I have mixed feelings on this one. Although I enjoyed the game play in general, it does have some of the elements I hate such as the subtitled stories where you need to find the highlighted words. I detest those and these seemed to have hard to find articles and they were overly long. Other than that the other HO's and mini games were enjoyable and had just enough challenge to not frustrate or bore you.
Graphics were great and the detail is typical Eipix quality. Colors are bright where needed and dark where needed. Characters were not cartoonish and were well drawn and their mouths actually moved when speaking.
There was a lot of back and forth movement but none of it was wasted sending you on unneeded trips to find things.
Overall, I enjoyed this game and like I said, not quite 4 stars but close.
I recommend this one for the Eipix fan and the HO fan.
Play the demo before you commit to buying because this one might not be for you.
This has to be one of the worst games on Big Fish. Story line is weak and not well executed, characters are not drawn well and everything is just boring with the constant back and forth and illogical play. This one falls into the now common trait of most HO games put out these days in that all you do is run back and forth finding things to do other things to find thing and over and over and over. Not my cup of tea. Colors are washed out and most of the scenes are way too busy and not pleasant to the eye. If it wasn't for the hint button, you would get nowhere and fast.
I don't recommend this game at all despite the 4 and 5 star ratings. They must have played a different game than I did. Play the demo and decide for yourself but don't buy without playing the demo. Have fun?
Usually I'm a fan of the Eipix games but this one has me on the fence. Don't know much about ancient myths but I don't think Eipix tried to follow this one closely, which they shouldn't, but used the myth as sort of a base for the game. The story progresses smoothly although there are a few back and forth moments that can be annoying but, overall, you are led through the story in a logical manner. No boredom that I could see as suggested by others.
The graphics, for the most part, are crisp and colorful and the characters aren't comical. Well, except for the first one you meet on your quest. He seems a little on the doofus side. The snakes you encounter are on the creepy side and are just the right monster (?) to have where they show up. I'm not a snake fan so they put some fear in my soul.
Can't comment on the music because, even if it was playing, I completely tuned it out.
I could go on and on like some reviewers do and give away the plot or spoil the game for you but I won't. I'll just tell you my feelings in as short a space as I can and leave it at that.
I am going to see if there is an SE version, if there is one, and probably buy that.
I do recommend this game and suggest you play the demo remembering this game is not meant to follow the Myth to the letter. Have fun!
I recommend this game!

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
The opening graphics grabbed me on this one. Great detail and depth. Well thought out. I enjoyed the story line although it has been used many times before. This time it felt new. Characters have great detail and movements and their voices fit the persona. We all know what the eventual outcome will be but the developers are at least making the end intriguing to get to. One of those can't wait to see what happens next games. Ho's are not overly challenging but just difficult enough to make you work for it and the items you find are needed almost immediately and they help the story along rather than just send you randomly back and forth. Mini games are about the same and add to the fun of playing. I especially enjoyed the talking skeletons. They are on the comical serious side and what they say, although sarcastically, help in the story. Wouldn't be the same without them. I highly recommend this game if you enjoy HO's with a hint of the whimsical added. This is one I would say look at the high ratings and heed what they say and don't dwell on the low ratings. Of course, play the demo and decide for yourself. Have fun!
As soon as this game started I knew I wouldn't like it. Started out with lead character contacting her sister and finding out they opened a package meant for her and were attacked by some kind of evil orbs. Now the back and forth begins. The "fox" (doesn't look like one.) is supposed to help but not much. Some of the scenes are idiotic such as boxing the orbs in the barn and the HO's are not my cup of tea. They have some of the ones I hate with a passion and that is in the book telling a story and picking out highlighted objects. They aren't too bad if the pictures aren't too busy but when there is so much on the pages and they are almost hidden that's going overboard. Colors in this game are washed out and there is not much detail. Characters are the same and some of them should have stayed home. There is a horse that is supposed to fly and take you to the evil queen's tower but, as soon as you take off, the horse is knocked out from under you. So much for that helper. Despite what some other reviewers have said, this is a back and forth, no help for the story, game that I hate. I don't recommend this one at all if for no other reason than the poor graphics. Very hard to look at. Play the demo and then go find a good game.
This has to be one of the most frustrating games on BF. I can't figure how anyone could give this anything above 2 stars. They must be playing a different game than I did. Of course you start off doing an HO game which was one of the worst I have ever played. The objects are so small and poorly drawn that they are almost impossible to find. Plus they keep adding more objects to find which adds nothing to game play other than impatience on the players part. Graphics are some of the worst I have seen in quite a while. It's almost as if they drew the pictures so bad on purpose. This developer needs to find new designers or else find out what players want. Mini games aren't much better and become so difficult that the skip button is welcomed. I finally got through the 60 minute demo and, believe me, I was glad. I don't recommend this one at all despite the 3, 4, and 5 star reviews. Like I said, they must have played a different game. Don't, I repeat, don't, buy this strictly based on reviews. Play the demo first and then leave it alone. Just walk away.
I started playing this because I have other Alice games that I really enjoy. Sadly, this is not one of them. Too much flitting all over the place trying to get, where? The HO's are garbage in that the objects can be difficult to find and are in a dark picture. Graphics are not that great and detail is missing. The smiling Cheshire cat in every scene is annoying as is the glaring hint button which is a distraction. Click on the dumb thing just to stop the glint. I played most of the demo and finally decided "what the heck am I doing here?" One of the reviewers said don't pay attention to the low ratings but when the 1 and 2 star ratings far out weigh the 4 and 5 star, then you pay attention. Just play the demo and, if you get through it, then decide for yourself and don't let reviews decide for you. I definitely do not recommend this game.
This is one of those games that has all those 4 and 5 star reviews and you wonder if they were playing the same game. Maybe others have lower standards than I do but this is nowhere near the ratings I see. Story line is lame at best. Strange fog in town and, of course, you are the ONLY one that can solve the mystery. During your quest you come up against characters that must have lockjaw because their mouths don't move when talking and the movements are jerky and clown like. This is another of the back and forth HO games that I hate because it takes forever to get anywhere and the story barely creeps along. Played 40 minutes of the demo and I'm still in the same area. The HO's themselves are poor and not very challenging. The objects and background colors are so similar that they are difficult to find. To me the colors and details seem washed out and not up to par with this developers usual quality. Somebody slipped on this one. I don't recommend this one at all despite all the "rave" reviews. Don't purchase this one solely based on the reviews, play the demo first and decide for yourself. Have fun!
This is an amazing puzzle game. I have never seen anything like it before. I love the challenge of arranging the pieces to make a beautiful work of art in stained glass. The challenge is there but not too difficult. Some of the pieces are hard to place but that is not the puzzles fault, that is my aging eyes. The colors are on the dark side but that is just in keeping with the artists that created these works of art. I am a big fan of good jigsaws and this one fits the bill and I will probably buy this one based on the demo. I highly recommend this game especially for the puzzle lovers out there. Have fun!
Tried this one out of curiosity and regretted it as soon as I started. Typical match 3 going along fine until I hit level 5. Gave me a hint for a "short cut" but it wouldn't let me advance no matter how much I cleared the board I couldn't move. This might be an ok game for a child, it has that level of mentality, but not for serious adults. Redeeming factor might be the graphics. They are bright and crisp. Not being a big match 3 fan, I don't recommend this one but play the demo and decide for yourself. I guarantee there will be 5 star reviews. Have fun!
