This game is not overly hard. The puzzles are sometimes a little easy but mostly doable without much head scratching. There is an interactive map that helps you if you become lost about where to go next. The illustrations are beautiful and the background sound/music is very subtle. If you want to play silent it is not hard as there are written lines to go along with the dialog. You have a helper (cat) for things that you can't reach or language you can't understand. He is not obnoxious. I'm really enjoying this game and it lasts quite a long time. The trial should tell you if you will like it as the game remains consistent. I recommend it if you want relaxed fun without too much frustration.
I really enjoyed this game even though it is a "rerun". I have played the whole series and this still seems fun and challenging. I played through the whole game, 82 towns, and then went back to correct the ones where I didn't earn 3 stars. There are two levels of play and even the easiest makes for a nice challenge. I almost didn't buy it because I hated the game RE-Campaign for the Crown. But this one has cleaned the the thing with the rabbit holes that I didn't like.
If you are new to Royal Envoy here is what it is about. You visit a series of islands and complete tasks to move to the next village. There are trees to cut, food to gather, and structures to build to be successful. There is an elephant helper than drains swamps and rabbit holes to jump through that teleport you to outlying areas. When you collect products all you have to do is sweep over them with your mouse. This makes for less clicking and a more enjoyable game. There are lots of choices to make as you play. If you do things in the wrong order you will not finish in time. Dialogue between characters is kept to a minimum. There is a great bang for your buck in this game. The collectors edition has additional challenges when you finish the basic round. I believe it also has the strategy guide included.
I really like this game for one major reason. You don't have to start from scratch if you make too many mistakes. Sometimes I highlight blocks with the wrong mouse button so I destroy what I want to keep or keep what I want to destroy. If one makes too many errors you are out but if you go back to the map and say continue, the puzzle comes up again, right where you left off. You don't have to keep doing the same puzzle over and over again until you manage to get it right.
The other thing I like is the fact that the blocks are colored and that makes the pictures more fun. There are little mini games when you change levels, kind of like Tetris. If you can't do this sort of puzzle the game has a skip button after a short amount of time. There is a quick H.O.G. too.
There are a lot of levels for plenty of playing time. You get awards for finishing the puzzles, not for how fast you complete them or lack of mistakes. I don't listen to sound but the graphics are clear and easy to see.

I played this game to the end but didn't really enjoy it. There was lots of jumping around and going back and forth from scene to scene. I didn't realize there was a map until well into the game. You carry items around and use them to solve various puzzles along the way. There is a lot of remembering what is behind you and having to revisit sites to clear puzzles when you finally accumulate all the items you need. The art work is very basic, nothing special. I don't listen to sound so I won't comment on that. I had to use the hint button more than I like because I kept getting lost on where to go next or what mission I was trying to complete. Sometimes there were several tasks I needed to complete and I had trouble knowing what to do next. I sure don't think like the developers and usually I'm a better that average gamer. I would recommend it to those folks that want a different sort of challenge but play the demo first.
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
This game made me smile and laugh all the way through. The puzzles were new and different than most. Some were very easy and others a bit challenging. Finding the pieces to unlock the various puzzles was challenging too.
This game lasted longer than I thought it would. Basically there were two princes that got turned into frogs and were captured by the witch. They wouldn't marry her so she held them captive. Your job is to free them. In the end, the witch is dispatched to someone that will marry her.
I get tired of all the dark, fearful games and this was fun, with likable cartoon characters. There is no violence and if you get stuck there is a hint key that charges rather quickly. The humor in some situations was refreshing and I liked it. Younger gamers could play this if they have developed the skills of problem solving and searching. Try them with a trial if you have a question.
This game is similar to the Royal Envoy series but a little easier to play. The characters are not as much fun. The building, mining, and destruction to build something new are common themes. To be successful you must stay on-track with the order that you do things. If you need to restart it is no big deal. The levels are all doable with the right strategy. I never listen to sounds or music so I can't comment there. Visuals are nothing special. Game play is smooth without having to click too much. To collect goods and money you just have to sweep over object. I like it and am enjoying playing.
This game was a combo of easy and hard tasks. The graphics were clear and well drawn. The HO scenes were sometimes difficult but if you moved your pointer around you could get hints of what items needed to be combined to make a hidden object pop out. Most of the HO scenes had to be visited more than once before they were tapped out. The hints would point you in the right direction but didn't tell you what to do. There was a certain amount of back and forth to collect puzzle pieces. There were no maps but I don't think they were very necessary. Some of the puzzles were overly easy. Some were challenging and some I couldn't figure out what they were looking for. The skip button allows you pass on anything you can't master. I was entertained for a few hours before I finished.
I recommend this game!

Royal Envoy: Campaign for the Crown Collector's Edition
King or Swindler? Who will be the new ruler of the Kingdom?
I have played all the Royal Envoy series. I have replayed the first two games many times. For some reason this third game has not grabbed my attention. I like the fact that to collect money/food/wood you only have to swipe it and not click on it. They also have a feature this time called a rabbit hole. This is basic teleport feature that moves you between floating land masses. I have found many of the challenges to be simple and a few to be quite challenging. The story line is dumb and there is lots more dialog than I like. I was so excited for another R.E. game. This didn't ring my chimes. If you haven't play R.E. before you will probably enjoy this. I give a qualified recommendation.
The game was familiar enough that I didn't struggle trying to play it. There were puzzles that were solvable and a lot lot of places to go. The visuals were very well done. The characters actually spoke the dialog so you didn't have to read unless you wanted to. I turned it off because I usually play silent but it was not obnoxious. The speaking scenes could have played a bit faster but there is a skip button if you don't want to spend time on dialogue. I loved the level of creativity and problem solving. Hints were available if I needed them. There is limited travel by map. However if you get somewhere and want to leave again, the map button takes a bit to recharge.

This is like many of the race around and build things in a set amount of time to get the best score games. However there is a big difference for me. I'm not very good at chaos and many of those type of games drive me nuts because I can't win the gold. This game can be played UNTIMED. It's fun because I'm not always trying to beat the clock. You still have to set priorities and I have had a few restarts. There is no violence. The main character is a very likeable, fun guy. The guys dance at the end of each adventure, much like the Royal Envoy characters. If you are hard core, you can play in other modes which considerably up the challenge. It truly is a game for all levels of player. I don't think you can go wrong on this one. Try it and you will probably buy it!
