Based on how far I DIDN'T get in the demo, this is either a really long game or a really short one. Played the demo until the end and I literally got nowhere and fast at that. Trouble with this one is the constant back and forth which is now common. Otherwise this looks like it would be a good game.
Graphics are nice and colorful and the people are believable. Story is typical defeat the spirit world to save your loved one which, of course, we know happens.
As far as the story goes, I liked that and it seemed to have some substance. The hero is a little stubborn, though, and doesn't listen to advice but, hey, if I was trying to save my love, I'd be the same way.
I recommend this one sort of. If you don't mind the constant back and forth then this might be for you.

As soon as I started playing this game I knew it was not your typical HO game. Started off very loosely following the Oz story in that there is a tornado that takes the house and lands in some weird world. Oz appears rather early in the game because you, and only you (of course), can do his bidding and off you go.
Characters you meet up with are well drawn and not amateurish and their voices match their personality. There is great detail in all the scenes and especially Toto. Obviously the developer wanted a quality game and they succeeded.
HO's and mini games have just the right amount of challenge to make them interesting and they are not put in the game just to constantly send you back and forth for no reason. Play the games and HO's and you progress in the story.
Graphics are great and, as I said earlier, there is great detail. Colors are just the right hue for the scene and are sharp and not washed out.
This is not quite a 5 star rating for me but it's close. I highly recommend this one because I know you will enjoy playing.
But play the demo first and then decide.

I thought this was going to be a pretty good game when I first started, boy was I wrong. This one went from maybe to nope in a heartbeat.
There is nothing great about this game and it certainly is NOT a 5 star game, not even a 4 star and barely a 3 star. It is just your typical HO game where developers think all you want to do is chase after some spirit entity and jump back and forth finding and using useless stuff for no reason.
As for the spirit person, the only thing he does is occasionally show up, threaten you with death and then disappear. If he was an actual demon/spirit he would go ahead and, oh, I don't know, kill you and have it over with but that would make for a short game.
Graphics in this one are ok but not great and the characters could use a little more detail. Only one really half way believable is the spirit little girl. At least she seems to have a little bit of sense.
HO games and mini puzzles are on the easy side without much challenge at all and were finished quickly with no real story progression or help.
I can't recommend this one at all despite the 5 star reviews. They must have played a different game than I did.

When I first started this game I thought "Here we go again, another useless back and forth game" but the more I played the better it became. Story line is slow at first without much happening but it did pick up to the point that I am anxious to get back to the game and see what happens. I mean, I know what will happen, I just want to see how it is played out.
Graphics are nice and the right mix of dark and bright areas. Characters are well drawn and are believable. Voice overs are perfect and not clownish.
HO's and mini games are about average but fun with just the right amount of challenge.
I think I will probably try the SE version also to see if there are any major differences before I decide to buy, but this is a definite buy for me.
I recommend this one despite the low ratings.

I realize this is the first in the series and that they are supposed to get better but this one was so boring that I had to quit.
This is definitely your basic game in this series. You do your matching and get your points or whatever but you never go back to the town to build anything like in the next 2 in the series. Eventually you do get a god or goddess to help but that takes forever.
I am glad I played Hellas 2 first and bought that one and not this one.
I don't recommend this one at all unless you thrive on boredom. I don't understand anything over 2 stars on this one.

This has to be one of the most boring games I have played in a while. No great story line or even a reason to investigate other than some creepy guy roaming the halls of an abandoned mansion.
This is your typical low budget HO game in that all you do is go back and forth over and over getting things to open or use other things. It's as though the developers do these back and forth things until they think of something else to add.
And what about that monster (?) in the house? He seems to be more afraid of you than you are of him because he is always running from you after saying some idiotic thing that, I guess,is supposed to make you run.
Graphics are not up to par and are on the dark side and there is not good detail.
HO's and mini games are very easy and really add nothing to the game.

I'm not a big fan of TM games but this one kept me interested long enough to finish the demo. Each level is basically the same but the challenge increases which kept me in the game. Had to see what was coming next.
Graphics are good and colorful and the characters movements aren't stiff or amateurish. Obviously some thought was put into this game by the developers.
There are 3 different game modes but I always do relaxed simply because I hate concentrating on the clock rather than the playing. There is a puzzle hidden within the game and you collect pieces as you progress.
Even if you aren't a TM fan, I think you'll find this one fun. Try the demo and decide for yourself.

Clowns these days are not favorite people and are generally frowned upon. This game confirms why. The bad guy in this one is a clown and he is depicted as anything but funny. He's always just one step ahead of you so he won't be caught until the end of the game.
Graphics are ok and at least colorful and there is pretty good detail. Some of the characters that are supposed to help you could have been cleaned up a little. The cop in the office needs to tuck his shirt in and the homeless guy at the fair needs a good bath and haircut.

True, it does have the now familiar back and forth that is common in HO's now but these movements have a purpose. Every HO you complete or every mini game you finish or every door you open helps you continue on your quest and doesn't waste your time with unnecessary jumps here and there. The only reason I didn't rate it higher was because of the back and forth and what I thought was a weak story.
I loved the graphics in this one and it gave me the sense of an earlier time in Russian history.
The characters are a little on the amateurish side but not to the point of being ridiculous. But their clothing is exquisite and helps develop the older feeling.
I recommend this game for the serious HO gamer but I will probably play the CE edition demo before I commit to purchasing just to make sure.

Although this is your typical golf style solitaire game, this one leaves a lot to be desired. First, the story line is a little too gruesome. Instead of this little missy heading west to see what's there and follow her dream she is forced to go because her father is killed and then her mother dies. On her way she is attacked by coyotes but a native American boy chases them off. She learns he is the only survivor when his village was destroyed by the same gang that killed her father.
The graphics aren't that great especially on the cards. They could have come up with something better there.
Game play has no challenge whatsoever and tends to become somewhat of a bore even with the match 3 thrown in.
I don't recommend this one at all unless you like boring, average games despite the good reviews. There are better ones out there so keep looking and don't waste your money.
