confusing where to go and what to do. Its a game that you need to stop at exactly the right time or when you come back, it won't make sense. I had to write notes for myself so I'd remember what I was coming back to. I try to always stop in hidden object scenes but it didn't help in this one.
I LOVED that I found it difficult in terms of finding what to do and where to go! Its the first game in a longggg time that gives you a ridiculous number of objects to carry around with you at once and so you must determine which to play and when instead of picking it up and using it 2 seconds later! I LOVE when its not easy to figure out what to use. I LOVE having at least 15 objects with me at all times because it makes it a challenge and a challenge to remember where it all goes! The strategy guide is helpful and although I don't use them much I did look at it now and again in this game. However I did find the puzzles to be wayyyy too easy but I still had fun playing them.
This is an outstanding game. I hope the developers are actually making the next installment considering it said "to be continued...fall of 2014" and its 2015...is a bit worrisome but I hope they keep it challenging and I hope its as good as this one. Kept my interest the entire time which let me tell you is hard to do!
Kudos devs!

I love a good whodunit murder mystery so this game was right up my alley. I loved the first in the series and I love how interactive these games are. Its like you are actually interrogating a real suspect and for most of the game I had no idea who did it. I won't spoil it for anyone but it was kind of easy to see over time and I thought it could have been a little more plot twisting but overall I liked the game.
There are Eipix's usual style of hidden object scenes, puzzles that were doable but not too easy or too hard. There are 42 cards to collect, 8 masks and morphs in the hidden object scenes. There are a bunch of achievements as well. There is an icon on the bottom right of the screen that dims once you have found the collectible in that area. It also lets you know when you have one to find in the hidden object scene as some scenes I thought were hogs actually weren't and there was no morph to locate. The map is very helpful. It has a customized mode which I love. I didn't really need the map in this game though because everything gets done in an order so you don't need to go all the way back or anything. That makes walking around easier and easier means I don't need to look at the map. Now games like Stolen Runes...I soooo neeeded a map with all the back and forth.
In the extras section there is something called a souvenir room. It doesn't unlock until you complete the entire game including the bonus chapter. In this room, it will take you back to each scene in the game to find an object. I thought this was pretty boring as each one is easy to spot and I didn't see what the point was to it. Also, the main game wraps everything up so the bonus game has no reason to exist, its just a bonus which is great. I hate when endings are the bonus chapter...The bonus chapter was short however and you visit places you already were at looking for a will your victim left.
This game was beautifully made, had great graphics and a mystery murder theme and I really enjoyed playing it. My only suggestion would be when questioning the suspects, I would like to go through the inventory and show them the things the game shows for you. So instead of the computer holding up what to question about, I would like to do it. The whole evidence board could use some work too so it would be more interactive. Overall I loved it and I definitely recommend it. The bonus game was not worth getting the collectors edition for but I did like finding the collectibles. If you couldn't care less about the collectibles...the standard edition would be in your best interest! Cheers!
I recommend this game!
