I suppose this is a good game... I just can't really get into it. It doesn't help that nearly every drawing of Hermes makes him look like he's shocked by some odd news.
The building/gathering/tearing down gets a touch repetitive after a while, the music is semi-annoying, and the story doesn't really seem to go anywhere.
I'm going to finish the game as it is kind of fun, but it's more a time-killer than anything else. Do try it and decide for yourself, though.
If you enjoyed the other games in this series, you'll enjoy this one as well. It has an added feature of having to work in daylight or at night which is fun. All the Viking heroes are there along with the various gods.
This is very much the old Rescue Team type game. I have missed these! Only a few changes and none that disturb the wonderful feel/play of this game.
Another fun thing - along with everything others have mentioned - is that all the old characters are back (with a new one). They sort of come and go logically in the story instead of being with the same characters the whole time.
Thank you for making another great Rescue Team game and... please, keep them coming!
If you have played the others of this game, then you know the way this one goes... however they have added a need for certain items to be delivered by post that might slow you down just a little bit.
There is a mini-game of postal package delivery that's ok and I found a place to shoot at the bad guys again. You can build up your town on another area and the OWLS are still around!
It's more of the fun of the other two games. Yes, there is a bit of a translation problem (everyone's gone over that, so I don't need to), but it doesn't change the game play.
Lots of building of buildings, then tearing them down to build other buildings and lots of path clearing. The story line holds the game together well.
The graphics on this game take me back to when they first started making games like this. They seem klunky and amateurish. Still, the game is fun - if a little slow. (I think I've been spoiled by The Viking Brothers games.) The wait time for things to regenerate can be a bit long.
This game is fun and a good way to take up some time.
I had a great time playing the main part of this game... except there were these stupid, nearly invisible coins to find and I quickly bored with that so I quit looking.
What a way to find out that's the only way you can play the extra scenes... which were also very boring! You have to find all the coins... and I didn't have enough of them to go past the second bonus level. The bonus levels seem to be nothing but seeing how fast you can pick up gems.
I definitely feel a little ripped off by this game... but the main part of the game is fun. I have to give it a "meh" review and can't really say whether I would recommend it or not. Certainly not as a Collector's Edition!
This game is a blast, as always! The snarky comments are back and the fun characters are there. There have been a few minor changes, but not enough to be confusing or feel unnecessary.
You can't go wrong with these Yankee games... they just keep getting better and better!
No, this is not Rescue Team (I sincerely hope they will keep the Rescue Team series going), but it is an excellent game and a ton of fun. The story line is engaging and the levels are challenging, if you want the timed version, and still a little bit challenging if you play untimed.
It is very like the first game, but has challenges of its own. I would very much suggest giving this game a try.
While very much like all the other games, this is still a ton of fun!
I purchased this after playing only the first level. It was like having an old friend back, familiar yet new. If you enjoyed the rest of the games, you'll like this one, too!
