I have been such a fan of Laruaville that I hate to feel this way about this (and the last) version of the game. Yes, the way to create bombs and rockets is new (so something novel). Do I still miss how creating 4 and 5 matches gives me power-ups? Yes. Overall, I'm just bored with this one. And yes, I played to almost the end of the demo, so I got far enough into it to see where it was going. I'm glad so many here are enjoying it. I think this one will be a no buy for me, unfortunately.
I have loved every Laruaville prior to this one. I'm not enjoying this one. It's clunky and they've made it frustrating. I've reached a level that I've played 3 times and it doesn't seem to have a solution. Get rid of the balls and only getting rockets when you match rockets. I'm sorry I bought this one.
I liked the story behind it. However, it was jerky/glitchy. Even little things like lighting the lantern wasn't smooth. I seriously got frustrated with it. Maybe this is a great game. It has the makings for it. But I'm just like "whatever". I can't get into it because I just can't move smoothly from place to place and task to task.
I love Laruaville. Or I used to. I own every game. This one, however, may just be the first time I pass up one. I was so happy to see mah-jongg back in the game. I was not, however, happy to see some of the same game play from Laruaville 7. The lack of power-ups is just one of the irritations. I also agree with the other poster who mentioned the lack of civility by the ghosts themselves. I think Laruaville hit their peak way back at #4. It's been going downhill ever since.
It's still a fun game. Just not the same fun I used to have with them.
Hallelujah! A game without demons, spooks, evil entities, etc. I had begun to despair over the lack of games that were whimsical, colorful, and just plain fun. I don't care that the games thus far have been somewhat easy. I'm just enjoying the change of pace and lack of darkness that has invaded so many games recently. As I always say, try it for yourself. It may not be your cup of tea. Or, to your great surprise, you may actually enjoy it!
I spent 30 minutes of my life on this..... I wish I hadn't. The colors are beautiful. That's about all the good I have to say. I collected this, and this, and this, and this....
I had high hopes for this game. Unfortunately the beauty of the visuals doesn't offset the inanity of the game play.
The bride has been murdered. Who's the culprit? This game is divided into 3 sections - evidence processing, clue gathering, and data analysis. The default is for each one to be a different type of solitaire - matching, one up -one down, or add up to 14. This is the mixed match option. You can also choose your favorite type and make all 3 arms of the puzzle the same type.
When you play the matching or add up to 14 type you do have to click on the draw card to ensure the right combination. For the one up, one down you do not.
After collecting enough of the right type of cards you must analyze you findings - so far I've seen a jumbled up HOP scene and a HOP where the magnifier shows you what you can't see...
I had a free game code that needed to be used, and this filled my punch card up for another free game. It will provide mindless entertainment when I need it. As always, give it a try - and do try more than just one type of solitaire. You don't have to finish an entire set of cards to be able to move to another type.
This brings back memories of some of the first MCF games. Instead of having to run all over (and over and over) an estate you did one scene at a time. Yes, it is heavy on the HOs. It does have the typical super puzzles where you have to figure out what to do and in which order. The ones in the demo, however, were not as difficult as some of the latter MCF puzzles (which was a blessing to me). I did use the guide for one piece of one puzzle.
I played in relaxed mode (no timer) and still did the entire demo in 61 minutes. This one will be a "buy" for me - but as always, try it for yourself. As you can see, it's not for everyone.
It took me about 15 minutes to decide this was a no-go for me. First, no option for no timer. Not to say there isn't enough time to do what you have to - I just don't like timers. Secondly, it is not as well thought out as Gardenscapes nor does it have the visual appeal as that series does. Lastly, while having a variety of games is interesting I found myself bored rather quickly. While others will enjoy it, I will have to say no thanks to this one.
I am a big fan of Laruaville. I do like this game but it's not my favorite. I still like buying the buildings better than collecting coins, or as in this case, just finishing levels. Power-ups are a bit different in this one so you may need to read the help guide to understand them if you are like me and hate tutorials. At least it is fun, and I don't have to run back and forth between scenes twenty times to achieve a goal. As with all games, try before you buy. It is a bit different than previous versions!
