This is a fun game that is low pressure but still takes a bit of thinking and getting your priorities straight. If you import too many new people before you can house them, they stand around an do nothing. If you don't balance your work crews you have to wait around until thing get up to production before you can move on. It is sort of a cross between the Virtual Villager and the Island Castaway games. I don't know if it keeps playing while you are not there as this is my first break. The cartoon characters are fun and easy to manipulate. There is no marriage or reproduction, you import new people from another area of the game. All the tasks are interrelated and It becomes impossible to do them if you don't pick the right order. If you sell the wrong products or too much of a product you get stuck until you build your supplies again. I could just keep blabbing on about this but bottom line is that I'm having a really fun time playing and you might too.
I recommend this game!

Nothing in the storyline made me laugh or even smile. It was just plain sad and dark. It bothered me.
The game itself was well done and but not too challenging. Sometimes I had to backtrack to figure out where to go next. At times the challenges were spread around so you needed to collect pieces in more than one scene. I've played lots of HOG and many times I knew what was next before it happened. There were a few puzzles but nothing really new or different.
I would not have bought this game except it was free on the last buy one get one free. I would only recommend it if you don't get involved in the storyline and are still a intermediate or less HOG player.

This game was poorly put together. There are many frustrating, annoying glitches in the interface that cause you to have to do the same thing several times before it clicks. It is very easy to leave a scene accidently and sometimes when you want to leave it takes multiple clicks to make it happen. IF you can get past that, this game is fun, funny and worthwhile.
There are lots of interesting puzzles that are not overly hard. The HOG is a little different in that you have to identify shapes and gather them to help make a device to help you with future tasks. There isn't too much backtracking so it is hard to get lost. When you finish in one area you are locked out so you don't have to go on any wild goose chases.
The art work is fun and creative. I don't listen to sound so no comment there.
If you are a rookie to HOG don't start with this on because it doesn't work very well. Otherwise, I recommend it with reservations.
I recommend this game!

I beta tested this game and watched for it to come out. I really wanted to play the whole game. The graphics are terrific and the hidden objects are well hidden without being impossible. There is a little side game where you collect small objects along the way that does not influence the outcome, only whether you can find 25 of them before the game ends. If you get lost there is a map with gold dots on the places you can go and discover something or do something to advance the game. If you have played more than a few HOGs you should be able to figure things out without needing hints. If you do require help, the hints are specific enough to get you unstuck. The ending was a bit abrupt but when I played the bonus that comes with CE, things came together nicely.
I recommend this game!

This is a builder game that is tough to win the gold. I have played the first 20 levels and it keeps getting harder. The challenges keep mounting and I haven't found any powerups to help. It Runs like Royal Envoy type games but not as cute. There is no tolerance if you do things in the "wrong" order and I'm finding it frustrating rather than fun. You have a certain number of days to accomplish tasks and sometimes it is not even a near miss. I normally play this kind of game pretty well, learning from my mistakes. That doesn't seem to be the case for me with this one. 8 or so retries and I still can't master the level? I guess that's why I wouldn't recommend it beyond the trial. The first ten levels are doable but then look out!
I don't recommend this game.

I played this game in the easiest mode and loved it. The challenges were hard enough to be interesting and easy enough to solve. There is a skip button if you can't do the puzzles. I didn't have to use hints but they are there if you are lost. They pretty much help you focus on what you have to do next rather than outright drag you along. They tell you if there is nothing to do in the scene you are in. I don't listen to sound so I can't comment on that. The graphic quality was good and the HOG scenes were easy to distinguish what the objects were. I happened to buy the CE and it played out the story longer, a lead into the next in this series. I liked this game well enough that I will revisit it after it has been in storage for a while and I don't remember it so well.
I recommend this game!

This game played smoothly. I didn't like it because it was very dark (mood). The HOG scenes were hard for me to distinguish and I ended up guessing a lot because some of the objects were difficult to make out. The hunt scenes were sepia with low contrast to background. That further set the dark mood of the game for me. I didn't finish the trial because it was a real downer for me. The actual challenges were doable and I guess if I could have gotten past the mood of the game it would have been okay. Just not my type of fun.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of the hardest strategy, HOG, puzzle games I have played. The hints were easy to access if you need them. I will say that there is a lot of jumping around and info to keep track of. I would sometimes lose track of my goal because I would have to leave the game and come back to it later. The journal was more story oriented than giving direction. Still, a quick hint would put me back on track. Graphics were outstanding. I don't play with sound. Story was interesting.
I recommend this game!

This game is kind of a cross between Aztec Tribe and Royal Envoy. It is fast paced and full of building communities. I wish there was a bit more variety in the tasks but it's okay. I don't listen to sound so I can't comment on that but the graphics are cute and highly recognizable. One of the things I like is the fact that one can play in a relaxed mode with plenty of time to accomplish your goals. I played the first time through in relaxed mode and the second time through in serious mode. Not something I will play over and over but was good for several hours of entertainment.
I recommend this game!

A fun little game. Not really very difficult of fast paced. The hardest part is cramming all the buildings into the areas provided but moving them is easy. Great graphics but can't comment on sound as I don't listen. Kids could easily play this if it is something that would hold their interest. It is a non stressful game that you can putter at when you have some time and don't want anything intense.
I recommend this game!
